I could muster an unoriginal joke regarding the how big of a mouth you need for a big mouth…read moresandwich. Consider yourself spared. I shall jump straight to the good stuff: the sandwiches. Listen, st louis has no shortage of sandwich shops, so to be successful you need to offer a unique enough product that is still approachable, and reliable. Big mouth has mastered the game. The menu is inundated with options inspired by tried and true classics. However, they do not stop there. Each sandwich is inventive enough to create some separation from it's origin. This keeps the experimenters happy, while also catering to the more tame of tastebuds. I went prosciutto. It was incredible. Thin pear, whipped ricotta, pesto, and that salty, thin prosciutto. Every bite gave me a little something different. Some bite had a big crunch full of juicy pear accentuated by the tang of balsamic. Others had a bit of sweetness from the sugars released in the pear juice and caught by the vibrant pesto. Some bite were buttery, with the help of the prosciutto sliced thin enough to read all of the perennial accolades adorning the back wall. The focaccia is art. A dark crust, one you do not see on focaccia. With mega flakes of sea salt. It was fresh out the toaster so as i gripped my sandwich warmth was sent from the tips of my fingers throughout my body as every bite delivered a crunch i am certain the folks dining outside could hear. A legit option in a city with limitless options when it comes to meat between bread

The sandwich was incredible in every way from the super piled on ingredients to the fluffy crisp bread. It's all tucked inside of a loft apartment building so the view of this place is sort of hidden. (In a good way.) Sort of feels like you've jumped from south city into a private beer club with great sandwiches. The outside seating is nice too. Would be a great place to bring some upper scale friends. Nothing here is cheap, so please don't come if you're expecting cheap! I highly recommend it.

That's Garden Variety Deli. Genuinely kind, cool people who are passionate about their food--and it shows! Every ingredient is perfection and it's a good thing I don't live closer or those cookies would become a daily ritual. Plus, farm-to-table produce means you can safely get a salad here even when regular lettuce is apparently giving everyone diarrhea. Stop in and get a killer sandwich and baked goods from these fine folks!

I had already decided on going with Turkey, again but when I went to the counter to order they were out of the turkey. The staff manning the counter suggested the Roast Beef. I was skeptical as I have my favorite roast beef sandwiches, but I went with it. They are super friendly here and everything is so fresh! I had to go with their suggestion. I added on a peach scone. Took a seat at the counter by the window, grabbed a glass of water from the dispenser and read me book and watched the people till my sandwich was ready. All the sandwiches come on their house made focaccia and it is very good! Roast beef, romesco, pickled radish, aioli, and greens. It was a delicious sandwich, I loved the pickled radish and the whole sandwich had great flavor and freshness that you could taste - just like everything I have had here. I ate half and saved half for lunch the next day. I like scones as they are a nice dough but not overly sweet. This one had great texture and crumb. Love this place, the people and the food are great!

From the second we walked in, the guy at the front was extremely friendly and greeted us immediately, which set the tone right away. The food was beyond exceptional. The bread was phenomenal, the ingredients were incredibly fresh, and you could tell the meat was sliced thin and prepared with care. Everything tasted high quality and made fresh to order. The service was amazing from start to finish. Definitely one of the best sandwich spots I've had in a long time. Highly recommend!

This location is on the edge of Soulard near the brewery. It's a bar with another room with tables and a kitchen that serves Ninth St Deli. Ceci came to our table and brought menu's and chatted with us about the location. She was great, so enthusiastic about everything. She explained sandwiches and offerings and took our order. I got the pick two with half a hot sandwich and chili. The food came, and it was decent. I thought the sandwich could have used more chicken. The chili was ok, too. Ceci was so great she made the experience great.
