My go to spot for authentic Thai/Laotian food. It's tough for me not to order the entire menu when I'm here. The tapioca balls, chicken wings & Lao sausages are my favorite appetizers! As for entrees? You'll always find kow piek sen & pad thai at our table. If you're a fan of papaya salad, it's a must here! Service is always great here as well.

First time here, I ordered the beef pho. It was absolute phenomenal! Will definitely be back soon

Not sure where to start as the whole experience was great! Let's do the food justice first! Lanxang Star is an extension of Laos. The taste of the food warped me back into the streets of Vientiane and Luang Prabang! It was so delicious and in my opinion, the best Lao food in Massachusetts! The service was great as well. We were seated quickly and the food came out fresh within minutes of ordering. We did arrive during a storm so were the only ones there initially. We were taken care of, our thoughts on the food were conveyed to the chefs and stumbled to our car full of food within 45 minutes. Lastly, spicy means spicy!

Great Laos restaurant in Dracut. A lot of fresh items on the menu and always comes out tasting incredible. Fried chicken with papaya salad is always a must when visiting.

Was so excited to try out this place. Heard so many great things about this hidden gem. We got the Lao papaya salad (OMG, out of this world), kow piek sen (Lao chicken noodle soup, perfect noodles chewiness/texture), chicken wings, sausages, Thai ice tea (perfect amount of sweetness BTW), shrimp rolls, kowboon (Lao curry noodle soup) and beef laarb. Everything was so fresh, flavorful, plentiful and affordable. What I love: 1.) very authentic, home cooking food made with love 2.) large, generous portions 3.) fast & friendly services 4.) little touches like freshly cooked garlic to use as garnish makes a big difference! Cant wait to be back!!!

Back for more! The food and service never disappoints and we love taking leftovers home!

Laxang Star is a restaurant located in the town of Dracut, Ma. It serves Thai and Laotian cuisine. Also, it is located in a strip mall with ample parking. I would describe it as a rather small hole in the wall mom-and-pop kind of restaurant where families and locals go for either dine-in or takeout orders. I would not make the pilgrimage unless I had business in New Hampshire since it is far far north of Boston. As mentioned previously, the restaurant serves Thai and Laotian cuisine. The menu is labeled so that you can differentiate which dishes are Thai and which are Laotian. I ordered two appetizers, two salads, and a shrimp Pad Thai. First, the most popular items on the menu and Yelp, I would say, is the Laotian stuffed tapioca balls. The center is stuffed with ground pork, peanuts and radish wrapped in tapioca dough. It is served garnished with fried shallot and dried chili peppers. It is eaten wrapped in lettuce and comes with a sweet tamarind dipping sauce. This dish is unique with the sticky tapioca outer and crunchy interior. This was probably the highlight of my meal. If in the area, definitely give this appetizer a try. The second appetizer that I ordered was the crispy shrimp rolls which was from the Thai menu. It was good, but not the best I have had. The ground chicken in the shrimp roll was rather dense and whereas some of the better ones I have had in the past was juicy and less dense. As mentioned earlier, I ordered two salads. The yum seafood salad and the Larb Laarb Seen Salad (Laotian beef salad). Of the two, I prefer the beef salad though I had to ask for extra lime to make it more acidic. It could probably use a little bit more fish sauce too and some Thai red chilis. The yum seafood salad dressing tasted like processed bottled seafood sauce instead of fresh made sauce. If it wasn't for the sauce, I would have enjoyed the seafood more. I find the sauce too sweet and artificial tasting. The shrimp Pad Thai was standard, also not memorable. I would say stick with the Laotian menu. Overall, service was good. There were two other parties dining in when we came for lunch on a Sunday. A slow restaurant with not too much foot traffic. Also, dark interior. I didn't find enough to have me dying to come back to try more dishes. 3.5 stars.

Fast and friendly service with a cozy dining area. Authentic Lao flavors. Combination of salty, spicy and sweet. Utterly addictive papaya salad.. still drooling...Yum!

Inside lighting could be a little brighter. The food was delicious, the cooking was refined. What I mean is that a lot of times, the sliced chicken, beef, or pork were unevenly cut in other Thai restaurants, most of the times they were thick and became a bit chewy. Not at Thai Elephant, I found all the chicken and pork slices were consistently thinly sliced, thus the sauce and spice completely penetrated the protein. Here is what we had: Tom Yum soap with chicken (5 *) - perfectly cooked, the chicken slices were sliced thin and easy to eat (almost melt in your mouth). The sourness was perfect to stir up your palate. Won Ton soup (4 *) - broth was just a bit salty. Love the tiny baby bak choy, the won tons were bouncy and meaty. Thai rolls vegetable filling (5 *) - crispy and not greasy at all. Golden Bags (5 *) - crispy and not grasy, the fillings inside was delightful, not overly spiced, you can taste each individual vegetable inside. This is the best surprise of the night. My wife loved this dish. Drunken Noodles with Chicken (4.5 *) - love the sweet dark soy sauce, again the chicken slices soaked up the sauce and all the veggies were cooked perfectly, broccolis were crunchy, carrots were firm. My wife wanted 0 spice level in this dish, bummer. Panang Curry with Pork (4.5 *) - perfectly cooked, veggies were crunchy and the pork slices were sliced thinly, soaking up the curry. The medium heat could be a little more spicy, that's my only negative comment. Overall, the food and service was excellent. We'll be back, and bring friends.

We ordered the Wontons, beef, chow fun,, shrimp, fried rice, and chow mein. The wontons arrived within five minutes, a little on the dark side, somewhat overcooked. Ten minutes later, we got our beef dish. After another 20 minutes, we asked our waitress where our chow mein and rice was and she said, "the rice is in the window, we're just waiting for the chow mein". Another 10 minutes go by. I have to flag down the waitress again asking her where our food was and this time she said "we have a bunch of new cooks". Still no food! The chow mein made it to the table, but was very spicy and loaded with garlic. It was more like a lo mein than a chow mein. I managed to get the waitresses attention to tell her that it was not edible and that it appeared to be made incorrectly. She offered no apologies. The rice never arrived after 45 minutes. How is that possible? I managed to fly down the waitress again, who was obviously totally ignoring us at this point, for her to tell me that our rice was almost ready. I told her to forget about it that we didn't want it. When our remaining dish failed to arrive, I asked for a manager who had absolutely no apologies for what had transpired (was wearing a boot cast on his left leg). The manager did say that didn't charge us for the rice or the chow mein". I simply asked him, "why would you charge us if we didn't eat it? I'll never received it?" He had no response. Never again.
