I placed an order via Uber Eats yesterday after a long day with work; it was supposed to be lunch but ended up being dinner. I had enough food that I have leftovers for today's lunch. I ordered the spring rolls (forgot to take a picture before devouring), deep fried shumai, and Singapore rice noodle. The shumai were my favorite, but the spring rolls and sauce were good too. There was so much rice noodles that I could not eat everything; it had a good amount of vegetables, chicken, shrimp, and I believe egg. The food was hot upon delivery. Would definitely try them again.
Came here specifically for soup dumplings, and they did not disappoint. Ordered the pork soup dumplings. There are 6 in each order. We weren't sure what to expect, but upon the first bite, we were immediately impressed and decided that they were delicious! Very flavorful. We could've easily ordered 2 orders, and it would've been enough to get us full! Ordered lo mein noodles that came with shrimp, chicken, need, and mussels. It was very flavorful and delicious as well. My husband ordered their fried pork chops and a side of rice. Very flavorful as well, and they were not greasy at all. This is a casual dining spot but also perfect for date night. Everyone was super pleasant and efficient. Definitely plan on coming back and trying other things on their menu. This is also located in a shopping center with plenty of parking spaces to choose from.
These dumplings were absolutely incredible. I stopped in and grab some to go before heading out to go back to Winston. I'm so glad I decided to because I'm already ready to go back. The spicy pork and shrimp dumplings were my favorite. We also got rainbow ones so we could try different flavors. The beef was shockingly my fave out of these. I love to try different ones because I find ones that I wouldn't typically order.
Visited Sizzle for lunch this afternoon. The food was good. The dumplings were made fresh and the special sauce with my dumplings made it even better. The sauce was a combination of fish oil and soy. I'm looking forward to returning soon as the menu has some great choices. The restaurant seats about 30 people. Nice, quaint place. The service was great; the waiter was very friendly and accommodating. This is a good place to try if you like authentic Asian food.
I really want to like this place. I want more Asian restaurants to succeed in the Matthews area especially one that has authentic cuisine. Seeing other reviews about slow service, I order a takeout for my first time to avoid this issue and was told it should be about 20 mins. I decided to try the soup dumplings, pan fried pork buns and 3 different ramen bowls. Before I get to the foods let's cover the service part. There was one waitress who was covering all the tables, taking phone orders, and greeting walk-in customers. No need to say she was overwhelmed and was doing the best she could. The highlights of our meal were the soup dumplings and the pork buns. If I ordered from here again I would focus on the appetizers since they seemed to be made from scratch. They were good. As for the ramens, the broth tasted decent but the noodles were overcooked and the ingredients were nothing special. If I really want Ramens, I would go to Rappongi instead because that is where you will get great ramens. We ordered 3 ramen bowls but ended up with 2 ramen bowls and a rice dish. I decided not to point it out because after arriving at the restaurant and waiting for another 15 mins for our order to be completed, I saw that the kitchen was very chaotic trying to keep up with the takeouts and the customers that were eating there so decided to cut my losses. The Ambiance here is more like the mall and fast food so not a date night kind of place. I hope the owner gets more help and put more focus on the dishes that they do well.
Staff was friendly and very helpful with recommendations. We ordered several dishes to share! Our favorite dishes were eggplant & the spicy shrimp & pork wontons!
I came around 3:00pm, the kitchen was pretty settled. I was looking forward to try their chicken mushroom dumplings, y'all the flavor in each was delicious! (Thinking about it makes my mouth water all over) each bite was juice and the perfect crisp too. I usually ask for them to be extra crispy, it was. The chicken and mushroom is very flavorful but not overpowering, just right! The scallions and black sesame definitely bring the meal together. Thankful to have Sizzle in our community.
Carly was awesome! The open kitchen makes it smell incredible. We ordered too much because we were excited but all was amazing! Hot and Sour Soup 10/10. Pork buns, and soup dumplings excellent. Ramen very good. Overall excellent.

Started off with some Chicken and Mushroom Dumplings, followed by Shanghai Soup Dumplings ($10.95) and finished with Seafood Ramen ($17.95) Everything was hot, freshly prepared, and had great flavors and textures. My server was friendly and not over bearing. Price point was a little pricey than expected. I took home a LOT of leftovers and my hubby thoroughly enjoyed everything yesterday evening.
Upon entering, a server who didn't introduce herself just merely said hey, here's a couple if menus. We finally place our order after she comes out of hiding from the side where restrooms are located. When the order is ready, another gentleman is told by her get those and I'll get the rice! So 1 gentleman was bussing your tables, another gentleman serving your table orders and you just bring tea, menus and rice! Then you had the audacity to discuss scheduling business with another employee who was trying to avoid that conversation because he SAW GUESTS EATING IN THE RESTAURANT! THE FOOD WAS AWESOME! THE SERVICE YOU CURRENTLY PROVIDE IS GOING TO PUT YOU OUT OF BUSINESS IF YOU DON'T REEL IN LITTLE MISS NO PERSONALITY! Consider yourself lucky for the 8.5% tip I left , you really deserved to be coached not complemented!
Saw there was a bad review and I will let you know it's wrong this place serves authentic Asian food and if you don't like it then that sucks and maybe stick to Golden corral I recommend this place if you appreciate authentic Asian cuisine
Love this little Taiwanese shop in the heart of downtown Matthews! Sizzle has been open for a little bit and renovated and revamped their menu a few times. What they lack in refinement, they make up for with their handmade dumplings and special dishes that you can't find anywhere else! We love all of their dumplings, stir fried, green beans, and buns.
I really have a mix feeling about this place. Should this be a 3 stars or 4 stars. I came on a Sunday afternoon, they are a little busy. They gave us a menu with a lot of sizzle dishes. Being that the name is sizzle I ordered sizzle dish, the food was tasty. However, I expected the dish to be sizzling with iron plate. The plate was hot but sizzling, I think if it comes sizzling this will be easy 4 stars. But the food was great. Also I saw they have other Chinese dishes that is not on the menu that was given to me. I did ordered the dumpling, it is one of best dumplings that I had, the wrapping was crispy and the meat inside was juicy. This is a great restaurant with good food, just need define what they really want to serve sizzling dish or more traditional Chinese dishes, I will be back for soup dumplings and other Chinese dishes.
I finally drove all the way to Matthews to check out this joint. I actually arrived at 11 am...and well, the waitress was nowhere in sight! I waited about 10 minutes...when she finally slid into the restaurant. What?!? Also, they didn't crank up the overhead music until I was halfway done with the meal. I almost couldn't believe just how slack everything was here! I mean, is this a Chinese restaurant...or just a Chinese pick-up joint? Anyway, I ordered their Kung Pao Chicken lunch special, along with an order of "Rainbow" dumplings. Kung Pao Chicken was pretty good, but quite sloppy in presentation. I actually fixed it before taking the picture! The "Rainbow" dumplings were pretty good as well, but that horribly acidic sauce that came with it nearly ruined the taste. Also, despite its name, the dumplings barely had any color...only the yellow ones were vivid, the rest were all faded in color. Why so dull and lackluster in color??? Here's the worst part. Despite my getting a rice dish AND eating in, the late waitress dropped only chopsticks at my table. ?!? When I asked for a fork, she dropped a flimsy, plastic fork...so flimsy that I could barely eat with it. Just WOW. To me, that confirmed that this was more of a Chinese pick-up joint...not a restaurant! If the foods were better presented (especially if their "Rainbow" dumplings looked more colorful!), or they offered decent silver utensils, or their waitress arrived on time to serve their customers, I might have dropped at least a 3-star rating...but unfortunately, they failed on so many levels during my visit. Food was decent and made pretty quickly. I guess tapoyaki just isn't my thing, I love octopus but the texture of the dough didn't jive with me. I know that's how it's supposed to be prepared. The beef with scallion was good and tender the beef was velveted, only complaint is that it didn't come with any rice or side. read more
Sizzle is one of my favorite spots for dumplings especially the soup dumplings. I went with two friends for lunch the bill was $57 we had three orders of different dumplings and buns and a beef curry. We split the bill 3 way, no drinks only waters, it was $17 per person not counting the tip. The ambiance is nice and clean. There's amor parking since it's by a busy mall. I was lucky for the second time to find it right upfront. I recommend coming here if you want a fresh bobba tea, ramen, ir dumpling. My friend curry was sadly with no flavor and rubbery, she added salt and pepper and still wasn't flavorful or good at all. Maybe it was an off day but truly tasted like they forgotten the main ingredients the only thing you count taste was the curry itself like turmeric nothing else. Service was friendly. read more

Second time visiting this place and finally come to a conclusion of how this place actually is - 2 star restaurant. This is definitely not a good time to visit - Friday evening with a new menu that they are trying to run Result? Slow service, missing orders, subpar food. The mala ramen noodle is flat and soggy and the roll is below expectation given it's price. Beside these two items that came out of the gate within 40 minutes, the reminder of the order went MIA. 3 items missing 1 hour in. Not sure if I will wait for these to be served much longer Not recommended read more

Great food and nice people ! Small cozy atmosphere and not fancy by any means , which is perfect for us! Only about 10 -12 tables inside. We ordered the rainbow dumplings , spicy ramen and kung pau chicken. Large portions and amazing taste! Only thing to mention is the chicken dish came out wayyyy before everything else . We were hoping the dumplings would be the appetizer, so the ordering of the food was a bit odd. Everything however was fresh and piping hot so we didn't mind so much ! Food Seemed to come out quickly as it was ready! Would for sure be back and recommend to anyone looking to try a new Asian spot in Matthews ! read more

Very disappointed! The food looks way better than it tastes unfortunately, there's not really any taste at all! We ordered all appetizers because it's our first time here, ordered spring rolls and was served with ketchup.. when I asked for the thai chilli that's when he finally said they were out. Waste of food. The service was decent but the fruit flies were very distracting! Hard to eat here. Overall the food does look nice. read more

This would be an easy five star place normally but with a few puzzling caveats. The food, absolutely amazing. Dumplings absolutely perfect. Fresh, steaming hot, and cooked to perfection. Now for the weird. They had no napkins. Uh ok. Then the food came out. They have no forks today. Uh what?! All good got to practice my chop stickery. But no napkins put a serious damper trying to slurp up udon noodles. Not sure what's going on with logistics here, but will likely order to go if I go back. read more

We really enjoyed our meal here! Everything came out sizzling hot and delicious! The soup dumplings were one of my favorites, drinking the broth inside and then the perfect bite of the soft filling. Service was very friendly and attentive. Asked for a side of their chili oil and it did not disappoint. We will be back! Also regarding the atmosphere for a date night, I think it was super cute and perfect for a low key date. The place was decorated nicely and the tables were very nice and clean. read more

Great food! The ramens are delicious, especially during cold weather. Their portion is quite generous compared to other ramen/noodle offerings. We'll come back to try their sizzling plates for sure. read more

This new place is great, fast service, great presentation and taste. A cup of soup and a small salad come with the entrees which are served on a sizzling plate. read more
