1-star!! Not recommended! Zero stats if I could. Purchased a 2022 Supreme S240 from Sebastian. I was told a story about the original owner was a youth pastor and wanted to downgrade. Was told the boat was just serviced and had two years of factory warranty. First season, boat ran horrible compared to a friends boat, thought it was just an under powered and heavy boat. Next season and 40 hours of use... boat won't get on plane. And is struggling. Replaced fuel filters and they are so seized on that the filter mounts had to be removed because they were corroded on. Took the boat to a more reputable shop and they discovered the spark plugs were fowled and compression in three cylinders were between 130 and 135, the other five cylinders were between 180 and 195. Called the dealership to ask about the service and warranty, at which time they admitted to not telling me the truth about previous owners, warranty status and services that were completed. Was told by the service manger that the compression was checked before I purchased and they all read 190! Now I'm told that the warranty is only transferable one which was done before me and it would have costed $1400. How can you sell a $100,000 boat all based on lies!!! There's no way the service was done based on the filters, Fowler plugs and never has a mechanic seen a V8 motor all read a perfect reading across all cylinders. The service manager burnt me on my last boat by not replacing items that were ordered for warranty and reduced my boats back looking like complete trash!! Run away from them. Spend your money somewhere else. They lie and cheat customers. I've bought two boats from them totaling more than $200.000 and they still treat me like a second rate citizen. Not recommended! Can't say enough great things about Ski Dock and Sebastian in particular. To say he went above and beyond is simply not enough. We were first time boaters and everything was completely new to us. Sebastian took us out on the water twice and gave the most professional instruction ever. He really prepared us. We picked the boat up this past Friday and on Sunday, we took it out by ourselves for the first time. Everything was perfect and we looked like old pros. Yeah, we were nervous, but just kept hearing Sebastian's reassuring voice in our head. I hope that Ski Dock knows how good he is and rewards him for it. As for Ski Dock, they get high marks as well. We had been to two other dealerships closer to our home. One came in with a low price, but there was no personal touch. No taking you out on the water and preparing you. Just pick it up and drive off. No thanks!!! Ski Dock was just a little above the lowest price but with their personal attention to detail, it was a no-brainer on our part. Bought a new boat from here at the beginning of summer and through the buying process everything was great. What they failed to mention is that the boat's required maintenance would be done by the most professionally embarrassing department I've ever dealt with. The service advisors seem to be nothing more than former salesman that that try and distract you from the present issues with a smile and an "I'm sorry" but NEVER actually do what they're supposed to. 1st incident was within 2wks of owning the boat it was required to have its first $400 maintenance but instead the technician decided to destroy my wake rack by flipping my racks out and allowing them to smash against the slip which inevitably snapped a welded joint right off. Instead of the technician notifying me immediately they cleaned up the mess and took the broken rack piece to the shop so we couldn't inspect it for ourselves and had the office call to notify me. Gets even better. For 3-4wks I had to battle the service team to even come up with a plan to get this fixed but to no avail. Eventually I talked to own of the owners and it was finally fixed about 6-8wks after the incident. Mind you I had a wrecked boat for roughly 75% of the first 3mos I owned it. They offered zero compensation zero genuine apologies and at the end of it made me feel as if I was the one who was putting them out and inconveniencing them. And just recently my next maintenance that was performed was a battle for 6wks as well. I was told it would be done 1-2 weeks after speaking and then got the run around for 4wks after that getting every lame excuse in the book as to why they continously drop the ball. Lastly spoke to the sevice manager and owner today but ultimately the result was the same and they're not willing to fix the relationship At the end of the day i have been more than reasonable with them but their sheer lack of professionalism leaves me zero choice but to never do business with them again and for that reason I can't comfortably recommend an outfit that conducts business in this matter read more

Nothing worse than taking your boat to be serviced in April of 2017 and being charged $772.51 for an annual service and and impeller part replacement. Last summer we only used our boat for about 10 hours because I had just had a baby. This past weekend we took our boat out on the lake and it started to overheat so we immediately took it back to the shop. The shop called us today to say that our impeller needed to be replaced. The same part that they charged us $299.99 plus labor for needed to be replaced AGAIN!!?? It leaves me wondering if they even actually did the replacement last year or just charge just for the replacement. To make matters worse they already replaced our impeller yesterday with out verifying that we actually wanted to have the service done at their shop. So we are left to pay an additional $260 for the New impeller that they already replaced. Had they called and told us it was the impeller and they were not going to replace the part that they've already replaced less than a year ago for free we would have taken our business elsewhere, why would I give my business to the same shop that I'm having issues with a part they already replaced once before! My husband is once again waiting for a call back from the shop to "see what they can do" but at this point I am not confidant in this business or the service they provide to people. I'll update my review as soon as we get our boat back and take it to another shop to have a full inspection of what they did and I'll also update my review after our final conversation with the shop. Until then beware of this shop!! There are way to many boat service facilities around Austin to pick one like this! Update: my husbands final conversation with the shop is that they are taking $75 off our total bill for this service. I will say we couldnt get their fast enough to get our boat back. They are giving us back the broken impeller so we can take it to be inspected at another shop. And on a customer service note: my husbands only point of contact this time was Tommy and my husband said Tommy was easy to talk to, not one time did he provide bad customer service or was rude. He was trying to see what they could do to make it right (since they were not replacing for free) and to keep us as a customer. Overall, I would not/will not take back our boat for service at this shop, just because of the issue we had. If you plan to go here just beware, this is our experience and could be a total fluke or not, we will never know! Happy Boating and thankfully we have our boat back!! My final update. I don't give very many 5 star reviews but I do believe Ski Dock deserves them. I bought a new chaparral from them in 2004 and only paid 20K. The boat has performed wonderfully without any repairs at all other than routine maintenance. The sales staff seemed to be very well trained, knowledgeable and they were not pushy which in my mind, very important. I bring my boat in for servicing and everything is done timely, efficiently and any concerns are brought to my attention. Their service department rocks!! I bought a 2018 MB B52 last July, 3 of the seat cushions had small nicks in them that I realized after I had purchased the boat. When I reported this, Thad got me in touch with his service department and said these were covered under my warranty. The service department stayed on top of this, it took a few months but they kept following up with MB and finally got the new skins in. Now I have my boat at a dry dock, when they called to tell me the skins were in and they realized that my boat was not on a trailer, they gladly went to my boat, got the seats covers, took them back to the shop and replaced them and went back and put them on my boat. Great service, hassle free...these guys went above and beyond to make sure this was resolved. read more

I never give out 5 stars but Thad and his team at Ski Dock are amazing. We were in the market for a used runabout and visited with the Ski Dock team at this year's Austin Boat Show. We weren't in a real hurry to buy but they suggested January was a good time to shop for a boat. They were very respectful of our budget and desired boat features and were able to work with a boat owner that had her boat on consignment with them to get a sale price that was good for both parties. Thad met my entire family (including 3 grown kids, a grandma and a spouse) and took us for a test drive before we closed the deal to be sure it met our needs. He was quick to point out some minor issues with the 7 year old boat to make sure everyone was on the same page and there were no post sail surprises. Then they recommended a great marina on Lake Travis for us to rent a slip from. He delivered the boat to the slip, worked with the marina owner to set the lift up for our boat and then met me and my kids there the following weekend to give us personal driving and parking lessons. Yep that's right he took us out on the lake and taught the kids how to drive the boat and me some of the tricks to docking the particular boat. My family is so pleased to have a boat and are all thankful we bought it from Thad and his team. read more

This review pertains specifically to the service department. As a result of being a huge procrastinator, I needed a last minute freeze protection done on my boat back in February when Austin temperatures dropped in to the single digits. They got me in right away and saved my boat from a super expensive repair. While it was there, they even noticed that a bolt was missing from one of my belts and asked me if I had noticed a squeaking noise lately. I told them I had and they explained that the missing bolt was the cause. This may seem like a routine thing for them to catch but the fact of the matter is that I had taken my boat in previously to the dealer I bought it from, who is also the dealer that represents the manufacturer of the boat I own, and they couldn't figure it out. So I authorized that repair as well and they got my boat back to me in better shape than I brought it to them at a very reasonable price. That visit alone gave me a great first impression, but it was my second experience with them that really locked up my 5 STAR rating. Last week, I made plans with several of my buddies to meet out on the lake at 4:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. At just about noon, I went to my storage to grab my boat and make sure I had everything I needed to get out on the lake. As I uncovered the boat, I made a discovery that sent my heart right down into the pit of my stomach. Wrapped around my steering wheel was a Ziploc bag containing all the engine clamps and plugs that keep my boat watertight when they are installed in their proper place. I realized at that moment that they had performed a full winterization of my boat as opposed to the simple freeze protect that I had requested. I have no idea how to put all those pieces back together and I knew the lake trip would have to be cancelled if I couldn't get it back in to the shop. I called back over to the Ski Dock and the service manager told me he would be happy to help, but they didn't have an opening until May 3rd!!! Yikes!!! Fortunately for me, he listened to me when I told them they had made a mistake and I needed his help to fix it. He told me he would look up my file and call me back. Just as he promised, he called back about thirty minutes later and said that he noticed in my file that I had indeed requested a freeze protect only and that he wanted to help me out in order to make up for their mistake. He told me to show up by 2:00 and he would pull a tech off another job and get me fixed up in time to still make it to the lake by 4:30. I showed up right on time and he pulled my boat in immediately. Not only did he get my boat de-winterized, he also noticed a few small leaks that he said were undectable the first time i came in due to the freezing weather, and corrected those for free as well. All of that was done in under an hour and they saved my afternoon on the lake. The Ski Dock service department has just earned a customer for life! read more

I was looking to pre-order a 2022 Yamaha AR190. Yamaha sells all they make and you typically need to put a deposit down months in advance. I called Ski Dock which is the only Yamaha Boat dealer in Austin. I was transferred to Kevin, the finance manager. He told me the specs and pricing weren't released yet for 2022, but I could put down a refundable $1000 deposit and then when the pricing was announced in mid August he would send me the brochure and I could pic the options I wanted. I agreed and he took my $1000 deposit. He said I was the first person in line for that type of boat. Fast forward to August 17th and he sent me the brochure as promised and asked me to pick out the color I wanted and the options. I send them back and asked when the boat would be delivered. The next email was odd with him saying something about how he wouldn't know the date yet as they were 'figuring out the mix of boats that Yamaha was going to give them". That is where things started getting sketchy. He said he didn't know the date yet, then he started not responding to my emails. I called up to speak to him, but he was busy. He returned my call the next day and told me that I would not be getting a boat. They were only getting three 19' boats from Yamaha. Even though he told me I was first in line apparently I was not (lied to me). Waste of my time and energy, and held my $1000 for several months for no reason. Highly unprofessional and lied to me for months. Would never recommend this place. STAY AWAY. read more

Do not take your boat in for service or winterization. Every get the feeling that someone is deliberately charging you for parts that you don't need, a service that wasn't needed or worse yet deliberately sabotage a component of your boat in order to charge you more? You know a place has management issues when they have such a high turn over rate of employees. The signs are there folks; they are as BIG as billboards!! Don't ignore them unless you have money to throw away. Don't even want to go into details but Charlie the service manager must get a HUGE commission for generating false revenue at the customers expense. The pro shop here is such a disappointment. After searching for a specific board from a local company (Shred Stixx) we were told they carried, we went in only to find they do not have any. They push a brand they said was similar, so we took their 'professional' advise and bought it. The board was a doomswell. And at first we were happy with it, it seemed OK, but it quickly dinged up. The top crushed in under our feet, and everytime it was lightly bumped the rails cracked up. We wanted to return it for warranty repair and they said they didn't do that, and that we had to contact the manufacture, so we tried to get in touch with them and we can;t get a phone call back. Super disappointed, should have just looked elsewhere and purchase what we wanted. read more

I purchased a ski boat for $52,000 from Ski Dock. As part of the purchase agreement Ski Dock was to install a $3000 wakeboard tower, and to include a new matching spare tire and rim, install a cradle style spare tire carrier between the framing members of the boat trailer, and a replace a cracked lid on the swim deck. I live in Atlanta and drove to Austin to purchase the boat(14 hour drive). I was told the boat would be ready for me when I arrived. Upon arrival they had not even purchased or installed the spare tire carrier. No big deal. I'll do it when I get home after they ship me carrier. After several phone calls and weeks I finally received the spare tire carrier. As it turns out the carrier sent to me was a cheap $20 bolt to the frame type carrier vs the expensive cradle type of carrier. After complaining to them about the wrong carrier was shipped to me . I was told later that was the best they could do!!! The swim deck lid was not installed either and not ordered prior to my arrival. It was later shipped to ME for ME to install. Now it was time to leave for the long journey back to Atlanta. Less than 2 hours of driving time from the dealership I had FOUR flat tires!!! I was assured they were new tires when I left Ski Dock and the spare was new(as they appeared new). After further investigating of the FOUR FLATS the tires were CHEAPEST tires you can buy. And the tire load rating wasn't even capable of carrying the weight of the boat and trailer. They were severely undersized!!! Serious safety issue for those considering a boat!!!! New tires with proper load ratings had to be purchased at a cost to ME of $600!!!! When I went to use the spare tire for the first time I noticed it wasn't even the right size tire and the rim had rust on it! So much for being new. It was as if they realized last minute they needed a spare for me to leave and grabbed one off another trailer without checking the proper size. Now to the wakeboard tower. Ski Dock claims they had installed "HUNDREDS" of wakeboard towers! After using my boat needing gas. I arrived at a marina for my first fuel fill and was unable to gas up the boat. SKI DOCK installed the wakeboard tower over the GAS cap leaving no room to get the fuel fill nozzle in. I was unable to fill the boat with gas!!! I took the boat to a mechanic and he said he could see where Ski Dock tried to retrofit the cap to gain access to the fill. Ski Dock new of the their error and just sent me on my way. Nearly $500 later it was corrected. Ski Dock employees were great to work with leading up to the purchase agreement. But once the deal was done they were DONE with ME! I was told by an employee to send copies of the my receipts and I would be reimbursed. I sent them promptly. After several weeks of answering machines, emails and texts messages with no response they decided not to reimburse me!!! Claiming their wasn't enough profit in the boat purchase to reimburse me. Hell with the profit! What about the reputation of the business!!!!??? I WOULD NOT EVER CONSIDER DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER AGAIN!!!! IF YOU DO, BUYER BEWARE!!!!! read more

I have been doing business with Ski Dock for the last 3 years since my first boat purchase. I did not buy that boat from them but dealt with the service department many times. I always felt that Charlie, Chase, et al were very helpful and informative as I am a 'hands-on' type person and generally like to do my own maintenance if capable. They always took the time to help me out and explain certain procedures. I've called Charlie before from the water when my boat had a mechanical that prevented me from driving it and he worked me through a temporary fix to so we could use the boat the rest of the day and until I could fix it right. After that, we had series of boat issues after Bull Creek flooded in 2010. Again, they were very helpful and had us back on the water in just a few weeks. In 2011, we had a starter go out on same boat. They were able to meet me at the boat and change it in just a few hours time. Again, saving the day. Recently we purchased a new boat from them. The buying process was easy, I felt we received a good deal, they even sold our old boat and netted us what we needed. Then, on Memorial Day weekend, when they were closed on Sunday, our starter went out. I called all over town and couldn't find anyone open or anyone that had a starter. I reached out to Chase and he ultimately met me at Ski Dock, on his day off, and looked around the parts area to find us a new starter. We drove back to boat, installed starter and were on the water before noon! Ski Dock is where I'll be doing my boating business. I've personally had pleasant experiences with everything from the service department and personnel to the buying of a new boat. read more
