Great company to do business with. The price was excellent compared to a couple of other boat rental places in the area, and they were a pleasure to do business with. They were prompt, courteous, professional. Boat ran great for us the whole week. We will be using them again for sure. read more

Action Marine - Great boats at great prices! - Boating Near Me - Austin, Texas

This is my second experience with Action Marine. They did routine maintenance on my 15 year old Sea Ray and it runs like new. These people are very professional and friendly. To top it all off, prices for the work are very reasonable. I'll be back again! read more

Ive got an old bass boat that needed work on the motor. Friendly crew, and did a high quality job on the work they did. They rebuilt my carbs, did a link and sync, and resealed the lower unit. Again, that work was done well, and that is above all the most important thing you can look for in a marine repair shop. I felt that the price was par with any other marine repair shop. Here's my reason for 3 stars. First, they told me I needed a new impellor and they charged me for a full water pump kit. And on top of that they swapped it and added $100 to the tab without calling me first. Second, they said my steering was frozen and quoted about $200 for a cable replacement. When I got the boat home, I was able to free the steering in about 10 minutes. All it took was a bit of elbow grease and some teflon grease. Third, they had my boat for 3.5 weeks. I will give them another chance if I ever need more repairs and I cant do it myself, since the quality of the work was good. Update: It's been almost a year and a half since having work done here on my motor, a 48hp Evinrude. This thing is precision tuned, never a fuss. Still fires right up, purrs and just throws my 16' bass boat on plane. They called me after seeing my 3 star review asking if I'd give them another chance and I said I would. But they did such a good job the first time I haven't needed them since. read more

I've had my boats serviced here for 20 years. Aaron and Craig are knowledgeable, friendly and TRUSTWORTHY! They have always been fair and helpful even I started doing some upkeep myself. I recommend them to all boat owners I encounter. Great job guys! read more

Craig and Aaron are super helpful and responsive despite being very busy (for good reason). I bought a new motor from them and had them install it and adjust my trailer for my new boat. I would definitely recommend Action Marine. read more

I brought my mastercraft here for a simple oil change. They quoted me cheaper than other shops around, so I thought I'd give it a try. I asked to have it back by the weekend and they prioritized me and had it back in about 1.5 business days! Nice guys and very knowledgeable. read more

I rarely write reviews; based on very good or very poor customer service and quality of work. Action Marine has delivered on both, and exceeded my expectations. Like many, I try to save money when possible while still expecting quality care. I have had issues with my Evinrude outboard and with little experience regarding boats/motors Action Marine has helped me get it running and explained how to maintain what I can, and suggested what they can help with. I've dealt firsthand with all of the guys behind the desk and in the shop. They have been up front about costs and time frames and have suggested what is best for me, and they are thorough in explaining the process; no surprises. This is rare these days. read more

This place is an absolute disgrace. After calling ahead of time and describing my problem of the fuel pump not getting any power I was told to bring my boat in. First I was greeted very rudely and told to stay in my car. Second the only things they did was complain about the work and say they "couldn't make enough money to work on it." What was an urgent matter over the phone now turned into "I can't look at it for another month." I drove over an hour for this shop and had high hopes. PLEASE STAY AWAY! They overcharge and have terrible customer service. read more

I brought my boat to Action Marine for a blown outboard. I did that after receiving two recommendations from some bass club post. This was the week of Fathers Day Weekend. They quickly assessed the condition of the motor and gave me a quote to fix. Luckily depending how you look at it Evinrude motors production is being stopped permanently. I was offered an Evinrude 150 Etec G1, but was told It would perform close to the 97 Johnson 200 I had. My motor was 23 years old when it died. The old motor would go 60 or so, but speed was not my top need for the motor; cost was important. After researching the weight of my boat and the capabilities of the new motor I went with their suggestion. I could not be happier with the results and how quickly they turned my boat around. I was able to have a boat for Fathers Day weekend, and due to discounts offered by Evinrude was able to get a new motor for a little more than the cost of rebuilding my power-head. The boat will go 55 MPH which is plenty fast for me, starts every time and gets up on plane with no issues. I have a 97 Cobra 20' and the graphite colored motor matches well with the color of the boat. Special thanks to the team at Action Marine for working so hard to get my boat back to me for the weekend. We had a great time and you have a customer for life. read more

These guys are legit. Rebuild my Johnson 90 and it has never run better. The final bill was close to $1000 less that the original quote because Chris was able to clean up and reuse some on the parts. After he broke down the engine he asked me to drop by the shop and showed me the damage and what parts he felt were still good, giving me the option to go with all new or with some reused parts. In addition the guys are all friendly as opposed to some motorheads who have no social skills. read more

I have been using Action for multiple seasons, and Chris and the team are a rare commodity in the service space. I have been a repeat customer for over 20 years. Aaron knows his boats and is very customer service oriented. The most important aspect for me is honesty. Aaron and his team are honest about what you need and you can trust them. Sometimes I didn't like it what they were telling me about my old boat, but they have been right 100% of the time and I have had absolutely no regrets in following what they said I needed to have done. I stopped in today (Sunday) and Aaron was there. While they were closed, he still got me a quart of gear oil that I needed. Totally awesome service and support. read more

I highly recommend Action Marine. They do quality work. The owner Aaron Sher and his office staff are extremely helpful. They explain the repairs, are professional and very knowledgeable. It doesn't matter if you have an old boat or a new boat, they take care of their customers. I will continue to use Action Marine for all of my boat maintenance. Also, if you are in the market to buy a boat, I highly recommend visiting Action Marine. They have good boats on the lot, plus they check the boats out before putting them up for sale. They are a very reputable marine shop. read more

"Not interested in your business" was the response I got from Craig when he asked where I bought my boat as I tried to make an appointment to bring it in for repair - and I told him it was purchased at another dealer. For an authorized SeaArk dealer to refuse service for no other reason than because the boat was purchased somewhere else is a very poor way to do business. You are not the only game in town. read more

My boyfriend and I are originally from El Paso and brought our boat here for service, so we weren't sure what to expect. They did a great job on servicing our boat, Craig helped us out and was super kind and professional. The day we picked up our boat we took it to Lake Travis and our battery had died. Fortunately for us, Craig waited for us a few minutes before closing to buy a new battery. We appreciated that so much. He didnt hesitate to help us and we heard it in his voice that he wanted us to have fun on the Lake. Thanks so much! I know for any little issues we have we'll bring the boat back here for service. Hopefully not too soon though lol read more

I brought my boat to them to have it plugged into the computer to find out what codes were coming up. I was told they would do it within 5 days. That came and went, 8 days later still no scan. This was a simple 5 minute procedure. I understand that there were other boats in front of us but they spent more time logging it in to their system than it would have taken to plug the computer in. I ended up taking to Bass Pro Shops who did it immediately and it literally took 5 minutes. I have had work done here before and was completely satisfied which is why I gave 3 stars. I hope this isn't an indication of future performance. read more

Do not go to this place. He gave me a wrong diagnosis and he tried to charge me way too much money. I will never take my boat to him again. read more

Beware!! If Action Marine hits you with a high estimate GET A SECOND OPINION. I recently brought my boat in because it was having trouble starting, the mechanic at Action proceeded to tell me that I had a HydroLock caused by either a bad head gasket or a cracked Intake manifold or a cracked block. He also told me I had water in my oil. The repairs were going to cost a minimum of $3,500 . I checked my oil and did not see that any water had seeped in(it was not milky). At that point I suspected that something was just not right. I took it to a different Shop which tested the engine and diagnosed a bad starter $240 they changed it and boat runs great. Beware of Action Marine. read more
