    Carne Asada Bocado Bowl
    Paul J.

My first visit to Los Bocados will certainly not be my last! The Carne Asada Bocada Bowl was well portioned and had a great flavoring. It came with plenty of different sauces that all had great flavors--the steak had a nice char to it and the avocados added a nice creaminess to the bowl. Don't sleep on the house-made hot sauce, which had a great spice level and plenty of its own flavor too. Every meal came with chips and salsa included, which is a nice touch when others would charge extra.

Tonight I decided to try Los Bocados in Parkland. I had heard good things about this place in the past and I was in the area and hungry so why not . I ordered online a mahi taco , chips and salsa and rice and beans . They gave many options when ordering online to customize your taco. I had added the avocado cream, beans , cilantro , lettuce and cheese to my taco. The taco was delicious and two would have been a good amount for me. The tacos are on the smaller side the single mahi taco was $5.89 The salsa that came with the chips was fresh and tasty / the only issue for me was the chips seemed like a small amount - maybe I was expecting there to be more - when I checked the order of chips and salsa was $1.55 so now the Amount seems fair. I enjoyed the rice and beans- was pinto beans and the side was 3.11 . I only waited a few minutes for my order . Definitely a place to try for great tacos !

My fiancé and I stumbled upon the hidden gem that is Los Bocados on Sunday for lunch and their food left me speechless. The service was quick and friendly, it also looked like the owner was behind the counter doing some food prep which was great to see. We were lucky because when we arrived we were able to secure an inside table. I say this because there's only a small handful of seating options inside and maybe 2-3 tables available outside. We ordered six tacos, bbq tostadas and two drinks with tip it was all around $60. The food was flavorful and delicious! We will DEFINITELY be returning. My fiancé felt the bbq tostadas could've had more spice and to be fair they come with pickled jalapeños but I asked for them to be taken off so next time we'll ask for them to be left on one half.

We've ordered from Los Bocados before when the were in the gas station, and to be honest, the food was better there. Most of the food we received was ice cold with the exception of the fish tacos as they had to be fried. The fish tacos were the best part of the meal, but they were just pretty good and not amazing. The bbq brisket tostadas, the carne asada taco, and the elote were all cold, and we sat in the restaurant. We would have sent it back but we had to catch a comedy show and we didn't know if we would make it in time. The service was good and the ambiance was fine.

Literally the best tacos around! I have been coming here since they were inside of a gas station next door, and they never disappoint! Now, with a big location, tables and counters to sit and enjoy the delicious food, the music is always blasting and I feel like I'm in México every time! The staff is super nice and welcoming and friendly. The food comes out quickly and it's always super fresh. You can tell everything is made with love. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm craving their mushroom tacos everyday, so they'll definitely see more of me for the next few months!

Absolutely delicious! I've been eating food from here for over 5 years because my job offers food for us regularly. Today was my first time at the actual restaurant. My usual is the burrito bowl with chicken. I also love the burritos. Next time I'll try to steak tacos or quesadilla. Everything you order comes with yummy chips and salsa. I'm sure I'll love those, too. Anthony, one of the owners took my order with a big smile and was really friendly. Free parking. Prices are a pile higher than I expected but on par with current prices everywhere so not a big surprise. There are 2 tables and counter seating as well as a few tables outside. Just go, I'm certain you'll enjoy it!

The place is very clean and nice. We stopped by on a Sunday, so it wasn't a busy. The service is pretty fast considering you order at the counter. We had carnitas and the chicken tacos...not amazed by them. I feel the tacos are pretty decently sized and yes they're tasty, but they're far from epic. If anything they're a bit forgettable. I was really excited to try these but they're more like your basic American taco more than authentic flavors.

    Hongo Quesadilla
    Dave H.

Wow, that was REALLY interesting! Ashamed to say that I haven't had truly authentic flavors like that in a long, long, long time!!! The food is, literally, amazing. Perfect. No grease, no piles of cheese masking actual flavor, just clean earthy homemade grain flavors in the wraps and spices to warp the mind in the middle. Borracho Burrito, Hongalitas and Hongos Quesadilla... aMAZing! Even the corn chips brought me to the beach in Baja. Small joint, just two tables, more of a take out place. Not cheap, but very much worth the price. Plenty of clearly marked choices for veg heads, too! There is a "online service fee" of $2.15 for making an online order on their own website; it is not an exorbitant amount, obviously, but I'm not a fan of bs "fees" for food.

One thing to keep in mind is that there is an additional charge for excessive food waste, so be careful not to over-order. This policy is clearly stated on the menu. Also, while soft drinks are included with the all-you-can-eat option, alcoholic beverages are not. We ordered a variety of tacos, and every one of them was fresh and delicious. The all-you-can-eat menu also includes unlimited chips and salsa, along with churros for dessert. The only surprise came when we ordered churros. We were initially served two, but when we requested more, we were told that the all-you-can-eat menu only includes one serving of churros. Since this limitation was not indicated on the menu, it caught us off guard. Fortunately, our server was extremely kind and accommodated our request for additional churros, which we greatly appreciated. Even so, the churro restriction was unexpected and is something worth noting.

With its warm, inviting atmosphere and Mexican decor, the restaurant instantly makes you feel at home. We were greeted like old friends by Luz herself, setting the stage for a delightful meal. Lured by the enticing "$10 for 4 Tacos" Taco Tuesday deal, we indulged in a variety of tacos and other menu highlights. The journey began with fresh, house-made chips and two flavorful salsas - a vibrant green jalapeño and a smoky red morita. The horchata was a standout, creamy and perfectly balanced, while the tamarind drink offered a refreshing tang. YOU MUST GET THE HORCHATA! One of the best I have tried. Our taco selection included cochinitas, carnitas, asada, al pastor, and tinga de pollo. Each taco was a burst of traditional Mexican flavors, generously filled with juicy, well-seasoned meat and served in small, handheld tortillas - a true taste of Mexico. My favorite was the cochinitas! While opinions varied on the asada's saltiness, the overall consensus was overwhelmingly positive. We also savored the street corn, a delightful combination of mayo, lime, cream, queso fresco, and tajin, and the unforgettable birria tacos, generously loaded with meat and cheese and accompanied by a flavorful, non-greasy consommé.I appreciate it was not oily like many places, I was able to drink it all and no heart burns lol! To conclude our meal, we indulged in perfectly fried churros, choosing both the dulce de leche and chocolate varieties. These delightful treats were not overly sweet and filled with sugar, providing a satisfying end to our dining experience. Taco Real offers a true taste of Mexico in Florida, with its exceptional service, authentic flavors, and inviting ambiance. We can't wait to go back for another Taco Tuesday! We then shared the spicy tuna taco & the sushi burger. Both had very fresh ingredients, but I expected the taco to have a bit more flavor to. It was just standard cubed fish with some spicy mayo drizzled on top--I'm used to having the tuna tossed in the sauce prior. The main reason for our visit was the sushi burger, which certainly did not disappoint. The two crispy rice buns were cooked perfectly and made for a great base for the fresh fillings within. Pile High Nachos with Birria -- The Sloppy Nacho -- 3/10 (2 Stars on Yelp)…read more I only review nachos. Not the room, not the drinks, just the plate. Papamigos gave me the best looking plate of nachos I've ever been served, and one of the worst to actually eat. It arrives as a mountain, and credit where it's due, nobody has ever set a better looking plate of nachos in front of me. Colored chips, birria up the sides, drizzle over the peak. It's a fiesta. It's genuinely beautiful. It's also called Pile High, which in hindsight was the menu warning me, and me ordering it anyway. Stupid Nacho Man. The thing about a pile is it has exactly one move: down. Every good thing, the fresh pico, the peppers that actually have real heat, all of it, is stacked on the summit. So you get three glorious bites of a real nacho and then you're off the mountain and into the badlands. Dry chips on one side, cold cheese swamp on the other, no peppers in sight. The party was on top and you already ate it. Depression sets in. Somewhere under all that queso is a chip that knows what happened to Jimmy Hoffa. Here's the real tragedy. The queso is actual flowing nacho cheese, and there is an absolute ass load of it. Nineteen plates I've spent begging South Florida to use real nacho cheese, and Papamigos finally did, then dumped so much on that it drowned the pico, the peppers, and the meat. I'm not saying the kitchen was in a hurry (I was the only person there), I'm saying someone back there said "f*** it" like John McClane going off the Nakatomi roof and dumped an ocean of molten cheese on this thing. I am not exaggerating for effect. I wish I were. And the whole thing came out room temperature. Only two things on that plate were hot, the queso and the meat, and they had to warm an entire mountain by themselves while a pile of cold chips mugged them for their heat. They lost that battle faster than France surrendering (in about two minutes.) The shredded cheese at the bottom never melted at all, because it was sitting under a cold pile on a plastic boat you can't exactly slide into an oven. Check the photos, there's a queso stalactite hanging off the rim. It formed on the way to the table and was still hanging there twenty minutes later, purely out of spite. Then there's the meat. I ordered the birria. Five dollar upcharge, it's on the receipt. What showed up was pot roast. Gray, no chile, no adobo, none of what makes birria birria. Check the photos and compare it to a real one. I'm not going to tell you what's in anybody's head. I'll just say the menu said birria, the receipt charged me for birria, and the plate said pot roast. You do the math. Credit where it's due, the server took twenty percent off without me asking. Though the birria upcharge was five bucks and the discount was four-forty, so I still paid for the pot roast. Just at a slight discount. I did not finish it. I've left plates before when they beat me on sheer volume, and honestly that's a compliment. This one I walked away from with room left in the tank. I left still hungry, and I would rather be hungry. Twenty-two dollars for a third of a plate. Four peppers a fire does not make. This dish is a dumpster fire without the heat. All of it is fixable. Heat the chips, layer it instead of stacking it, ease up on the queso, and put actual birria on the birria. Until then, I'm giving this a hard pass. -- Florida Nacho Man
