Fun experience! My best friend and I went on a Friday during the Home School Skate (1PM - 3PM). The admission cost ($8.28 due to credit card fee) included the cost of skate rentals. During different times, you may have to pay to rent the roller skates. It wasn't too busy during this time which I am grateful for. They played good music and would sometimes dim the lights to project some fun disco lights. My friend ordered medium fries (about $4) and got a cup of ice water (about 50 cents). The fries were aight. It came with a cup of ketchup. Nothing special but a nice treat. read more

It's a fun place for indoor skating. They play good music and have fun lights to make it lively. There's nothing super special about it just good old school roller skating fun. They have a calendar with a variety of events or specials like a slice of pizza and a drink included with your skate pass. Check out the calendar before visiting so you know what to expect. read more

I love this place! My daughter and I enjoy spending time together and it brings back that nostalgic feeling of going skating as a kid.

I fully expect this review may be buried or deleted, but if I can save even one local family from experiencing the embarrassment and hostility my guests and I faced today, it will be worth it. I brought a group of 14 children to celebrate a birthday on a Sunday. Because official party packages were booked out (and wildly overpriced for a mere 45-minute window), I took the initiative to call days in advance. I spoke directly with the General Manager, Casey, to give a heads-up that a large group of 25+ (including parents) would be paying general admission. I explicitly agreed to their rules: tables were first-come, first-served, and there was a strict no-outside-food policy. Unfortunately, compliance meant absolutely nothing to the staff or management. From the moment we arrived, we were treated less like paying patrons and more like inmates under surveillance. The Experience: Hostile Greeting: Before even being greeted at the counter, a staff member scolded me for holding balloons and a clear personal water cup. I was told balloons are only permitted for "official" paid parties. The "No Gift" Policy: When my guests arrived, they were stopped at the front desk and barred from bringing in birthday cards or gift bags. They were forced to walk back to their cars to leave presents for a child. When I asked GM Casey to show me where this "policy" was listed, he smirked, rolled his eyes, and dismissively said, "It's policy." Targeted & Inconsistent Enforcement: While my guests were turned away at the door with gift bags, I observed multiple other patrons walking freely around the facility with them. When pointed out, Casey condescendingly snapped, "Do you know if they are here for a party?" and continued to roll his eyes. Overbearing Surveillance: Throughout the afternoon, my guests were repeatedly scolded for simply holding water near (not on) the rink, and even reprimanded for taking quick photos of their kids near the floor. Unprofessional Behavior: To cap off the aggressive atmosphere, I witnessed GM Casey physically snatch a cupcake out of an adult patron's hand and throw it into the trash, rather than professionally asking the guest to discard or consume it outside. It was shocking and utterly uncalled for. The Bottom Line: A business reflects its leadership. Casey's arrogant, defensive, and power-tripping demeanor has clearly trickled down to his staff. When I asked for a partial refund since I never even skated myself, he tapped the counter and pointed to a "no refunds" sign. When asked for the owner's information, he aggressively rattled off a first name and a generic email address (Lynn@skatenfunzone.com). Collectively, my group spent over $400 today, only to be met with suspicion, hostility, and embarrassment. Being the only rink in the immediate area does not give management a license to treat local families like garbage. In today's economy, customer service matters. Do not spend a dime here until senior leadership undergoes serious re-training. read more

An absolute great time... Let's just start there. We came on Thursday, which is adult skate night (7:30pm to 10pm). During this time, admission is $9 with skate rentals at $5.50. So, it is very affordable. The rink is spacious with the venue offering both rollerblades and roller skates. The crowd gives fun, free spirited, and lighthearted. Then the music is a vibe! Great first experience. Will definitely be back. read more

This rink has gone down over the years and is boring, the music never changes, and the staff act above their pay. And don't even get me started on the pricing for food. Save your money and go to a different rink if you want to actually have fun. read more

Office staff great promise but nothing happens. The problem is with the pick up. It's very inconsistent and I've been two weeks without any service. husband had to take the trash to the dump himself and pay for it. This is not good. read more

Unfortunately, this is the only roller rink in Northern Virginia and the staff who operate the business do not have a customer focus. We went for the Super Skate on December 26th and it was very poorly run. The manager would not let us pull 2 tables together for a party of 8 to eat the lunches we purchased at the rink, when another smaller group did the same. Families spilled food and drinks on the skate floor, which caused accidents. Announcements were not made for slow skaters to stay in the center of the rink and let the faster skaters have the outside lane, which caused accidents. Skaters were sitting on the side with their feet out in the rink, which caused accidents. I skate often, in several different states, and this was the worst run operation I've seen! Instead of getting bossy about pulling tables together for a large family to eat, how about you do the important job of keeping skaters safe and ensure people follow the rules? If people do not follow the rules, then they need to be asked to leave. Many accidents and injuries were completely avoidable with a well-run operation. It is really sad this is the only roller rink in Northern Virginia! read more

Wow! I haven't gone roller skated since I was in high school! I came here recently with friends and I was pleasantly surprised. The price for admission and skate rentals were reasonable. The music was great. A mix from old school to current top 20. The staff was helpful. They were quick to the rescue for those that fell. There was a lot of falling! If you haven't been roller skating ever, or its been years, it certainly would be useful to take a little lesson. I really enjoyed myself and watching the more experience skaters of all ages free style and practice their moves. They have snacks like fries, nachos, soda, etc. read more

This will be short and sweet tackling just the highlights. Pros - The rink is well maintained. - There are a ton of options other than skating such as a kiddie play area, laser tag, an arcade, and other small games. - Each time we've been, the rink isn't too congested. - For those that can't skate well and may need some help they have skate aids that stabilize you as you skate. However, they're not free but are $5 to rent. - I've seen some of the staff were masks. - The floor refs are nice and help divert traffic when a child, or an adult, falls on the rink. Cons - The staff (not the floor refs) show no personality ever. The only personality I've seen is when they tell you that you can't do something or "no," which is a lot. - The manager strolls around like a warden in a prison, instructing his prison guards (floor refs) on what they are not doing right and ready to overcorrect the smallest infraction made by the prisoners, I mean patrons (infractions such as no outside drinks, no standing on the border walkways, and no stopping on the outer areas of the rink where no one is skating). - The food and drinks are outrageously priced, like Disney overpriced. For example, a bottle of water is $4. However, you can get a small cup of water for .50 (see picture). I might be back to give it one more try but only time will tell. read more

The kids mostly had fun, but when you treat the parents as children, guess who isn't coming back. Don't forget the parents have the money to keep your business going... If the parent is treating you the staff respectfully, then it should be reciprocated. No food and drink from outside, fine. However, this place has more restricted items than the TSA. Then it's posted no re-entry, so where are we left... Ive traveled the world and have no issue with following rules that apply to the correct age group. Some parents are involved in the lives of their children and will not just drop them at your doorstep as a daycare, instead we join in the activities. I will check back occasionally to see if you have modernized some rules, but l'm not pressed on returning to an establishment run by children and ridiculous, arbitrary rules. read more

My husband and I as well as our 9 and 6 year old had such a blast here! We went for open skate in the afternoon on a day the kids had off from school. Staff were friendly, lockers were only 25 cents! Decently priced for rentals ($5) and admission ($10). Good music selection, mostly hits that are recognizable and fun to dance and sing along to. Food is overpriced so plan to eat before going- there are ton of food places nearby. Water cups are 50¢ and the water fountain is broken. There is no time limit for your tickets and a play area for small children is included with admission. There is an arcade (pay for coins). Enjoyable overall, especially when there's a crowd read more

We just had a birthday party at this location and it was absolutely MISERABLE. It is 72 degrees out and they have no A/C! We were all dripping sweat before we even skated and did laser tag. The kids were struggling to breathe after laser tag because it was so hot and stuffy. When we asked about the AC we were told they aren't allowed to turn it on because it is winter and the owners won't allow the management to turn on the AC no matter how hot it is! How absurd! I will never come back. They care more about saving money on air conditioning than the comfort and safety of their customers! SHAMEFUL!! read more

This is not a review for skating because we unfortunately could not make it past the parking lot. Unless you are visiting this establishment at a non-peak time, the parking situation is atrocious. There are very few spots and they fill up quickly. My son and I visited on a rainy weekend and stepped in the most massive puddle immediately outside of the front entrance. It was unexpectedly deep and thoroughly soaked our shoes and socks - above ankles - so that we had to go home even after FINALLY getting a parking spot after waiting 15 minutes. They need to fix this pothole or block it off when it rains. Unfortunately, we weren't able to skate so I don't have any comments to share about my experience. My son visited this facility on a summer camp trip last year and had a great time (on a non-busy weekday). read more

Love that they have adult night! Great place to have fun and enjoy reliving my childhood

Amazing experience! I really like the rink it was very smooth! The service was so nice!

A nice skating rink in the area. I would say, it is comparable to other skating rinks I've been to in MD and VA. I liked that it was less crowded compared to some that I have been to in MD. I also haven't seen roller blades available to rent also. It's nice you have options. I came on news years Eve and it was a fun time, not too crowded and great music to skate to. Staff were friendly. Other skaters were also very friendly and overall vibes were great. I did not try any of the food as it looked like typical fast food type items like any other rink. I am planning to sign up for the adult classes on Thursdays to learn better skating skills. I will update my review after trying the classes. read more

Discovered this hidden gem in the NOVA area. First of all, you come here to have fun and yes, the kids are expected to already know how to skate, so don't come here trying to yap about their mask policy, or expecting them to help your kids learn how to skate. If you are scared, then stay home then. I much prefer the choice of not having to wear a mask, so that my kids can breathe and have fun while they're sweating it off. The food here is decent tasting and have decent prices. They do have workers there who keep the traffic flowing. To rent skates it's $5 and it's $7 to skate all day, and no in and out privileges. You can't even bring bottled water in here, which I think is a big downfall of the place. They are really pushy about their drink policy there. The lights are turned off every 15 minutes or, so which we find really cool because no one can look at you fall on your behind. I think for the price you are paying you get a lot of bang for your buck here, especially in the NOVA area. read more

In summary, stay far away from this place and their extremely unprofessional and incompetent staff. Visited Skate N Fun Zone for the first (and last) time with my 3 children and little to no accommodations were made to assist them as beginner skaters. After attempting to help them on the rink, rather than letting let explain myself and assisting the children, instead, the staff very quickly and rudely screamed at me to get off of the floor. I left within 15 minutes of arrival and I cannot wait to demand a refund. read more

Absolutely adore this place, the staff, and the vibe. After being out of the rink since I was about 13 in the early 90's, I came with my husband to skate a few weeks ago. We have been addicted and drive an hour from Fxbg, past a popular skate spot in Stafford, to come here sheerly for the good vibes we get from coming. We started lessons with KC this week and are very pleased with the bang we are getting for the buck! Very informative and instructive. Each member of the staff has been extremely kind and helpful. Skate N Fun Zone is highly recommend for beginners and jammers alike. read more

Still a nice place but TERRIBLE COVID response. They have signs at the entrance saying that masks are required while inside the building. However once you pay for entry and get inside you realize that is far from the truth. When I asked why one adult was allowed to skate maskless I was told that they weren't required while skating. Then I noticed there were a number of other adults sitting around, also without a mask, several of the staff were going around either without masks or with their noses uncovered. I'm thinking that while people are still dying from a disease it might be prudent for at least the people who work there to adhere to their stated policies. If nothing else it might set a good example. read more

Ok, look--it's fun. My kids had a blast. With that said, there is absolutely not one singular f*%k given regarding COVID-19. In fact, after visiting three weeks ago, my sister believes she was exposed here. Not one person was wearing a mask. However, if you are a parent with littles who do not know how to skate (as in, this is their first time ever), be prepared to strap on some skates and get out there and learn with them. I had to do just that when I took my 4 & 6 yo girls. They offer roller blades or roller skates for rent, and they have these super cheesy & flimsy assistance "walkers" that are made of PVC with wheels on the bottom for beginners. I had a great time but I think it's significantly overpriced for what it is. The "arcade" is subpar, you can't even call it an arcade. Around 80% of the games were "out of order" & the other 20% that were working were dumb and expensive to play. I didn't try the food--rule of thumb; check out the bathrooms, If the establishment can't be bothered to keep them decently clean, just know that the kitchen is probably about the same. read more

This place is a ball of fun for kids and kids at heart. Skate N Zone includes arcade games and laser tag in addition to a wide area for skating. It is practically free fun for skating. Wednesday night you can roller skate for $1.99 (not including skate rental). All skate levels are in the rink and everyone is respectful. The venue is pretty old, but you can tell it has been maintained. They have an after school program for kids that I would have loved to be a part of if I grew up in Manassas. Definitely a must visit. There's a little something for everyone. I wish the arcade had better quality machines. The environment was very family friendly. This is not a bad little skating rink at all. Roller skating seems to be a thing of the past, but I still enjoy getting out and doing it when I have a free night...especially when it's cold and snowy outside. Little kids will love this! It's a pretty clean facility. It's a pretty large rink. They have an assisted device you can rent for an extra fee for children who are just learning to skate. Sometimes they turn on the disco balls. Music is great! Prices are competitive. I recommend! read more

This is a pretty clean, relatively modern rink. I went for adult night and appreciated the ability to skate without a bunch of kids everywhere. Playlist was interesting. It definitely needs an update. Can we get more upbeat and modern songs? Throw us a bone with Britney or '*NSYNC or some current songs. Just because we're older doesn't mean we need to be stuck in a time machine. The two staff members working the whole place that night were very nice. I saw a fair amount of people wearing masks and there was enough room to keep distance if needed. If you're an inline skater, I would bring my own skates. Their inline rentals are plastic and extremely heavy. Also for sizing, the foot mat at the skate rental window will help you with sizing. I'm a size 7, but had to get size 5 skates. Overall, it was ok, but quite a hike for people who live in MD. read more

I was back to Skate N Fun Zone after 15 years. The place was less crowded and more clean. The rollers skates looked brand new. The floor seemed very nice and the personnel skate around and assist people. Came stuffed from a nearby restaurant so it was good to get some exercise on (what seems to be a perpetual) rainy day. My low standard of not getting injured was exceeded because I actually had fun skating. It was nothing like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr4O3dJcWm0&feature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVEVuNZ7bcE&feature=youtu.be because you had little kids falling around you all the time and everybody seems to be an advanced beginner like myself. read more

Old school skating with a slight update, which is just right. It's a nice option for the parents to be able to have a beer or a glass of wine if you are camping out here for hours with your kids. My only complaint, no fee refills on the soda. $3.50 for a "large" soda, which is probably 16 ounces and no free refill? At like 6 cents a serving it seems like a petty minor thing to try to nickel and dime families and kids on that come here and spend decent money on everything else. read more

I did not have a good experience when coming in for the party. I had not been there and the people working acted as if I should know what to do. We could not put our things in the party room as they had another party that ran over. They barely gave us a 1/2 hour to eat the pizza, eat the cake and leave the room. I call ahead time to order some other platters and I was told to let the staff know when I got to the rink. When I arrived and tried to order, I was told it must be done ahead of time and not before the party. It was super disappointing. To be fair the rink is well kept and they spray the shoes immediately after someone brings them in. I would go again but definitely not to host a party there. read more
