I have just had a horrendous experience with AptDeco and would highly recommend never using them. I ordered a two piece sectional couch through the website. The listing stated it was from a pet free home and had minor tearing at the bottom of one of the pieces. AptDeco on their website states they will inspect the furniture and contact you for any discrepancies. I was not contacted prior to delivery and it became very clear that AptDeco did not do an inspection of the furniture as promised by their website. 1. They won't provide potential delivery dates and times until after purchase. That was red flag one I shouldn't have ignored. The earliest delivery date was 2 weeks away. Keep that in mind if you want something quickly. 2. I was given a 1pm-5pm time slot. They didn't show until 7pm. 3. The couch was poorly wrapped and not completely covered. As they delivered it, it picked up dirt from truck to sidewalk to hallway to stairs to my apartment. 4. Once the couch was inside my apartment they unwrapped it. It was missing all of the seat cushions. 5. The "minor tear" on the bottom was that the entire bottom of one of the two pieces was completely removed on half and had giant holes in the other part. 6. The couch was covered in animal hair even though the listing said it was from a pet free home. 7. The delivery people wouldn't take the couch back even though it clearly wasn't anywhere in the condition that the photos showed, the seat cushions were all missing, and it was covered in animal hair. Clearly no one on the AptDeco team inspected the couch as the website promises. The people that picked up the couch should have rejected it on sight. I now have a huge sectional I can't get out of my apartment because it is too large for one person to move and it is giving me allergic reactions. The only response I have gotten from AptDeco is that they will contact the seller to ask about the cushions. Do not use this company. read more

Had a great experience with this company, it exceeded my expectation after reading a few reviews. Our bedroom set was discontinued so I felt like I didn't have any other options, I'm glad I took the chance. I purchased a pottery barn dresser that was a floor model. The seller seemed like they specifically sold floor models and the item was not out of someone's home. The dresser was in great condition for a floor model and was delivered to Colorado from Texas in just one week after purchasing. The guy making the delivery was wonderful and was in contact with me after he picked up the dresser in TX and a couple hours before he arrived here. He was very polite and helpful with getting the dresser placed in our home. read more

The service was fantastic and the customer service was very helpful. I had placed an order through AptDeco. When the delivery team went to pick it up, the seller never responded. I did not get that piece of furniture but the AptDeco team was very helpful with providing a quick refund and kindly giving me a discount code to use on future purchases for my inconvenience. I decided to use that code and try another purchase. I was able to purchase a console for my living room and three dining room chairs. The process was very easy and the delivery team worked efficiently. I would definitely order through them again! read more

After a hiccup, which customer service fixed quickly, the experience went really well, and I was able to say goodbye to a great, but too-big piece of furniture, which is now appreciated by someone else. I'm very happy! read more

I had a positive experience selling a black vegan leather chair! This system works. Their team was courteous, kind and professional -- especially Sydney, Mike and McKayla. I enjoyed interacting with them, when I had questions or concerns. They get back to you in a prompt fashion and take care of business, while being friendly. Thanks so much for a successful sale and delivery, AptDeco! : ) It's much appreciated! Best, Kat read more

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. I bought a rug which was advertised as having "normal wear". Supposedly they inspect the item when they pick it up, but when I received the rug it had not one but two significant holes in it. Thank goodness for AptDeco! They make it so easy to sell your furniture AND they come and take it away. You determine the price; if you want to sell it quickly, just lower the price -- if you have time to wait until the perfect buyer comes along, keep the price as high as you need it. Importantly for me, they provide the certificate of insurance that is required by my building in order to move furniture. Everything was done exactly as needed. I've used them a few times and I've been happy each time. I've tried Craig's List but there are too many obstacles to ensure that the buyer is real and reputable. AptDeco takes care of everything! read more

Never got my couch. The website is broken when you try to fill out which dates for delivery saying there's an error. I had to message the seller and they were able to book a date for me. Today I waited 9 hours for it to arrive and 30min before the window was closed on arrival time at 5pm EST, I get a text saying they're almost at my apartment and to be ready for the couch. They then texted me a link to see where they are on a map. The link showed they just tried to deliver the couch but it was unsuccessful. Total scam. I paid a tip for these drivers, too. I want my couch today and a refund on the tip. I took a whole day off of work for this. DON'T RECOMMEND. read more

Overall, I'm very happy with my AptDeco purchase. It turns out they have a lot of new floor samples from major brands- Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel etc. - for sale, in addition to used furniture. In the end, I bought a West Elm floor model for ~60% of what it would have cost new, including delivery. My delivery experience was great; customer service took care of my building's COI requirements and all the (ridiculous) other indemnifications that the building wanted signed. The delivery team was outstanding and deserved 100 stars. On balance, AptDeco's website could use an overhaul. It's frustrating to use between the pop up coupons for $10 off (?) that are only valid for a week and not being able to use the back arrow to navigate because each listing opens in a new window... the interface was terrible. A major plus was their daily search update emails, which let me ultimately nab this beautiful piece that I could not be more happy with!! Would use them again for sure next time we're in the market for furniture. read more

Apt Deco found a buyer for my listing. It's an easy step-by-step process. Apt Deco notifications are sent to my account and email. I scheduled a pickup. Apt Deco driver sent a link while in transit. I was told about this website by a friend. I dismissed the idea of using AptDeco at first: my deadline was tight and I had little interest in being paid for the items. I just needed the items to be gone. Well I was wrong and pleasantly surprised by the process. While not all the items I wanted to post were acceptable, the ones that were got posted very quickly and sold in no time. I was very satisfied. read more

Just a friendly warning to potential buyers.....this site charges astronomical fees without ANY mentioning or details (the sofa I purchased was $1650 and the charges me 15% in fees - they hide it under taxes/fees so be cautious!) To their credit the couch wasn't as described (horribly sun bleached) and I agreed to be refunded $500 v. Sending it back and their dispute process did side w/me and I received a refund (although still waiting for the tax difference to be refunded as well) Buyer be ware! read more

100% REGRET. I listed a noguchi table. WARNING: they added a link that implied my piece had the authentication markings - which it did not - was manufactured before that started. the buyer wanted to return - which i should have done - but instead i spent hours proving my piece was authentic. APTDECO NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED THEY MADE THE ERROR.. but still charge me the 60% fee for the privelege. they charge for shipping and related costs - insurance, well paid people, etc etc etc - which are all shipping related costs - but they still take 60% i got next to nothing for my valuable table - and had to work hard to get it. if you have something valuable - research well before you list it on this site. they dont care at all. i'll probably get a follow up email after they read this with their AI generated explanations for why they rip people off. read more

They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I work for a couple who was downsizing before a move. The first pick up was a one of a kind lamp, The guy who picked it up broke it! So we were paid but it was weird, and the person who wanted it was disappointed. When you sell something you need a quick back and forth in order to schedule with the building, yourself - or in my case, the couple I was working for and the person who will receive what they bought. THIS was a nightmare - there is no direct way to reach AptDeco...so it was an endless back and forth arranging when the elevator, the couple and the movers were free. And the couple I was working for were dealing with a lot because of their move! One of the movers refused to wait for the padded elevator! This is important in a lot of buildings! You can receive a fine. And it's a huge no no! They answer with AI or the people who do get back to you are "like" AI. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! There is also no stopping a pick up once it is happening --if you have an emergency! This came up because a lot was happening because of the move and a sudden illness. They take a lot of the profit - but none of us cared --we just wanted it to be over. They finally picked up the last idem and then came by a few days later to pick up from us - when everything was already picked up! AND I had already written to them! So they should have known the last idem was already picked up! And the glitches in the website YIKES!!!!!!!! If you are selling or buying one idem and you don't live in a fancy building perhaps your experience will be different. I hate them! Soon as the last payment comes to my boss I will unsubscribe...which they make very difficult. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Do not buy anything here. How are they still around. Misleading and unable to communicate.

I've ordered from them twice and both times my experience has been great. The key is to only order from your local area. Both times the items were exactly as in the description and they were delivered very carefully and on time. I got great deals on some items that I had been eyeing online but couldn't justify paying the full price. I'm really happy and will continue to use this. Would recommend and have already recommended to multiple friends :) read more

Never again. Pick up was a mess...two different time windows - confusingPick up guys rude - mono syllabic. Not worth the hassle.

Just bought a west elm cabinet and got delivered after 3 weeks. The item received is clearly damaged and i reached out to the company to file a claim. I was told to click the button next to the item to file the claim. Since there is a delay in the system the item didn't show delivered so it didn't allow me to respond. I checked next day and it said delivered and final and didn't even have a button to respond. I went to aptdeco website to send a chat 24hrs after delivered and all messages were recorded and the message were received and was told i will get a respond within 24 hrs. I heard nothing so i went and send another email. I followed guideline and raise my voice and submit pic during 48 hours and yet company refuse to do any kind of refund due to the damage on the item. The website is not user friendly and not reflecting status on time for buyer to respond and make any action. read more

As if moving items around the city isn't hard. These guys made it easy, professional, fast and efficient.

Recently completed my first sale on the platform and it was easy because I was selling a couch I had originally purchased from the platform. I just used aptdeco for the first time to purchase a TV cabinet/stand. The item and dimensions matched the picture/listing and I am very happy with the product. There is some wear and tear from normal use, but that was also mentioned in the posting. I will try using a furniture touch-up pen on the spots that need it. The item was dusty so had to clean it with pledge and windex after it was dropped off. I paid for delivery - it was delivered up one flight of stairs and put exactly where in the room I wanted it. Great service, it was delivered a little later than the delivery window but once the drivers are on the way they send you the tracking information. For customer service the best way to reach them is via email instead of over the phone - I did that due to an issue with my original delivery window and they were able to accommodate. For a low cost item it is worth the delivery fee. It still would have cost me more for something comparable and I would purchase from them again. read more

Found a discontinued side table from West Elm that matches the rest of my living room set. The cost was listed as $100 - I go to purchase the table and enter my credit card information. AFTER MY CREDIT IS CHARGED I receive a receipt for almost $400. The cost o their white glove delivery was NEVER included in the transaction was $260 with a whole bunch of additional fees. I wrote the seller and the company exactly 30 seconds after placing my order and they would not cancel the order. This business is a total scam. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

My first experience with Aptdeco has been an absolute nightmare. 1. Delivery service came after my window at 9PM. Delivery service gave 10 minutes notice AFTER the window had ended and then abruptly hung up on me after giving me an attitude. We were having dinner! 2. The buyer was messaging me telling me she never got the coffee table until midnight! 3. I woke up to emails that the pickup was rescheduled. WHY? The delivery service already took the coffee table and picked it up late! Why did Aptdeco not have that on record?! This is poor internal controls. You let strangers into my home to take my furniture and you don't have on record that this happened? That is a real safety issue! POOR INTERNAL CONTROL AND POOR SAFETY MEASURES having three people come to my home and NOT having it on file. I am extremely frustrated with the service and I'd like my refund in fees for this. I took the ENTIRE day off to make sure the furniture was picked up yesterday and I was not extended the same courtesy when someone did not show up on time to pickup and did NOT notify me. Please let me know that you will refund my fees from a customer service perspective or escalate this issue to higher management. I am so disappointed as this was my first time selling with your company. SECOND EXPERIENCE: LIVID! I gave this company a second chance. They sent the same amateur movers. This time, they showed up an hour late and they BROKE the bed while delivering to the buyer. I messaged Aptdeco and NOTHING. No response. I also attached the screenshot where the buyer said the movers were unprofessional and did not assemble the bed properly. Aptdeco went ahead and asked me to accept a RETURNED BROKEN BED! I am giving it 15 more minutes before I report this business to the Better Business Bureau. This is unacceptable and completely unprofessional. I do not trust this business to protect both buyers and sellers. I have now lost a perfectly good bed and they will make pay fees on top of their mistake. Thanks for nothing! read more

I had a lot of furniture to sell because I was re-decorating and wanted a completely new living room and den. I was skeptical after a disastrous experience with Kaiyo (now out of business), but AptDeco is great! Paid $250 for a used dresser, discovered one of the drawers was completely broken (NOT disclosed in product listing) and they offered me a $30 discount, $60 when I pushed back. While it certainly would be great to be able to get more money and a higher percentage of sale for good, used, expensive furniture, selling with AptDeco was a very productive and easy experience -with actual results. From the listing where they made the photos look professional, to the help with pricing and followup to reprice for sale.....to the scheduling and actual pick up: all worked well and as promised. This store is terrible. I bought a couch and then was given delivery dates 3 weeks from purchase (after selecting delivery date within 2 days). The seller stated it was aptdeco fault. I ask for a refund and aptdeco refused. Then weeks later my transaction was canceled and they said they refunded me in full. However, they never refunded my money and now the dispute with my card is expired. I am now pursuing small claims court to get the money they literally scammed money out of me.
