My hairdresser was horrible. I was wearing a mask and she told me I could take it off, I told her that I have high risk people in my family and I would rather not. She proceededs to rant about how they don't work and Covid is a scam and how she burned her masks in a fire, and how she also got Covid and it's not as bad as people say. TL;DR - went in to dye my hair from black to light brown. Stylist accidentally dyed it black all over again and still charged me $200. Went in there with healthy black hair...left with damaged black hair and $200 less. I went there to make my hair go from black to light brown. I showed my stylist pictures of what I wanted and she seemed confidant that she could do it. She first bleached my hair which went very well. The color lifted perfectly and she was pleased that we could def dye my hair light brown. Then she put in the brown hair dye. By this point I had been there for 3 hours. It is a long process but I was excited for the end result. When she washed it out she stopped talking about from the look on her face she was definitely concerned. I saw why when she took me to a mirror. She had dyed my hair black Black I came in with black hair...she had bleached it and now had accidentally re-dyed it black. She said, "ohhh when it was wet I was worried that I had dyed it black again but maybe it's just a dark dark brown? I'm sorry." She told me that if I went home and washed it 3x a week with a strong shampoo that the color should fade with time. But I didn't ask for black hair I asked for light brown lol. A month has passed since and my hair is still very much black. I reluctantly paid $200 because I felt sorry for the stylist, I was in shock and I didn't want to cause a scene but the more that I think about it I feel totally ripped off and it's depressing. Also my hair is now EXTREMELY damaged from the bleach. It feels like straw. I paid $200 just to damage my hair but it looks the same. Not gonna lie I have cried a little about it because I'm thinking about what else I could have done with those $200 and now my hair feels like straw. I regret ever going there. I have attached a photo of what my hair looked like right before I went into the salon (curly hair), one from right after I left and returned to my car (straight hair) as well as what my hair looked like bleached to show that the original color did lift well enough to dye it a light brown and finally the reference photo that I showed the stylist. Please tell me does the final photo look like what I asked for and would you have paid $200 ? read more

The best place I have been too. I live an hour and 15 minutes away and it is worth the trip. It has been over a year since I have been there due to work and school,, but this is the first place I found where the atmosphere is great and the cut was awesome! Gretchen is very talented. She was the first stylist to ever cut my hair right. I took my grandma there last year on her birthday to get a cut and perm, they were so great with her. I appreciated that so much. I set an appointment for consultation on hair extensions for hair loss. The receptionist assured me that their consultant was very knowledgeable about hair loss and the different options they offer. When I got to the salon, the "consultant" did not know anything about Microlines System that they advertised on their website. She had no clue what I was talking about. I asked all the different hair extension methods but all she could offer me was clip-in extensions! This was not the first time I have experienced this type of service. About 10 years ago, I was told by the "consultant" they have nothing for my hair loss even though they had big signs in their salon that they were experts in dealing with hair loss. I thought after 10 years they would be better and I gave them another shot. They false-advertised just to draw more clientele since hair loss is a very common issue but they have no experience and knowledge at all. read more

The location itself is very nice and spacious inside. Has a sort-of beach inspired decor. Coffee, sodas, snacks all available for purchase. I had a french vanilla coffee that was quite good. Staff is very friendly and nice. I was able to book an appointment online with no trouble. I got a cut and shampoo. The stylist was very professional and nice. After I got home I decided that I didn't quite get what I wanted with the cut. I was able to go back in and get a re-cut from the owner. Let me just say that I found it sooo worth driving the 45 minutes from my residence in south st. Louis county to Collinsville for my appointment. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It was clean, inviting and the staff was great. I didn't really have a set plan on what I wanted done, and my stylist, Amber, did an excellent job of helping me narrow down a color and knew exactly the cut I was looking for. I was also pleasantly surprised, as I was prepared to pay over 100 dollars for a cut and color and I had not reached that threshold. if I had any complaint at all, it would be that parking is very limited and I parked a couple blocks away. It's about a half hour drive for me (I know, not as bad as a couple of the other reviewers), but Nicole is much better than any other stylist I've had at other places. My hair always looks great when I leave. The owners did a great job on decorating the shop interior, and I love that the scheduling system will send me a text as soon as I set an appointment and a reminder email a day or two before my appointment. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! Let me first start by saying The people in this salon will not think twice about lying to you. I called to see about having my makeup airbrushed for my engagement photos on Saturday the 11th of June 2016 they told me they do airbrush make up and that it stays much better than regular makeup in the heat. So I went ahead and booked my appointment and when Saturday came it was blazing hot so I was super excited to be getting my makeup all airbrushed and to hook beautiful in my pictures with my Fiancee. Well I went to have my make up done and they take me to the back room to do my make-up (the mirrors were behind me and way off to my left so I could watch the lady do jack) I had a picture of exactly what I wanted done because I love love love pictures when it comes to having my hair or my make up done. So after I showed her the pictures I told her how excited I was to have the airbrush make up done and asked her what she thought and if it would hold up better and she wasnt very friendly and said yea it should hold up fine. so I shut up and let her do her thing she started picking out colors with the regular naked eye powders (that I have at my house) after she finished she needed to wipe it off because it was all purple instead of the pink I asked for. she went back up to the front to get a makeup wipe and wiped all the makeup off my eyes then still continued with the regular powder eye shadow once she finished with that she then used to air brush machine for approx 2 seconds on my face( I couldn't see even what she was doing with the machine but air blew on my face) Then she walked back over and grabbed her powder contouring kit (again the same as I have in my make up kit) and finished my make up with the powders. So by the time she was finished my make up did not look airbrushed it looked like I would wear on a typical day nothing special all the flaws of a small break out on my chin covered as I do. So I was in a hurry and paid and left I thought I am going to call and see if I asked if the blush the eye shadow and contouring is supposed to be airbrushed, So I called today and asked the girl that answered (Casey) what their airbrush make up entailed. She told me that it was foundation blush and EYE-SHADOW. So I asked how much it costs to ensure they did charge me for airbrush when really they didn't do airbrush make up on me. she says it starts at $42 (hmm that's what I paid) So I said well I have a question... I had an airbrush makeup appointment and got my make up done last Saturday and they used the regular naked eye pallet and contouring kit powder she says "they didn't airbrush anything on you?" So I told her Well since there isn't a mirror anywhere for me to even see what shes doing they turned the airbrush machine on for maybe a total of 5 seconds I couldn't tell you what she actually airbrushed but air did blow on my face. She said hold on and let me look into this for you. After being on old for a few minutes she comes back and says to me that was right they only airbrush foundation. Yup thats right she totally lied to me either to just tell me what I wanted to hear to get me to come in and pay for their so called airbrush makeup or just to get me off the phone. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! No matter what they tell you on the phone because one minute they will tell you they do it all and the next oh no it was done like we said it was going to be. read more

Ashley is awesome. Always fun to talk to and is very accommodating when I call last minute. Listens to exactly what I want and executes it perfectly. I have extremely thick hair and it can be challenging to cut. The receptionist is always very friendly and the salon is very clean and fully stocked with awesome products, including makeup! FINALLY A PLACE THAT UNDERSTANDS THE CUT I WAS LOOKING FOR. I am an Air Force wife and move every two years and have to start over with Doctors,Dentist, and yes SALONS. I will admit I am an Aveda girl as I like the product. After 4 times of going to one near Collinsville and always walking away not feeling too satisfied I google around and found THIS AMAZING FUN SALON!!! First, Thank you MELISSA for listening and cutting my hair EXACTLY the way I have been asking for it to be done at that Aveda salon. Girl, you got it right the first time!!!
