I was thrilled to find them at a huge discount. Aptdeco made the whole process very easy. My only minor complaint was the lack of updating the shipping/tracking information. However, I was able to reach out to both delivery teams (I ordered 2 pieces) and they responded very quickly. Both were very polite when delivering and made sure I was satisfied before leaving. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I deeply regret not checking reviews before using this service. Given the massive cut they take from your sale, you would expect seamless delivery and top-notch customer service--it's far from it. First, they aren't transparent about their fees. Then came the pickup nightmare: I waited in my apartment for three hours during a four-hour window, only to receive an email stating they were rescheduling the pickup for three weeks later. When they finally showed up for the rescheduled date, they arrived nearly an hour after the four-hour window closed. To top it off, one of the movers smelled strongly of marijuana, offered no apology for being late, and had the audacity to ask for a tip. Given how little money I'm actually making after their outrageous fees, I wish I had just given the couch away for free. read more

Reckless handling and zero accountability--Destroyed my vintage furniture. I am beyond frustrated with the absolute lack of professionalism and accountability from AptDeco. During a recent sale, their pickup team was incredibly rough with my furniture--a Century Furniture piece from the 80s that was a cherished family heirloom. Despite my repeated warnings that their handling would cause damage, they continued to be reckless and completely destroyed the item. I have video and photographic evidence of the item's pristine condition prior to pickup, as well as the damage they caused in real-time. Despite this, AptDeco is now attempting to claim the item was "damaged upon pickup." I saw them ruin this piece with my own eyes. To make matters worse: * Customer Support is a ghost town. Every email is answered by a different person (Von, Alex, etc.), and no one takes responsibility. * The phone lines are a sham. Their listed support number (646-586-9056) disconnects immediately when called. * Unsafe practices. Their third-party partners showed up at my building at nearly 9:00 PM without notice, which is a significant security concern and completely unprofessional. AptDeco has done nothing to resolve the $160 payout for the damage they caused. If you value your furniture or your sanity, do not use this platform. I have reached out to the seller to let her know she will have to cancel on her end. I have been reaching out to AptDeco since January 8th & their shipping partner King Shipping out of North Carolina with no responses. At this point do not even ship it. This is very unprofessional. I bought a Peloton refurbished bike on June 23rd. I am in El Segundo. AptDeco is supposed to be delivering it. The window was supposed to be July 1-7th. They have repeatedly cancelled on me. And have stopped returning my phone calls and emails and texts. It is now July 20th and I still do not have my bike. And, no customer service option. What a disaster of a company. I really wanted this to be a good experience, but it ended up being a mess. I ordered a sofa from AptDeco expecting delivery within their stated 2 to 6 week window, and that did not happen. The delivery kept getting pushed back, communication was poor both from aptdeco and the delivery company they partner with, and I had to keep following up myself just to get updates. I was never given a reason for the delivery being pushed back. I did not get the advertised 24hr hour advance notice on delivery date and time frame, but luckily my building was kind enough to make an exception and allow me to accept it. When the sofa finally arrived, it was dirty, stained, and missing the power cables, so I still can't even confirm whether it works the way it was advertised. The delivery people stated they didn't pack it another team did and they had no idea where the cables were or why it was so dirty. I was also told a professional cleaning would be arranged because of the condition it arrived in, and that has been another hassle to get handled. To be fair, AptDeco did refund my delivery fee after i asked for it twice and offered to pay for professional cleaning (if they approved the quote I found) but I still don't think resolution was sufficient. The overall experience was frustrating, poorly managed, and way more stressful than it should have been. The selection of items on AptDeco is wonderful. However, as a seller you have to give AptDeco 40% of your listing price!. Thus, if you sell an item for $80 AptDeco deducts $48 from the sale! This is absurd! There are also technical difficulties on the site and customer service does not answer promptly to voicemail or emails with efficient solutions. The marketing and boosting of quality items is not good at all. I am still in shock that they take away almost all of your profit after a sale. I would not recommend this furniture service. They collected my media console on August 26 and didn't pay me until October 18. Nearly two months of chasing them down for what I was owed. I paid for my dresser on June 16. I deliberately chose a piece nearby because I did not want to pay outrageous shipping costs. The seller lived 39 miles away from me. This is a one hour drive, two tops in bad traffic. The delivery fee was $119. I got an email telling me I would get a call about delivery details, but the expected date range was Wednesday, Jun 24 - Tuesday, Jun 30. That's two weeks after purchase. I am writing on July 6, three weeks after purchase, and I still don't have my dresser or any idea when it is coming. Communication is terrible. I only get updates when I contact them to ask where my dresser is, and every time I call, the delivery date is moved later. Now they are saying MAYBE two weeks from now. No specific time or date. It should not take more than a month to drive a dresser 39 miles. I would have done better to rent a truck and pick it up, myself. I will not shop from this website again. read more

I've sold a few pieces on AptDeco. The pickups have been smooth and all the folks at AptDeco have been very responsive and helpful. The only issue I had was confusion surrounding the buyer dropoff and payment timelines. For example, I had a piece of furniture picked up on the 25th. I contacted customer service (they were wonderful!) for an update on payment. The piece wasn't dropped off to the buyer until 10/29 and drop off date/time isn't shared with the seller (according to my conversation w/the rep, payment isn't issued until sometime after drop off) 3 business days passed and two non-business days before a payment notification was issued. it takes 2-5 business days for payment to process. This is by no means an unreasonable turnaround time and I'm sure this is outlined in detail somewhere on the website, but it's not easily findable or as clear as it could be. Overall, will definitely sell with them again! read more

The pickup team seemed instantly uncomfortable, and it turned out it was because their truck was too small for the item. So instead of just saying that, they fabricated random issues about the piece, calling the quality into question, and then literally RAN AWAY. I've never seen anything like it. The item I purchased was great, and so was the seller. As for AptDeco, I am disappointed. The only reason I found out about the delivery date was because I messaged the seller directly and then emailed customer service--multiple times. They were slow to respond and did not act with urgency. The item was delivered while I was away, even though I had given customer service two weeks' notice. And when they assured me that they would push the delivery date, I received less than 24 hours' notice that the carrier was already on their way to my address. I wouldn't discourage someone from buying through AptDeco, but I would encourage them to be proactive about retrieving updates themselves and to avoid traveling until their item arrives. read more

Pretty happy with this company. They act like Craigslist but they also deliver the items. Sometimes you can get half off the delivery fee and it's only about $50. I like their selection of furniture and they update all the time. I was able to buy a bed, a TV stand and 2 book shelves and it was all quite reasonable. While the fees are pretty high, the service of having them come and pick up my couch and deliver it to the buyer made getting rid of old furniture less of a hassle. They also gave me a COI for my building relatively simply although I disliked the form for the COI which could be simplified by just providing an email we can forward the COI to. One star was removed because I was messaged by the driver asking for tip before they arrived. Not sure why I would pay any gratuity given that 1. I'm selling the couch and 2. I just paid a $240 fee on my couch that I sold for $500. read more

I ordered a futon from here. I love that their items are good quality despite being used and that they deliver and assemble the furniture for you. The times I submitted for delivery didn't work for the owner so she proposed new ones. I sent back new options after that and never received another email so I initially thought the delivery was never scheduled. When I went to their website seeking customer service, I saw that there was in fact a delivery date set. A final confirmation would have been appreciated. About an hour before my delivery, I received a notification that they were on the way with a link to track their location. They arrived on time. The futon I ordered was quite large and I live in a walk up. At first, the delivery guys seemed annoyed that they wouldn't be able to get up the stairs without removing the base pieces of the futon. They were a bit curt with me. However, once they made it up the stairs, they were friendly and professional. Unfortunately one piece of the futon fell during assembly and damaged my wall. I had to contact customer service to have it fixed and it took several days to resolve. Despite this incident, for the convenience, I would use this service again. Note that they have no customer service phone number and everything is handled via email, which can sometimes be inefficient. read more

BUYER BEWARE. EDITED with photo proof. Tl;dr: hidden fees and deliberate misrepresentation, scammed out of hundreds of dollars. I do not leave reviews often, but I wish someone had warned me about AptDeco. I recommend Kaiyo instead if you're looking for used furniture. AptDeco has charged me $429 and left me with 0 product. This is undisputed. To date, I have never seen the item, it was never delivered to my apartment, and my credit charge remains. I have never before in my life been asked to pay hundreds of dollars with literally no goods or services exchanged in return. In late November, I submitted a purchase request for a WestElm bed for $865, discounted from an original $968, with a listed delivery fee of $94 (this line stated my exact area code). A few days later, I was notified that my purchase was approved. However, this email receipt included, for the first time, an additional fee of $215.11, labeled "sales taxes and fees." The applicable sales tax is ~ 8.8% in NY. That means AptDeco slapped on additional fees to the amount of $130 (!). AptDeco appears to intentionally conceal its fees not only by hiding them until after the fact, but also by grouping them together with the sales tax, so that the consumer might mistake fees for a high tax. NOTE the sample screenshot they sent me lists ONLY sales tax and not additional fees. When I noticed this significant fee discrepancy, I promptly emailed AptDeco that I demanded a refund and asked that they do not deliver. Why would any consumer pay almost $1200 for a used bed (note that there were no photos taken of the bed on the listing, just those pulled from the company's listing), when the same bed full price costs just $100-$200 more? AptDeco refused to cancel my charge, even though they had not yet delivered the bed. No goods or services were in motion. It would have been a simple refund. AptDeco then emailed me the next day informing me that a delivery attempt was made and then demanded ANOTHER fee, specifically, a "redelivery fee ranging from $35-$119." I was home at the time, and I was neither called nor emailed to let me know if someone had arrived. Every delivery person has buzzed into my apartment. No one buzzed in between the times given to me that day. I again promptly responded that I demanded my refund and did not consent to the hidden fees charges to me. And in any event, no such delivery was attempted! I was absolutely shocked that AptDeco not only charged me it's hidden fees the first time (of over $100) but now demanded another set of fees (vaguely between $35-$119) by lying to me about an alleged delivery. What is also not disputed is that AptDeco subsequently CONCEDED that it did not, in fact, contact me or attempt a delivery *at the scheduled time.* So, having received no product and having not even seen a product, I again demanded my refund. AptDeco replied that it could only list my item for subsequent resale, starting at *full* price, and that I could only receive a partial refund in the resale amount. I refused this option and ceased further communication to pursue other means of disputing this charge and these now increasingly fraudulent tactics from the company. I saw that AptDeco proceeded to list my item NOT at the original $968 price but at the $865 price, which it continued to lower. Then, today, AptDeco notified me that it sold the item for $750, which credit I was now entitled to. By this, AptDeco intends to leave me with a standing charge of $429 for literally no product or service rendered. I neither saw nor received the bed, AptDeco conceded that it was never delivered nor attempted to be delivered at the times noticed, and AptDeco then resold it (adding, undoubtedly, another host of fees to the next customer), conspicuously at a much lower price, without my consent, all the while leaving me with a massive payment, including $94 for a delivery AptDeco CONCEDED never occurred. This is truly a first for me. Customer service aside (and none here whatsoever), AptDeco's actions demonstrate a complete exploitation. Take caution! read more

I did not get that piece of furniture but the AptDeco team was very helpful with providing a quick refund and kindly giving me a discount code to use on future purchases for my inconvenience. I decided to use that code and try another purchase. I was able to purchase a console for my living room and three dining room chairs. Thank goodness for AptDeco! They make it so easy to sell your furniture AND they come and take it away. You determine the price; if you want to sell it quickly, just lower the price -- if you have time to wait until the perfect buyer comes along, keep the price as high as you need it. Importantly for me, they provide the certificate of insurance that is required by my building in order to move furniture. Everything was done exactly as needed. I've used them a few times and I've been happy each time. I've tried Craig's List but there are too many obstacles to ensure that the buyer is real and reputable. I have just had a horrendous experience with AptDeco and would highly recommend never using them. I ordered a two piece sectional couch through the website. The listing stated it was from a pet free home and had minor tearing at the bottom of one of the pieces. AptDeco on their website states they will inspect the furniture and contact you for any discrepancies. I was not contacted prior to delivery and it became very clear that AptDeco did not do an inspection of the furniture as promised by their website. 1. They won't provide potential delivery dates and times until after purchase. That was red flag one I shouldn't have ignored. The earliest delivery date was 2 weeks away. Keep that in mind if you want something quickly. 2. I was given a 1pm-5pm time slot. They didn't show until 7pm. 3. The couch was poorly wrapped and not completely covered. As they delivered it, it picked up dirt from truck to sidewalk to hallway to stairs to my apartment. 4. Once the couch was inside my apartment they unwrapped it. It was missing all of the seat cushions. 5. The "minor tear" on the bottom was that the entire bottom of one of the two pieces was completely removed on half and had giant holes in the other part. 6. The couch was covered in animal hair even though the listing said it was from a pet free home. 7. The delivery people wouldn't take the couch back even though it clearly wasn't anywhere in the condition that the photos showed, the seat cushions were all missing, and it was covered in animal hair. Clearly no one on the AptDeco team inspected the couch as the website promises. The people that picked up the couch should have rejected it on sight. I now have a huge sectional I can't get out of my apartment because it is too large for one person to move and it is giving me allergic reactions. Our bedroom set was discontinued so I felt like I didn't have any other options, I'm glad I took the chance. I purchased a pottery barn dresser that was a floor model. The seller seemed like they specifically sold floor models and the item was not out of someone's home. The dresser was in great condition for a floor model and was delivered to Colorado from Texas in just one week after purchasing. The guy making the delivery was wonderful and was in contact with me after he picked up the dresser in TX and a couple hours before he arrived here. Never got my couch. The website is broken when you try to fill out which dates for delivery saying there's an error. I had to message the seller and they were able to book a date for me. Today I waited 9 hours for it to arrive and 30min before the window was closed on arrival time at 5pm EST, I get a text saying they're almost at my apartment and to be ready for the couch. They then texted me a link to see where they are on a map. The link showed they just tried to deliver the couch but it was unsuccessful. Total scam. I paid a tip for these drivers, too. Overall, I'm very happy with my AptDeco purchase. It turns out they have a lot of new floor samples from major brands- Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel etc. - for sale, in addition to used furniture. In the end, I bought a West Elm floor model for ~60% of what it would have cost new, including delivery. My delivery experience was great; customer service took care of my building's COI requirements and all the (ridiculous) other indemnifications that the building wanted signed. The delivery team was outstanding and deserved 100 stars. On balance, AptDeco's website could use an overhaul. It's frustrating to use between the pop up coupons for $10 off (?) that are only valid for a week and not being able to use the back arrow to navigate because each listing opens in a new window... the interface was terrible. A major plus was their daily search update emails, which let me ultimately nab this beautiful piece that I could not be more happy with!! Would use them again for sure next time we're in the market for furniture. read more
