I read the reviews here and they were either really good or really bad. The bad reviews seemed so…read morefar fetched that I decided to give them a chance. BAD IDEA. They diagnosed my outboard last year and told me that I had a bad cylinder. They said that it would cost more money to fix it than it was worth and would replace it with a 150 hp outboard they were about to repossess. I waited patiently for 3 months. I called and called but no one answered the phone. I drove over on a weekend and could not find my boat. I finally had to take time out of my day to go during the day where I found someone who had no clue that my boat was even there. My boat had a tree that fell on it and it was neglected. My insurance didn't cover it because it was in possession of the mechanic. I got some bs story that a former employee took all of their records and $25,000 in cash. The crazy receptionist began to cry. They offered to look at my boat again for free. They told me they weren't going to fix it because if the transom but that's not what they told me last year. They also didn't bother to fill up the tire and the tire popped. Then they had the nerve to put a lock on it and I had to prove that I had paid for the diagnosis from last year. The best part was that I took it to another mechanic who said I had a bad coil. They replaced it for $300 and it's worked fine ever since. BAD PEOPLE, BAD BUSINESS, BAD SHOP. I would sue them but they wouldn't have the money if I won because any money they get goes to pay for their Volvo and meth.

I tried to deal with him in the past, but Wayne thinks that he is the best in the business--and if…read moreyou disagree then he will rudely you to just go away. He charges whatever he thinks is appropriate for his services (most of which are provided by hired help who are not really qualified) and if you say anything about the price he seems angry--his comment to me was that if I didn't trust him to work on my outboard motor then why did I bring it to him--I know that others have had disputes with him, as well, over a long period of time for various problems including leaving their vessel outside and uncovered for periods of time in rain and then heat until the interior was so badly damaged that it required complete replacement. Wayne is a "legend in his own mind"--but not to me. Arrogance and ignorance are not a good way to deal with the general public.

Simply put, if you own a boat, you need Jerry…read more Based on other Yelp reviews - I gave Jerry a call requesting service on my boat. With a few details about make/model & what I needed done - he provided me with a preliminary quote over the phone. He added me to the schedule for 4 days later. Showed up when we agreed & got right to work. When doing that initial work, I asked him to check out some other possible aging parts (my boat is old) & he suggested new spark plugs & distributor cap/rotors. He came back a few days later & got that all done as well. I wasn't there for "part 2" but he sent plenty of photos of the old parts & how they'd worn to confirm (a) he did the work & (b) to indicate it was the correct advice to replace some aging parts. Other great part about Jerry is that he doesn't keep a warehouse of parts. He'll tell you exactly what you need & suggest affordable places to get it. So there's no mark-up on the supplies. If you want to get high-end stuff - that's on you...he'll still suggest Walmart or Amazon for the best price. Lastly - he'll come to you...no need to bring your boat to him. This is especially important for me...we don't own a trailer at all.
