Simply put, if you own a boat, you need Jerry. Based on other Yelp reviews - I gave Jerry a call requesting service on my boat. With a few details about make/model & what I needed done - he provided me with a preliminary quote over the phone. He added me to the schedule for 4 days later. Showed up when we agreed & got right to work. When doing that initial work, I asked him to check out some other possible aging parts (my boat is old) & he suggested new spark plugs & distributor cap/rotors. He came back a few days later & got that all done as well. I wasn't there for "part 2" but he sent plenty of photos of the old parts & how they'd worn to confirm (a) he did the work & (b) to indicate it was the correct advice to replace some aging parts. Other great part about Jerry is that he doesn't keep a warehouse of parts. He'll tell you exactly what you need & suggest affordable places to get it. So there's no mark-up on the supplies. If you want to get high-end stuff - that's on you...he'll still suggest Walmart or Amazon for the best price. Lastly - he'll come to you...no need to bring your boat to him. they have now had my boat for over three months, and on multiple occasions, the owner has gone silent will not respond that she won't call or text at at this point. I am now on over a week where I cannot get any reply from owner. I'm more than one occasion he told me that he had other clients that had emergency that had to go in front of me. VERY disappointed in TMS and Jerry's lack of communication and response. I've been trying to get him to complete a boat repair since late summer and it's still not complete. He installed two new water pumps, but I can't tell if the work was done properly or not because he did not put the serpentine belts back on. In addition to the water pumps, Jerry had me order a $900 part and has yet to return over a month later. He stopped returning text and calls so I am having a more dependable mechanic finish the work. I don't know what these bad reviews are about. Jerry showed up about 15 mins early, helped me diagnose my bad fuel pump and then spent extra time answering all the burning questions I've had as a first time boat owner, from impeller questions to spark plug questions and even pulled one to show me how to gap it properly. For me, as a mainly do-it-yourself boat owner, Jerry was a wealth of knowledge, was prompt, extremely helpful and now my boat is running great after just paying his diagnostic/travel fee and then probably overspending on parts from a local boat dealer and installing the fuel pump myself. I should say he offered to find me the parts online and give me the part numbers and all that, which is awesome; I'm just impatient and sourced locally to get on the water as fast as possible. Complete fraud. Did not properly change oil on boat ended up with damage. Then he ghosted.

Same thing as the guy below. Jerry came recommended through a friend. I have an older boat, used him regularly and he was great for 2 years. After he winterized my boat in 2020, the block cracked from the February freeze of 2021. Was this his fault, IDK but it doesn't matter because insurance covered it. He removed the block and was supposed to ship it off to be repaired in July. The total bill was $6k and he asked for half as a deposit. Fair enough. Only, after I paid I discovered that the remainder goes directly to the 3rd party shop. So, he got paid in full before he did the work. Fast forward to November and the block still has not been shipped, he has over $3k of my money, my engine block and won't return my calls. He gave excuses several months ago about his dad dying and not having service where he was in Mexico. Total bull@#*t. Unlike the others below who he screwed in the same manner, I HAVE hired an attorney and will spend my loss several times over to bring him to justice. He's about to get F#@ked and hopefully ran out of business for good. Stay away from this scammer. read more

We paid Jerry $2k down and provided $1500 in parts and he skipped out on us. He initially would pick up his phone and would give us excuse after excuse why he couldn't finish the work. Eventually he stopped returning calls. After not responding for over 2 months, we had to pick up our boat. Parts were no where to be found and either was he. I called the police and they said he's done this many times. He's a scammer and knows what he's doing. Because we gave him the money he and the parts, it's a civil issue and not criminal. Rather than sped more time and money chasing him down with a PI, I just gave up. Stay clear of this guy or you may risk losing money, time, parts, and even your boat. read more

Jerry is amazing. My husband and I were trying to DIY fix our broken boat lift motor today on Lake Austin, and our of nowhere, Jerry pops up (he happened to be working on the boat next to ours) and asked if he could help. We said sure, and he immediately jumped up and began investigating the problem. He didn't stop working until he had identified and fixed the problem (this involved trips to the car to get different tools etc). What a nice guy. He never asked to be paid (though we gladly tipped him the very little money we had on us). We grabbed his card, and cannot wait to start using him for all our regular boat maintenance and lift maintenance. The concept of a concierge boat mechanic sounds convenient, but what happened to my boat was nothing more than inconvenient. The original quote was $1500. After one day of work and "proper instillation of the new part" Jerry, the boat mechanic, went to check his work and broke another part of the engine. A more expensive part. Jerry says "these things happen with boats, but I can fix it for an additional $3500.00". No apology and no remorse after he admitted to breaking the part and he didn't offer to fix it for free considering he broke it himself. After taking the boat to a marina mechanic, they said it was nearly impossible to do what Jerry did. And when Jerry was called to discuss the matter, he's no where to be found.
