We booked the bike about a week in advance for a full day for $65, and it was ready for pickup when we arrived. The staff did a safety inspection and let us know that helmets are included with the rental and that we could return the bike to any Sports Basement location. My friend also asked if they could leave their backpack there, and the staff kept it behind the desk, which was really nice. The bike was in good condition! We rode it for 4-5 hours with no issues. A few things I wanted to point out - the seat was pretty narrow and hard, which made it uncomfortable to sit on. It had been a while since I last biked, so I'm not sure if I just need to wear padded shorts or if the seat wasn't the right fit for me. Another thing is that I couldn't sit in the front because the seat was too tall for me to comfortably reach the pedals, and there didn't seem to be an easy way to adjust the height. Lastly, it would've been nice to have a phone mount on the handlebar for navigation. We turned in the bike at the end of the day. Overall, the process was very smooth, the staff were friendly, and the rental was affordable. I would do it again, but I'd wear padded shorts next time :)

Updated review, but same great experience at Sports Basement!…read more I went with my son to purchase a new bicycle and had a great experience. We went not completely sure which bike we wanted or the best fit. The staff working was very informative and spent a lot of time explaining options and tradeoffs. I appreciate they didn't just push us to the most expensive options. Rather, they took the time to understand his preferences and use for the bike and then made a few recommendations. They were very patient the entire time, letting him test ride multiple bikes until he found the perfect one. We had such a great experience that we went back to purchase a second bike later that evening!

My orders are accurate, they are made in a timely manner, and Yogi is such a delight to work with. Unfortunately, I attempted to reach out to the business multiple times via phone call and even emailed. I never got through once!! The phone line just rings and rings and RINGS!! I made the decision to physically stop by because I really needed to get the ball rolling on my order. I am met with a lady behind the counter who doesn't speak or understand English too well. I asked if Yogi was available and she responded with him not being in. I asked if he would be in tomorrow, and again, she responds with "no". I ask if there is any other employee who could assist in my custom order and she continuously responds with "I don't know. I don't know. I don't know." This was such a waste of time and now I am scrambling to find another store that can accommodate and accurately deliver my order. 3 stars because I genuinely like this place and have been a long time customer for YEARS!! I'd come back to buy tees & sweaters but it looks like any customizations are at a complete standstill. Don't waste your valuable time...

Right when you walk in, they had a big section of 49er apparel and accessories. I really loved the selection of hats they had. I was hoping they would have more offerings of women's apparel, but the selection they had was small. There was a 49er top with red sequence all over it. It was beautiful but they only had two of them and neither were my size. The price for the top was $75, which I thought was a bit expensive. I decided on two 49er hats for myself and my husband. I headed to the checkout and was immediately helped. I asked to young lady at the checkout if they had more offerings for the 49er gear. She directed me to the back of the store where she said there were more items. I paid for my hats and then went to the back of the store where she suggested. There was a section there, as she claimed, but it was all football jerseys priced at $130 and above. I was happy with the purchase of the hats and left the store. It might be better to check online first before going to the store to find 49er gear for women.

(Then again..the whole online shopping experience lets me avoid the craziness of parking...). In this particular situation, I wanted to get pants that i had bought from Athleta hemmed, so needed to venture out and find an Athleta store. The salespeople were super nice and not in your face kind of sleazy sales people :). They had me try in the pants I wanted hemmed and safety pinned them, and then there is the option of having the pants sent to your home for free (rather than picking them up from the store). Athleta for the win! If you haven't worn Athleta clothes, basically once you've tried them, you probably will be back! So comfy and environmentally friendly and they are all about women empowerment and diversity. So why wouldn't you want to support that AND wear comfy and cute workout clothes ? They have semi annual sales which make the clothes more affordable, as well as ongoing sales. I'll probably be back if I need to get more hemming done!

I had to use a restroom so we were going to grab a coffee and use the bathroom since we had time before they opened. Someone (I'm assuming store manager) started accosting us about it being only athleta parking and we aren't allowed to be there. There was plenty of street parking we could have parked at but we were gonna shop there after. (They aren't even opened yet). So we moved the car to street parking right next to the parking lot to appease her demands. Anyway, you can clearly see I'm pregnant and needed to use the restroom very badly. Felt awkward to go back and give them the business. Needless to say the parking lot sheriff left a bad taste and this is why everyone shops online. Poor customer service. Women should support other women.

Yikes...I am reading the reviews left by the other Yelpers and I hope that since a lot of time has…read morepassed things have changed for employees and other shoppers. Most of the times that I go into this store is because I have bought something online and I need to make a return. I have never had any issues returning any items. I plan my visits and come to the store on a weekday or really early on the weekend to avoid the crowds that gather here and also at the Great Mall. Prior to returning any of the items, I walk around the store to see if there is anything that I would like to purchase so I can stand in line once and return and/or purchase at the same time. Over the years I have bought things at this store. You can find some good deals, sometimes better than their online store, sometimes not. It just depends on when you make the purchase and if you are maximizing on their sales events. Does this store cause me to have some mild anxiety because it is always messy chaotic, yes. But, since I have business to take care of with my returns than I momentarily turn a blind eye and do what I have to do. I love the brand and want to continue purchasing and will continue to support if I dont have to worry about returns.

We went to return the items bought from online.I am writing to express my deep concern and outrage…read moreregarding a profoundly disturbing experience I had at your Columbia store located at Great Mall in Milpitas, CA. What should have been a routine return of a few online-purchased items quickly escalated into a humiliating, disrespectful, and frankly alarming incident that has left a lasting negative impression of the Columbia brand. Upon arriving at the store to process the return, the cashier was immediately rude and dismissive. Rather than assisting us courteously, he treated me with suspicion and hostility, as though I were attempting something fraudulent. Without offering any explanation, he called over additional staff to inspect the return -- making me feel publicly scrutinized and accused, without cause. The situation worsened dramatically when the store manager, who identified himself as Donovan, got involved. His behavior was shockingly unprofessional and disrespectful. When we asked for clarification about why we were being treated so poorly, he claimed--incorrectly--that we were attempting to return more than 10 items, which was simply not true. He then demanded to inspect my phone to verify the credit card used for the online purchase. While I cooperated in good faith to resolve the situation, he proceeded to browse through private sections of my phone, including my account information and unrelated order history, without my permission. When I objected to this blatant invasion of privacy, his response was dismissive and increasingly hostile. When I rightfully asked for an apology for the incorrect accusation and invasive behavior, he escalated the situation further by threatening to call mall security to remove us from the store, effectively weaponizing his position rather than resolving the matter professionally. He also declared that he could refuse service at will, regardless of company policy or customer rights. He then flatly denied the return without legitimate grounds. This incident was not only humiliating and disrespectful -- it was a violation of basic customer rights and personal privacy. We have never been treated in such an aggressive and unethical manner by any retail staff in our lives. The conduct displayed by both the cashier and the manager was hostile, unprofessional, and deeply damaging to the Columbia brand. We have filed a formal complaint with Columbia's corporate office (Case #000552987), but I feel it is important to stress the severity of this matter. If this is how customers are treated for simply making a return, I can no longer in good conscience support or recommend Columbia products.
