Wow! This was surprising! It's a small place just outside of downtown. It seats about 30 comfortably. It almot has a hole in the wall type feel but is pretty clean. It's a seat yourself type restaurant, so don't wait for someone to seat you. Every waitress waits on every table and they were prompt on bringing us water. Tiffany was our main waitress and she was quick and professional. She gave us recommendations and her opinions on certain plates. The food was delicious and super fast. I ordered the beef Mee- Ka- Tang and was happy to have juicy large pieces of beef along with fresh vegetables that were cooked perfectly in the oyster sauce. I like to think that I'm adventurous and try different foods but I really like things that are simple and I can see clearly what I'm eating and the food here is so fresh that I feel confident in trying it. They offer a limited selection of drinks. I ordered a glass of white and while it was good, I had wished it had been served in a glass goblet as opposed to a plastic one. The chef came by to talk to us which was nice and he made us a pretty satisfying meal. The menu is fairly simple and it goes with a true theme of Asian fusion. I feel there is a flare of a variety of various Asian cultures here. I decided to try the sizzling shaken beef. The dish was made very well overall and the meat and vegetables had good flavor with the sauce. The sizzling plate kept the dish warm throughout my meal which was a nice plus. My friend got the seafood bibimbap and he really enjoyed the dish. If the opportunity arises, I would definitely come back here and try some of their other offerings! My husband and I have been ordering takeout from Sizzling Kitchen since we moved to Lowell a couple years ago. They have consistently delicious food and serving sizes are large enough for one or two meals of leftovers too. My personal favorite is the sizzling beef teriyaki. We've also dined in on a few occasions with friends, and the servers and staff are super friendly. The building is relatively small, but we've never had to wait for a seat. They also accommodate allergies well, and their online menu discloses if an item contains common allergens such as gluten and peanuts. We haven't had any negative experiences so far. So I found myself in Lowell for.my monthly journey and I had a hankering for some Pho. So I used my YELP tool and found the Sizzling Kitchen. I got my usual Vietnamese food, a house special pho and pork and chicken spring rolls. The bowl of pho was just as big as it was delicious. I got extra veggies and I was in heaven. What a great find in the middle of Lowell! We came here at around 2 PM on a weekday, so the place was fairly quiet, but not totally dead. The atmosphere here is casual with fun, colorful marker drawings all over the mirror-covered walls. Everything sounded wonderful on the menu, but I ended up settling on the coconut spring rolls (with shrimp) as an appetizer and the udon wonton noodle soup as my main dish. I didn't come anywhere close to finishing it all - the portion sizes were huuuge! I was impressed right away by how unique the coconut spring rolls were - breaded coconut shrimp (my fave!) stuffed into a fresh roll with avocado (yum!), rice noodles, basil, and a few other goodies. I would never have thought to combine coconut shrimp and avocado into a fresh spring roll, but it was a delight! The waitress let me sub out the cilantro dipping sauce (I'm not a cilantro gal) with a chili one, which gave the rolls a nice kick. My main dish of the udon wonton soup was seriously some of the best noodle soup I have had, EVER. The broth was so flavorful, and the wontons were moist, yet they still managed to keep their shape in the broth. The noodles were also the perfect texture, and it was a super filling dish overall. I am already ready to go back, just to get myself some more of this fantabulous soup! My husband's sizzling shaken chicken was tasty as well. Service was prompt and friendly. We didn't get to try any of the Italian dishes (what an interesting combination... I know everyone was here for the sizzling dishes (hence the name). I actually went there for the comforting won ton soup and I was happy. The portion was big. Broth was flavorful. Wonton and pork were perfectly cooked. My husband ordered crispy fred chicken bc that were what he craved for. We didn't expect much but they were actually very delicious. My friend took my wife and I here and I was a little hesitant at first because my wife and I are vegetarian and most of the menu items appeared to have meat. The spiciness made us really thirsty but all of the servers were very attentive and frequently came by to give more water which is always a huge bonus for me! Chock full of ingredients, we were VERY pleased with our start. For our lunch entrees, we shared the Spicy Chicken Bibimbap (my new favorite asian dish) and the Mee Ka Tang Shrimp. We could not have been more pleased with both of our selections. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly. A great find. The only negative ... it's not a big place so when the door opens and it's cold outdoors, the restaurant is hard to keep warm. LOVED the old location, was thrilled they moved to a larger place but a little disappointed in the food when we went to the new location, has something changed (chef, ingredients)? It wasn't as great as we remembered.
