The absolute worst in customer service and equipment. They will rent you equipment that should have been discarded years ago and when this equipment fails, they'll tell you it is your fault and if you had any problems with the equipment they would gladly change it out for you (which means coming down off the mountain, replacing and going back up the mountain -- a two hour, minimum, journey). In short, you are better off renting elsewhere. read more

Upon entering the business I could see it was busy, but the fast and helpful staff treatedy self and my family very kindly andade use feel very comfortable going along on their equipment. And alot easier than standing in line for hours on the mountain. read more

Renting ski equipment before you go skiing is a good idea. Renting from Ski Tech is NOT. The guy who takes the money behind the register is rude and condescending to his employees which makes for a very uncomfortable experience. Their customer service policies are very un-customer friendly. We rented equipment that we left behind and were still charged for it even after they had rented the same equipment to someone else. So they effectively collected double rent on the equipment, and the guy explained that it was our fault for leaving it behind and the owner's fault that we could not get it credited back. Overall, they were very unprofessional, and I would not recommend anyone rent from this company. Do yourself a favor and go to Cottam's (on the mountain) or Alpine (in town). read more

Spent 3 1/2 hours waiting for skis for my family of 4. When we got to the end they didn't have skis , helmets or pools for all of us. They wanted to charge an up-charge for my skis even though they didn't have any regular ones. The manager was condescending and argued with me in front of my children. Was embarrassing for everyone involved. Stay away! read more

Horrible, unkind and unprofessional service! I FOUND A SCREWDRIVER IN THE SOLE OF MY SKI BOOT. That was pretty crazy - the kind people at Ski Santa Fe took it out for me. This, however, is not the cause for my extreme dissatisfaction. When I went into the shop to return my things, I asked for some sort of refund. One employee berated me for not fixing it myself, claiming that because I had a full day of skiing anyway they didn't think they were at all at fault. He assumed I hadn't tried fixing it and was rude and condescending. The matter was not resolved because the manager. with whom I later spoke, claimed the owner wouldn't allow a refund. Don't get your skis here, these folks don't care about their customers. Unless you're looking to get some free tools hidden in your gear. read more

We went to rent paddle boards, and during the early fall the guys at the shop are a real pain to get ahold of because they don't hold normal hours as advertised and are out mountain biking or whatever so we had two options for board pick up: 8am or 9am. And we had to come to commit to picking up the boards at exactly one time or another, and I think it was honestly more for their convenience than ours. Also, all of their life jackets run small and were really kind of outdated....I could barely fit into their L/XL and I'm pretty lean and usually a size medium. If the vest fits improperly, it won't help you float and will go over the top of your head when you fall in the water. Drop off was the same way, either 5pm that same day, or 9am the following morning. This was just not flexible, especially for driving an hour away. Other pet peeve, when the guy was doing the demo, he only spoke to my boyfriend. I hate when guys do that -it's really sexist. I'm like, "hello just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I'm don't understand what PSI on an air gauge means." For the price of $54 per SUP rental, I would much rather own my own SUP and go when I want, where I want. By the time we got up to Lake Abiquiu, we only got about 4 hours on the water. The SUP rentals themselves were in fine condition, no qualms about it but I did think they were a bit over priced. read more

I have rented skis for my family at ski tech for the past several years while visiting in Santa Fe and look forward to doing so again this year. I made the mistake of trying to rent up on the mountain years ago and will never do that again! Now we always go to Ski Tech to get our equipment the evening before, that way we can hit the mountain nice and early. The staff at Ski Tech have always been very helpful, friendly and knowledgable. I have nothing but good things to say about this place, they make the whole experience so much easier for me and my family! read more

You have been warned. Stay away from this place. I agree that there should be zero or negative stars, this is one of the worst businesses in Santa Fe. Absolutely no customer service, arrogant and lazy employees, besides being rude and insulting. Please read the other reviews and avoid this place. It needs to go out of busniness. I love living in SF, but the attitude of this place is the worse reflection of one of the "ills" of SF, namely the attitude of many in the customer service industry. Please give your money to the other ski shops in the area which care about your business. I need to respond further to the business' response to my post. First of all, read some of the other comments, and one common thread is that this business is less than trustworthy, and that they lie. I never asked for a 24 hr turnaround. I brought my skis in this morning (Saturday at 10 am) for tuneup. He asked when I needed the skis, and I told him that i was hoping to ski on Monday afternoon. He then told me that there were 3 people in front of me, and that he was not sure whether the skis would be done on Monday. (please remember that this is a ski tune up shop, open 7 days a week, and that one of their main jobs should be tune ups on a timely basis). I asked him very politely if i could call on Monday morning, and if they had not had time to tune up my skis, then i could pick them up and return them after I got done skiing. This was where things got interesting from a customer perspective-he then said that if i was going to pick them up, he did not want to do the paperwork because paper work was "expensive". I truly hope that they have this on video. I could not believe that this was his response. I then told him that what is expensive is losing a customer, and that I could not believe his response. He then made a few derogatory comments to me, and I responded in kind. I then left and was going to my car, when he came out of the store and starting poking his phone in my face, and telling me that he hopes that i "break both of my knees", and then called me an old fat f__k. Clearly an example of great customer service. They may claim that they have video and audio, but there was a person in my car who witnessed the entire event. In review, both parties could have responded differently, but this does not change their total lack of customer service and that they truly do not understand the basic concept of any business - that you depend upon your customers and their return business. As far as abrasive behavior, there was enough to go around by both parties. Go somewhere else! read more

Decent equipment, very inflexible. After a day of really icy spring skiing at Santa Fe, I opted to return my skis a day early, expecting to get a refund for the unused time. When I asked about a refund, the tech who checked me in said "We don't do refunds, that's why I always tell people to rent for one day and then just extend the rental so they don't get charged for time they don't use." Alas the different tech who rented me the skis initially neglected to mention that policy to me. While returning I saw the tech who had rented me the skis and asked if he could help me out on a credit or refund. His response was that there were signs up stating there wasn't a refund policy. (There were signs, but I missed seeing them when I rented initially.) So the shop stuck to a policy I wasn't told about and wasn't in the contract I signed, but was on a 8.5x12 inch printout on the wall behind me. To add insult to injury, when I rented my skis, I was going to Taos and was at the shop about 90 minutes before they'd rent me skis for the following day - I think I was there at 12:30 and if I didn't want to wait around until 2PM or something like that they would charge me for Sunday as well. (I was in on a Sunday and skiing in Taos on Monday.) So I paid for 6 days of rentals and only skied 4 days. I guess that's fair, but I'll look elsewhere next time I need to rent skis. read more
