The massage itself was ok, but when I walked in, this middle aged white guy comes out and kisses the masseuse on the cheek. Umm... Ok, inappropriate, much? Then as I'm getting my massage (I'm an Asian woman), I hear another white dude talking to his masseuse in a kind of creepy way, asking her where she's from, and saying "you're pretty." That would be ok maybe in a different context, but his tone of voice really skeeved me out. I told my masseuse later on that if dudes like that kissed her and she didn't like it, that she could say no. She didn't understand me at first, but when she got what I was saying, she said "oh no no, this is not that kind of place. We have a license and everything." So I felt a little better, but it still bothered me that the client before me felt it was ok to touch his masseuse or kiss her. He had a creepo vibe to him, and I don't think it's ok to touch your masseuse in that way, especially if there is a language barrier to further the power imbalance. Id say it's ok for the massage, but they don't speak English or Cantonese, and their clients make me really uncomfortable, so I probably won't be going back. I think the fact that it's in a basement and doesn't look too fancy means it attracts dudes with gross Asian fetishes (that's what the two guys sounded like they had.) They're a respectable place but their customers seem sketchy to say the least, and that left me stressed out instead of relaxed.

It is always better in my opinion to support local and small businesses whenever you can. For coffee I got a latte with strawberry syrup. It was good. I will 100% be back here.

(Like Bee and Flower brand; Bee and Flower used to have an inner wrap that said, "Bee and Flower brand soap will do no damage whatsoever to your skin.") Prices are cheap enough for anyone to afford. Billy's a musician, and when the weather is nice you can see him outside playing his flute, keyboard, saxophone, or guitar. Chico the Artist did a mural outside of him playing his sax.

We found Larry and Southwest too late, but based on all of our research (and we did a lot), cold treatment can really help, and in spite of what doctors say, the products are available here, from a US manufacturer, through Kala Massage.

Recently, I booked an appointment for a girls' evening with several friends who were traveling in from out of town. Unfortunately, their flight was canceled due to circumstances completely beyond our control. When I called, I was not asking to cancel the appointment, only to reschedule it. To my surprise, I was told that rescheduling was not an option. As a loyal customer, I expected a greater level of understanding and empathy for an unforeseen situation like this. I was committed to keeping my business with them and simply needed flexibility due to a travel disruption. Their unwillingness to work with me left me feeling undervalued as a customer. In my professional experience working with many businesses, I have seen the best customer service demonstrated when unexpected circumstances arise. Unfortunately, this experience showed a lack of customer care and consideration that I did not expect from a company I had supported and promoted for years. I will certainly miss their products, but this experience has left such a negative impression that I do not see myself returning. It's disappointing when a single interaction overshadows years of otherwise positive experiences. I hope they read this and do better with their customers. Given the current environment with flight disruptions, delays other other transporation challenges this will happen to another customer and they will continue to disappoint and tarnish their brand.

Upon entering, we were directed to meet with our "fragrance consultant" - we were matched with Jake - and he only added to our fun experience. He took his time explaining everything and provided very clear directions on what we needed to do to create our custom fragrance. After selecting our base scent, we then picked out additional notes that were added to the base scent. There were 3 of us, and it was such a fun time - Jake has quite the personality so we were laughing and really enjoying our Sunday afternoon. Sure beats another afternoon of eating and drinking away the day. After all the scents were selected, your fragrance is sent over to the back of the store and the fragrance-makers create your speecial custom bottle and you even get to name your fragrance! So much fun. I really like my special bottle and look forward to enjoying it for days/weeks to come! The cost is about $85 for a 50ml bottle. It's great for birthdays, holidays, client outings or even if you just want to treat yourself! Have fun! Artistic Hand with a Warm Touch…read more The display windows of Tansey Tang surprise one with their newly strung necklaces of pearls--single strand, double strand, triple strand. Around Christmas, a long one in light pink caught my eye. The choice of large pearls in a single strand was bold. Yet on a petite woman, it turned out elegant. More than once, I took a treasured piece to Tansey. Shortly after the lock down, she restrung a gift from my mother from long ago. Her discerning eye assured me of the special quality of the piece. In front of me, her large hands began knotting between the pearls. In no time, I was presented a "new necklace" with a mysterious glow. She also replaced the clasp of a three strand necklace for me. The piece with baby pearls was once made for me. But the strands tended to entangle. After Tansey retied them to a clasp designed especially for the three strand, the dormant piece suddenly came to life. Walking down Nassau Street near City Hall reminds one of the changing flow of Life: a man's hat shop on the corner had an arresting display of wool cap, leather cap; a fancy chocolate store had young ladies dipping fresh strawberries in dark chocolate in February. The warm atmosphere at Tansey Tang will be missed when the final curtain call arrives at the end of March.
