For Guys- Stay away from this salon. While I'm sure they do a great job coloring and other things, this is not the place for guys looking for a quality cut. They don't know how to cut men's curly hair, particularly when a guy is growing it out. Recently moved and working on finding a new place- in calling I was informed that the owner knew how to cut men's curly hair, so I setup an appointment. When I arrived, I was assigned a different stylist who wet the hair, eliminating the curl pattern, then razored/texturized while hair was strait wet. They also put three kinds of product into my hair, then hot blow dried, without even asking if I wanted stuff in it. Also, they only spent 15 min on the cut then charged the full price for a 45min session. My cut, now dried, is uneven and refuses to lay properly as it has for the past year. read more

Great hair salon. The shampoo and conditioning was very relaxing and the haircut was hassle free. The hair stylist was understanding and answered all my questions. The building itself was bright, open, and clean. I loved the design. The only con, which is probably true for most hair salons, is that it was a little bit pricey after I chose to buy some shampoo and conditioner. I have not gotten my hair cut in a year or so. I called here to make an appointment and they said they could get me in the next day. I put a deposit down of $25 that I was told it will go towards the haircut total. I was told on the phone it would be $35-$40. Got a call the next day and they needed to reschedule me with a different stylist since the one I was scheduled with called in sick. I was fine with it. Overall good haircut and stylist! But when I went to pay it said on the screen the total was $59 but the woman said the total wasn't right on there. So I pay it being under the impression that the $25 deposit was going towards that. Even left a $20 tip. The cut ended up being $59 without tip!!! Was told a different price over the phone. I saw my bank account was charged two times. One was a $25 charge and the other was a $54 charge. So in the end they charged me a total of $79 including my $20 tip. Went back and the owner refunded the difference between the price I was told I was going to pay on the phone though! read more

I had a very negitive experience with this company. I even came back a second time as they said they would solve the issue. The stylist was'nt able to do simple hylights color. The management was also very rude and tried to charge me twice. I still have to get my hair completed at another salon. read more

Had too many bad experiences here but kept trying different stylists. The last time I went I went to the owner and she did a very minimal color job and not at all what I asked for but still charged me nearly $200 for basically toner and 6 highlight streaks and then refused to make it right even though I have pictures showing what I requested and what was actually done. Would not recommend if you're a new client like I was. I was given to a girl who was extremely unprofessional. I sat down and she immediately said "So are we just cleaning it up?". I said no, and showed her a picture of a layered short hairstyle I once had. As I was showing her, she wasn't paying attention at all and continued to cut about 2 inches straight across the ends. I get a wash, blow dry, and a curl. A curl that made me question whether or not she had completed beauty school. 50$. Don't be fooled by the aesthetic of this place. read more

I highly recommend Treo' Salon, esp Lauren Krupp. My sister & I have been going to this Salon since the day they opened. Lauren is phenomenal with our hair, even though we are night & day different. My hair is ridiculously thick, extremely dry, predominantly gray and long. My sister's is paper-thin, oilly, & short-medium length. We both have poker straight hair. No problem for Lauren! She did the hair for both of our weddings and was able to beautifully cater to our very different styles in these memorable events. She listens & delivers. I especially appreciate the time she gives to teach me how to manage my own hair, from DIY professional updos to keeping my color fresh when swimming in chlorine pools. read more

On August 10, I got my haircut at Treo. I was happy with the experience, aside from a 20minute wait after my appointment time. On August 10th, I made my next appointment, while still in the salon, live, and in person, for today (Sept 28th.) I showed up today (Sept 28th) for my appointment and the young woman at the reception desk couldn't find my appointment in their system, and seemed completely uninterested in helping me since I didn't remember the name of the stylist. (I had not yet been to Treo many times...) She didn't even say she was sorry for the mix up or inconvenience. Terrible customer service! I'm NEVER going to Treo again. Too bad for them, I'm a pretty good tipper.... read more

I was very unhappy with the cut I recently got at Treo. I had a picture of the style I wanted,what I left with was No where near what I had asked for.I ended up going to great clips after crying for an hour,got exactly what I wanted for fifteen dollars. I am so disappointed and shocked by my experience at Treo Salon and with the salon owner, Dana Scarff. I went in asking for a baylayage. I also had dyed blonde hair, and was looking for it to be broken up with more brown and graduated with some blonde pieces still highlighted near to the root. I took in photos of what I wanted and although I felt like she rushed through the initial chat (without even seeing all the photos I had of the hair I liked) I put it down to her experience understanding what I wanted. It didn't take long for her to foil my hair, again put this down to experience. While she was doing it, I could feel that she was just grabbing large chunks of hair and slabbing dye on them and this was much different than the other stylists I have watched perform the baylayage technique. Once all dried, she styled my hair by curling it with a large barreled curler. I looked at it at the salon and was really pleased, from what I could see, it looked nice! However, after a few days I washed it, and dried it straight. This is when I saw the extent of her clumsy dye job! As I had feared in the salon, I saw pieces of brown that just ended mid shaft, no blending except near the top front of my hair. There was even a patch that went from blonde to brown to blonde again. It was awful, and since my hair is naturally straight, it was imperative that it was fixed so I am able to wear my hair without styling sometimes. I don't know why, but i find it so embarrassing to contact a place and tell them about my dissatisfaction. I don't think it should be the customer that feels bad, it should be more embarrassing for the merchant! Anyway, I called and the receptionist answered and told me she was busy so she took a message for me, which was fair enough, and said that she would call me back that day. She was supposed to call me back within 15 minutes, but I didn't get a call back for 2 days. So I called her back and was given the same answer from a different receptionist. This time I didn't get a call in a couple of hours so I left another message with the receptionist. I called again at the end of the day after not receiving a call still, and I was put on hold until Dana finally picked up. She was polite, and said that she would squeeze me in before she left for vacation the next day - which wasn't convenient for me, because I have a baby and live 45 minutes from the salon, so I had to have my husband bring my baby to the salon so I could feed him after work! It literally took her 10 minutes to "fix" my hair. I immediately knew I had pissed her off by coming back in for a fix. She quasi dried my hair and when I got home I saw how awful of a job she had done. I was in and out in 20 minutes, so it's no surprise really. My husband was so angry at her service and attitude that he wanted a refund on my $150 hair experience. He left multiple messages with the same experience I had, no call backs when she said she would except for one a week and a half later, which once he returned, couldn't get hold of her again. I have attached photos of my hair - luckily went to a salon in Chicago to have it fixed properly. But I would never recommend this place, not because of the dye job, everyone makes mistakes and that's fine, but her attitude and customer service was atrocious - especially for an owner. read more

This place is AMAZING! From the moment you walk in, a sense of relaxation takes you over! My stylist is Lauren and all I have to do is sit down in her chair and let her take over! She is so professional and knows everything and anything about color and style! Before I started going to Lauren, my hair was always breaking and would not grow. Now, my hair is the longest it has ever been and definitely in the best shape! Treo uses Aveda products which is a rare find with all the Biolage and Paul Mitchell saloons in the area. In my opinion, Aveda is the best bleach/color you can put on your hair and is less harsh than others. My sister moved from this area and for two years would drive two hours to come back to this salon because she was so impressed and happy with it! Lauren and Treo is a must try! I know you'll fall in love with them just like I have! read more

This salon is the cream of the crop in the Edwardsville area. As soon as you walk in the door, you instantly forget that you are in the MidWest. The salon has a very edgy/industrial vibe, while still having the comforts of home. I get my hair styled by Dana, and she is absolutely incredible. I am a musician, on stage a lot, and she locks down the exact look that I'm going for, while also explaining how to style it myself. I have recently moved to LA, and I dare say that Treo would put up a good fight with the highest end salon here. If you're looking for a $10 cut that you'll regret tomorrow, Treo is NOT the place to go. Be ready to be leave feeling like a million bucks. read more

I had gone to the same stylist my entire life until I moved to Edwardsville and needed to find a new one. I am SO happy I found Hannah W. at Treo! I had some scheduling conflicts (needing late appointments/specific days) and she has been so accommodating. Besides that, she always does an awesome job on my hair! I usually walk in and say "I have no idea what I want, what do you think" and we talk through what to try out this time. It always, always, always turns out better than I could expect. I received the WORST haircut ever from here. The stylist, Hannah, was snobby to both me and other staff members. She was totally rushing to finish cutting my hair, which resulted in my hair being noticeably uneven. She was yanking at my hair, leaving the hair dryer on certain spots too long and burning my head, and too busy paying attention to anything but me to notice. The layers are so crude. Chucks of hair were cut in some places, and none at all in other places. I paid more money ($35) to come to a salon like Treo instead of going to Great Clips so that I could avoid sloppy work like this. However, for the results (and treatment) I got, I would've been better off at Great Clips. I will not be returning to this place. read more

Terrible salon, do not go here! On my very first visit I waited 35min for my stylist to get to me, only to find out I was double booked with another client. I was at the salon for over 3hrs for a service that should have been 1hr. I received a horrid haircut that was crooked and the ends of my hair came out green! And this was all done by the owner, Dana! I also noticed many other clients just sitting and being ignored while their stylist worked on other people.
