I'd heard about Magie for a while from friends in the natural wine scene in Orlando and had to visit while in town. There is convenient (although somewhat limited) parking just to the side of the building, and entering feels like you just entered your cool friend's house. We almost sat inside on a couple of sofas, but opted to brave the humid Miami heat on the back porch/terrace since they were playing the World Cup game on a projection screen. The back is huge and has several sitting areas, including on an elevated porch with fans, as well as couches and bistro tables set up on the pavers down below. There is foliage everywhere and you feel transported (you'd have no clue this business was on a busy road). We got a couple of bottles of wine from their fridges, along with a smattering of shareable dishes from the kitchen (ordered inside). Everything was delightful and we were loving life (again- even in the humid summer heat!). I'd definitely return and enjoy the interior next time. Love a good wine and nosh spot and this is solidly at the top of my list when visiting Miami!

The music was also at the perfect volume, so we could actually enjoy our conversation. The service was excellent! Our waitress Casey was super friendly and welcoming. She explained how the menu worked and gave us some helpful recommendations since it was our first time there. We ordered the patatas bravas, croquetas, flank steak and half seafood paella. My favorites were definitely the patatas bravas, croquetas and flank steak! The patatas bravas were so good and tasted just like the ones you'd have in Spain. It's honestly rare for me to find them done this well in the U.S. The flank steak was also cooked perfectly, super tender and the chimichurri complemented it so well. The croquetas were delicious too! The paella, on the other hand, was just okay. Nothing really stood out about it. I also tried the Passenger Princess cocktail and it was delicious! Super fruity and refreshing. For dessert, we had the flan, which I really enjoyed because it had a nice, firm consistency instead of being watery like at some other places.

It's the kind of place that feels special without being overly fancy. You grab your cheeses and hams, they put together a nice little board for you, and you just settle in and enjoy. I still haven't tried the steak, but every time I see and smell it cooking, it looks amazing. And you really can't beat the live musical acts they bring in. Some of the best musicians in Miami come through here, and I love that about it. Lagniappe is just one of those places that feels unpretentious and home-like, the kind of place you always want to come back to.

From the second you pull up the driveway, you are greeted by rolling rows of vines and an atmosphere that instantly makes you drop your shoulders and relax. It completely lives up to its name--the vibe is effortlessly mellow, sophisticated, and incredibly welcoming. Here is why this place has officially become my absolute favorite spot: 1. The Wine & Food Pairings are Masterful The culinary team here clearly works hand-in-hand with the winemakers, because the pairings are flawless. We started with a crisp, beautifully balanced white blend paired with an artisanal charcuterie board featuring locally sourced cheeses and a phenomenal house-made fig jam. For the main course, the slow-braised short rib literally melted off the bone, and when paired with their estate estate Syrah, it was pure magic. Every bite was an absolute home run. 2. Breathtaking Atmosphere & Ambiance The design of the restaurant strikes the perfect balance between rustic vineyard charm and modern elegance. We sat out on the covered patio, which offers sweeping, unobstructed views of the vineyard. As the sun began to set, they lit the fire pits and turned on string lights, creating an incredibly romantic, warm glow across the entire space. It's the kind of environment where you just want to linger for hours over dessert and another bottle. 3. World-Class Hospitality What truly elevates Mellow Grapes is the service. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable without an ounce of pretentiousness. They walked us through the tasting notes of each wine, shared the history of the vineyard, and gave us brilliant recommendations based on our personal palates. The pace of the meal was perfect--we never felt rushed, yet we were perfectly looked after the entire evening. The Verdict Mellow Grapes is an absolute gem. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a perfect date night, or just want to treat yourself to an exquisite meal and fantastic wine, this place delivers on every front. The passion behind the food, the wine, and the hospitality is evident in every single detail. I'm already counting down the days until my next visit. Cheers to the team for creating such a spectacular experience!

Now to the nitty gritty... The flavors were lacking. The Bao bun's filling was dry and lacking seasoning. The dates were ok The gyoza were so small and overcooked so they were hard and dry on the inside. The wagyu tiraditos needed a few slices of bread or crustinis- something to dip in the sauce. This was the only appetizer that had flavor. As for the good service being a tad much, plates were removed before asking and quickly. Almost felt rushed. I realllly wanted to love this place. I've only heard great things and was really looking forward to it. Been wanting to come since they opened. Could they have had a bad day, sure , but for the price, I'd expect better portions and flavors. I saw a table polishing glasses and glasses of wines and then came the surprise - their selections! Their selections were smaller than expected but thoughtfully chosen. We asked Phillip for his recommendations, along the lines of red & bold. He gladly pointed us to a wine that was not on the menu. It seems they offer a menu selection and off-menu/rotating selection from unique wine regions. We had a red blend from China (yes that's correct, it surprised me equally). But then I realized, I haven't had wines from most of the regions they offer and the curiosity sets in. Looking forward to explore the menu and off-menu selection.
