Love love love the wok. Living away from Cincinnati for sometime, its the first place I go when I come home. I am all about the apps so my favorites are the egg rolls and crab rangoons- literally the best I've ever had. You can't go there and not get them. I usually hit up the lunch buffet because its hard to choose just one dish! The general tso's chicken is phenomenal and always fresh. I tend to pair it with the Kung Pao chicken and Veggie Chow Mein because why not. The owners are the nicest couple and always greet you with a smile. If you're looking for good Chinese food in cinci, there really isn't anywhere else I'd steer you. read more

Sizzling Wok is the best Chinese food in the city. After having lived in New York City, Sizzling Wok is the only place I will go in Cincinnati. Honestly, the crab rangoon is my favorite out of any restaurant I've ever been to (and I've eaten a lot of crab rangoon). I hate leaving this review, but I have to. We came here for Mother's Day as I got to pick. I hadn't been here for about 30 years. It was horrible. We got the bar and it was very unappetizing. The food bins were either empty, nearly empty, or dried out. It was so bad that my daughter ended up having to order off the menu... and IT was horrible, too. I will say the crab rangoon was good, but there were only 4 on the bar total. We sat there with empty glasses, too, but finally got refills. Our server was polite, so perhaps she was overworked. I have been going to this place since I was in high school. The food is top notch and the service matches. From the egg rolls to the cheese puffs to the main dishes. Disappointing. The spring roll was extra greasy and smelled as if it had gone foul. The chicken in the fried rice looked liked cubed, steamed chicken thrown in as an after thought. The szechuan green beans were a mushy mess. What a disaster of a meal. read more

Food was gross and pricy compare to other Chinese restaurants in the area. We had lunch buffet around 1:30pm, all the food was almost empty and they didn't fill it back. Buffet for two and 2 soda cost $33 not including tip. The same thing we had at other restaurants were only around $25. read more

After many years being absent from the Anderson twp area, I recently moved back and the first place I headed was to the Sizzling Wok. You see, I use to eat here on a regular basis (OK daily) back in the early (gulp) 90's. At that time, it was one of the best Chinese restaurants. So as I sashayed in my mind flashed back in time and I was thinking that everything would be just as I left it, well much to my surprise the same waiter from the 90's greeted me. He looked at me and said " I remember you, you eat your food so hot, nobody eat!" We reminisced for a bit and my hopes were high. Well the fantasy ended when the food arrived. It has become your standard run if the mill Chinese food, the only thing missing was the picture board of the food above the cash register. My Kung Pao chicken was bland and "chewy" the hot and sour soup was, well greasy. I was saddened to see another good Chinese restaurant fall by the way side. I always enjoyed takeout from Sizzling Wok. Tried the buffet but was disappointed with the selections and it was overpriced. Last night we ordered takeout. The food was decent, a little stingy on the condiments. Then I saw the bill...my bad, I paid with a credit card. The price was much higher than expected. I had estimated the balance based on the online prices. Well, the prices had escalated. I went back, in person, hoping to get the price difference credited back to my credit card. I agree that the cost of eating here seems a bit expensive. Two people for buffet is 30 or more if you get a soda. I wasn't impressed with the selection of food, maybe because the lady wouldn't bring any fresh food out. You basically had to beg and it was only 6pm. Let me start off by the fact that I love Sizzling Wok, they have very delicious food. After this last experience, I probably will not return. My fiancé and I stopped in for a late lunch only to see that there was no food on their buffet but a few select items. We waited a while until finally I asked our server if they were going to put any sweet and sour chicken out and they did so. However, that's literally the only thing that was put out. The fact that I was handed my check before I even got to eat and the fact that I look around and every single employee was sitting at a table eating while I was waiting for them to do their job really upset me to the point to where we got up and left. One of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to. Probably my favorite on the east side. Go when they first put the buffet out at eleven thirty and five thirty as everything is fresh and phenomenal. This used to be the first resturant I visited when I came to Cincinnati, it would now be my "never again" list. I was very unhappy with the last visit, but thought I would try one more time. I'm not sure what happened to this place, I have eaten here a few times years ago and have no major memory of if either way. For the first time as a restaurant customer we left this place within 5 minutes of being there without attempting to eat more than a bite. The buffet was practically empty, the rice was crunchy and the scraps left tasted awful. On top of that, the cook was getting food off the buffet the same time as us which made it clear that there was no fresh food coming any time soon. I can't speak for ordering off the menu but if what was on the buffet was any indication I don't have much faith. I ordered from the menu & asked for no mushrooms. Most of my dish was mushrooms. I ordered fried wontons - at least one of them was undercooked. It was doughy. The egg rolls are what I love most and they were fine. But they have stopped making them with pork. It's all veggie now. After being a regular customer to this place for 26 years, I AM NOW DONE! My mom and I ALWAYS eat lunch here, because we always get Connie as our waitress....she is THE BEST! The owner, however.......HE is another story. He should have never taken over. The place was so much better when Jack owned it. I decided to order take out yesterday since our kitchen is being redone and I can't really cook. The order came to $61!!!!! Holy CRAP!! Okay, I realize it's the "dinner" portions, but SHEESH!! The kicker is this: I asked for a couple of more of those little containers of the hot chili pepper oil, and TONY, the cheap ass owner told me if I want 2 more, it will be $2 !!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I just spent $61 and you can't even give me 2 more TABLESPOONS of hot chili oil???? This is by far the best Chinese buffet in town. You can easily tell the difference in quality and authenticity from other Chinese buffets in the Cincinnati area. The egg rolls are amazingly fresh and unlike any other I've ever had, the kung pao chicken, beef and broccoli, pepper shrimp, fried rice and moo goo Gai pan are all the closest to being authentic over any Chinese restaurant I've been to! I also enjoyed the crab rangoon's with REAL crab inside, the BBQ chicken which is char grilled and always very tender and juicy, the fried zucchini which surprised me, and the hot and sour soup. A little pricier than other buffets, but you get what you pay for. This place is a must try if in the area, but come early by 5pm, when everything is brought out fresh. read more

Order the food off the menu! The buffet is terrible but I ordered take out and the Dinner Specials are great. The price is he same as an entree plus eggrolls but you also get soup and crab Rangoon. As a mother sometimes it's easy to order togo or delivery... I called to place a delivery for 2 lunch items and an app but before I could l had a few questions. When my questions were answered I then asked to place an order for delivery. I was told that they don't delivery till five?!?! It no where on the menu or website say then don't delivery till 5. We have ordered a dozen times from them before 4:00, have had it delivered and love the food but there is sometimes isn't easy which is why l love that they deliver...Since when did this change happen and maybe to get better service you should change that on you menus and website... read more
