I walked in to look at the clearance isle because I tend to find good things there. It is in the back of the store not facing the direction of the front. well I was squatted down to read all the different products and prices when the worker came over to ask if I was finding everything okay. I answered yes and continued to look. she then said "I didn't even see you come in, you just snuck right past me." she then stayed over by me fronting products and 5 mins later asked the same question. It felt like she was very suspicious of me. what I didn't say out loud but thought in my head was "really, I walked in front of you when entering the store. you must have been too busy talking to your colleague." This place is not for men. I've gone into Beauty Brands several times with my wife. I remember at one they carried a product that I use but it was a few dollars more than where I normally purchase. On a recent visit, I went to the very small men's section and could not find the product. When I asked the clerk she stared at me with a blank look on her face. Went in looking for a specific product, found 4 styles to choose from but only one was priced so I had to track someone down to get other prices to compare. I still stand behind my first review that this place is great for hair and beauty products. Last week, I got to try out their spa and it was wonderful! So, this review is mostly spa-related. The spa professionals were so nice and friendly and they made me feel very comfortable. I had the half an hour spa pedicure, a manicure, and a half an hour facial done and it was relaxing and very rejuvenating. The music they have playing while relaxing with my spa services were very calming and indeed, very relaxing. A couple came in with their noisy kid and were having some inappropriate conversations (which really isn't the fault of the spa professionals but more of a lack of manners to the couples' part), nonetheless, they were apologetic about it and I did not count that against them whatsoever. Afterall, how are you supposed to predict such behaviors? Anyway, I loved it and would definitely go back for some relaxing spa services soon! read more

Not going back after yesterday's experience with Lauren , the Customer Experience Associate. I waited in line, one customer in front of me - it took ten minutes, no less, for the customer to complete their "purchase". A large part of the delay was due to the conversation the customer was engaging in with her stylist, in the middle of checking out. At one point I asked the "Customer Service Associate" if she could check me out at a different register, the answer was "no". When she finally started my Check out process, she needed my last name, etc. to " find me in the system. She wasn't able to find the info, I told her not to worry about it, and I got a rude reply back : "I have to find it"... After I gave her my address, life history, she wrang up my purchase, slapped the pen and cc slip on the counter and told me to "sign here". I see I am not the only customer who has experienced rude attendants at this store. I also agree with the other reviewer about the information they have to have just for you to buy from then. Product selection is good; however, when I attempted to return an unopened item with a receipt I was told I had to have an account with them in order to do so. The back of the receipt stated that only a receipt is needed for returns, but the store clerk and manager would not take the return unless I provided them with my name/address/email address. This is a highly unethical business practice. I did call the corporate customer service line and was told that I don't need an 'account' to return items, and that they would clarify the company's policy with the store. Whether or not they did so I can't say. I would caution any customers of this store to ascertain the return policy before making any purchases. There is no stated policy in the store specifying any requirements for returns outside of a receipt. I will not go back to this business. read more

I went to exchange a L of shampoo that I did not like.Because I had used a beauty brands coupon the girl would not let me do an even exchange on an identical priced item just a different formula but the very same brand.She wanted me to pay the difference in the beauty brand coupon. Beauty Brands is my go to store for everything including my hair. I just wanted to write a review on one of the best hairstylists I've ever had, and I am very picky have been to a good portion of salons around the area. Mandy is the best of the best there and if your looking for someone to try I recommend her all the way. She is so sweet and nice and she is the best at what she does. She takes her time doesn't rush and is genuine when it comes to getting your hair exactly how you want it. I am living in North Carolina and if I can hold out to get my hair done until I make trip back home I wait. This should show anyone looking for a new or different hair stylist just how GREAT she is! I have shopped at this store for many, many years. I will not be back. I bought some Bedhead shampoo and conditioner on sale, before Christmas. They were not the same "flavor" (one was in a pink bottle, the other blue), due to low stock because of the sale. They did not have the exact variety I needed, so I made THREE trips to the store to exchange the items. (The store was consistently low on stock). Finally had them in stock today, but wanted to charge me the regular price! It was the same brand, I just wanted them both to have the same smell. Seriously! Same brand, same type -- should have been an even exchange. The supervisor told me that I would need to pay a "small upcharge" because the item was no longer on sale! I have NEVER heard of store charging extra for an EVEN exchange! I had the receipt, I am a long standing customer, the items were kept neatly in the original bag. So I returned the items. Great business model, Beauty Brands. You lost this sale, and my future (mother of teen girls) sales. Bad policy. read more

To preface, I have been a loyal and satisfied customer of this retailer for 4 years. That ended today after waiting over week, and sending 3 emails to their corporate office, for the manager Jamie to contact me regarding my Guinness t-shirt from IRELAND! See, my shirt that my mother brought back from the GUINNESS FACTORY IN IRELAND!!!@!@! was ruined because the stylist who dyed the hair of another client, failed to wash the sink before my stylist washed my hair in that same sink. The result was my shirt picked up a horrible stain around the back of the collar that essentially ruined it. So, after 3 emails and no response, the manager JAMIE finally reached way back in her managerial skill set and located the word courtesy and returned my call to prep me for what I immediately knew, that they weren't going to do anything to rectify the problem. In fact, she requested I bring my gift from flipping IRELAND!!! in with a receipt so she could BUY the shirt which is absurd to me. I followed up with corporate and they reiterated and doubled down on this position of buying my t-shirt from IRELAND THAT WAS A GIFT FROM MY MOTHER!!!!!@!@!@. All that these idiots had to do was offer to reimburse me for the haircut I payed for that day and I would have been satisfied, but they refused. That was 60 dollars just so anyone that might read this will understand, I was not asking for anything unreasonable as they had RUINED MY GIFT FROM MY MOTHER FROM IRELAND!!!! As you might imagine, I won't be returning as I promised their corporate office, and will be posting this same honest review on every website I can find. After today I will no longer be going to the Beauty Brands salon to get my hair done. I called and made an appointment today to get my roots touched up (I am almost platinum blonde with brunette outgrowth). I explained to the woman over the phone that I just needed an overall root touch up with a cut because my ends are terribly dead. My appointment was at 3:30 and I got a call around 2:45 confirming my appointment. Apparently there was a miscommunication about my appointment and they had me down for highlights. I politely told the woman that I just need roots touched up and that was it. She said she fixed it in her system and that they would see me at my appointment. I get to the store and they had not fixed it and they still had me down for highlights. The stylist told me that it was wrong in the system and that they didn't have time to just simply put some color on my roots to match my blonde (like they have done multiple times before). The stylist then took half of my hair, asked me where I part my hair and then suggested that we touch up the roots where I part my hair and then some of the top (pretty much the parts that are visible). I'm sorry, but no professional in their right mind would suggest to dye half of a clients head. I told the stylist I would come back when they apparently have more time to do what I had asked at 10 o'clock this morning when I called, but I will not be going back. This "time issue" happened almost 2 years ago at this same location and I didn't leave the salon til almost 11pm. I figured they would have it together by now, I was wrong. My daughter & I visited May 2014 right before vacation she had a haircut and eyebrow wax. She felt she could have gotten the same cut at Fantastic Sams for a third of the price, same thing for eyebrow wax. We both had the spa pedicure which I liked the privacy and music but the polish was terrible it was thick & lumpy & to thin the polish they used alcohol which took away the sheen. My polish looked like mud until they put on the topcoat. I also visited there October 2013 for a shellac manicure and 1st off I don't feel they gave me a manicure, nails not trimmed evenly & color only lasted a week. Not going back there! ever! Had a haircut appointment two weeks back, it was at 8 am and reached there at 7:55 am and waited outside as the door was locked. No one let me in even after seeing me standing outside in the cold until 8:10 am. I thought I will not make it an issue because the stylist did a good job. Anyway today morning I received a call from them confirming my appointment for tomorrow for relaxer. Again in the evening they called me and left a voice mail. It says they wanted to know what treatment I want for my hair, relaxer or permanent straightening, and whatever it is they don't have the products in stock and I can take appointment for next week. what??? When i called back they are saying the person who called me and confirmed the appointment in the morning is new. They don't know what I wanted to do in spite of stating clearly that I want relaxer; I had also talked to the stylist who does it when I went for haircut. No products in stock?? Manager Jamie said we are calling you today, not tomorrow before your appointment. Really? what a favor!! Never going back there, Rude people and bad customer service. read more
