I really wanted this to be a good experience, but it ended up being a mess. I ordered a sofa from AptDeco expecting delivery within their stated 2 to 6 week window, and that did not happen. The delivery kept getting pushed back, communication was poor both from aptdeco and the delivery company they partner with, and I had to keep following up myself just to get updates. I was never given a reason for the delivery being pushed back. I did not get the advertised 24hr hour advance notice on delivery date and time frame, but luckily my building was kind enough to make an exception and allow me to accept it. When the sofa finally arrived, it was dirty, stained, and missing the power cables, so I still can't even confirm whether it works the way it was advertised. The delivery people stated they didn't pack it another team did and they had no idea where the cables were or why it was so dirty. I was also told a professional cleaning would be arranged because of the condition it arrived in, and that has been another hassle to get handled. To be fair, AptDeco did refund my delivery fee after i asked for it twice and offered to pay for professional cleaning (if they approved the quote I found) but I still don't think resolution was sufficient. The overall experience was frustrating, poorly managed, and way more stressful than it should have been. I like the idea behind the company, but based on my experience, I'd be very cautious about referring it to my friends/family or myself from ordering from them.

The selection of items on AptDeco is wonderful. However, as a seller you have to give AptDeco 40% of your listing price!. Thus, if you sell an item for $80 AptDeco deducts $48 from the sale! This is absurd! There are also technical difficulties on the site and customer service does not answer promptly to voicemail or emails with efficient solutions. The marketing and boosting of quality items is not good at all. I am still in shock that they take away almost all of your profit after a sale. I would not recommend this furniture service. Disappointing.

Pretty happy with this company. They act like Craigslist but they also deliver the items. Sometimes you can get half off the delivery fee and it's only about $50. I like their selection of furniture and they update all the time. I was able to buy a bed, a TV stand and 2 book shelves and it was all quite reasonable. I'm a satisfied customer, thank you!

Total waist of time! My order was never shipped. After multiple follow-ups there was no information about the shipping of my order. They could not cancel my order and required me to cancel directly with the seller. Luckily the seller and I agreed to make a deal outside AptDeco. However, AptDeco learned about it and attempted to charge me again for the order they did not fulfill and subsequently instead of apologizing, they blocked my account all together. Just wow!

The sample shared by AptDeco proves my point. Just delivery fee to the zipcode + sales tax. Doesn't show the $130 fees they added.

BUYER BEWARE. EDITED with photo proof. Tl;dr: hidden fees and deliberate misrepresentation, scammed out of hundreds of dollars. I do not leave reviews often, but I wish someone had warned me about AptDeco. I recommend Kaiyo instead if you're looking for used furniture. AptDeco has charged me $429 and left me with 0 product. This is undisputed. To date, I have never seen the item, it was never delivered to my apartment, and my credit charge remains. I have never before in my life been asked to pay hundreds of dollars with literally no goods or services exchanged in return. In late November, I submitted a purchase request for a WestElm bed for $865, discounted from an original $968, with a listed delivery fee of $94 (this line stated my exact area code). A few days later, I was notified that my purchase was approved. However, this email receipt included, for the first time, an additional fee of $215.11, labeled "sales taxes and fees." The applicable sales tax is ~ 8.8% in NY. That means AptDeco slapped on additional fees to the amount of $130 (!). AptDeco appears to intentionally conceal its fees not only by hiding them until after the fact, but also by grouping them together with the sales tax, so that the consumer might mistake fees for a high tax. NOTE the sample screenshot they sent me lists ONLY sales tax and not additional fees. When I noticed this significant fee discrepancy, I promptly emailed AptDeco that I demanded a refund and asked that they do not deliver. Why would any consumer pay almost $1200 for a used bed (note that there were no photos taken of the bed on the listing, just those pulled from the company's listing), when the same bed full price costs just $100-$200 more? AptDeco refused to cancel my charge, even though they had not yet delivered the bed. No goods or services were in motion. It would have been a simple refund. AptDeco then emailed me the next day informing me that a delivery attempt was made and then demanded ANOTHER fee, specifically, a "redelivery fee ranging from $35-$119." I was home at the time, and I was neither called nor emailed to let me know if someone had arrived. Every delivery person has buzzed into my apartment. No one buzzed in between the times given to me that day. I again promptly responded that I demanded my refund and did not consent to the hidden fees charges to me. And in any event, no such delivery was attempted! I was absolutely shocked that AptDeco not only charged me it's hidden fees the first time (of over $100) but now demanded another set of fees (vaguely between $35-$119) by lying to me about an alleged delivery. What is also not disputed is that AptDeco subsequently CONCEDED that it did not, in fact, contact me or attempt a delivery *at the scheduled time.* So, having received no product and having not even seen a product, I again demanded my refund. AptDeco replied that it could only list my item for subsequent resale, starting at *full* price, and that I could only receive a partial refund in the resale amount. I refused this option and ceased further communication to pursue other means of disputing this charge and these now increasingly fraudulent tactics from the company. I saw that AptDeco proceeded to list my item NOT at the original $968 price but at the $865 price, which it continued to lower. Then, today, AptDeco notified me that it sold the item for $750, which credit I was now entitled to. By this, AptDeco intends to leave me with a standing charge of $429 for literally no product or service rendered. I neither saw nor received the bed, AptDeco conceded that it was never delivered nor attempted to be delivered at the times noticed, and AptDeco then resold it (adding, undoubtedly, another host of fees to the next customer), conspicuously at a much lower price, without my consent, all the while leaving me with a massive payment, including $94 for a delivery AptDeco CONCEDED never occurred. This is truly a first for me. Customer service aside (and none here whatsoever), AptDeco's actions demonstrate a complete exploitation. Take caution!

They certainly do NOT put soaking WET shoes for days in the SAME CUBBYHOLE to make it rust this way. Otherwise, this is where I store my cookbooks. They offered me an outsourced furniture service to 'fix' the issue AT MY COST. The fact that they won't listen to me, or admit this is a faulty piece of furniture, and help me replace it is mind-boggling. Three months passed after the day of purchase at this point I'm past the return policy. I threw my receipt away because I wasn't foreseeing any problems I was gonna encounter with this gorgeous blanket. After owning this blanket for three months I decided to wash it. I read the directions it clearly stated wash warm and dry warm which is what I did at the laundry mate. What happened nexts the blanket had burnt patches all over the place. So the nexts question is what do I do just deal with it it only cost me a 140 dollars, or do I take it back and have them exchange it or refund me due to a defected product I was sold? I explained the whole situation to them they appeared to understand my situation. The cashier did try to see if they had another one in stock they didn't he was gonna swap it out. But because they had no more blankets left in store they basically told me I was screwed and there wasn't anything they could do for me. I asked if this blanket could be ordered online they said yes. Because I didn't have proof of purchased they couldn't give me a store credit. I spoke to an operator before heading over. The operator said they could look up my receipt with the card I used to for payment. I did exactly this and it didn't work because I was informed after 30 days they delete all past transactions wtf? If I didn't push and threaten to protest to not leave the store until someone compensate me the staff/management would have screwed me over. 20 minutes later they finally decided to give me a store credit. I got no apologies nothing I left the store feeling like I wasn't a valued client. This is ok I'll just park my money somewhere else!

In recent years they've tried to change that opinion and have some decent things now. Which brings us to my issue - I ordered an entryway console and paid the extra shipping fee because it was a heavy item. The next level of service is a white glove service where the unpack, build and place your item. I didn't need that since UPS brings packages to your apt door and I could take it from there. This package was shipped with William Sonomas service - no tracking, no nothing. They dropped an 80lb box that was almost 4' long and awkward a step inside my apartment building lobby. No doorbell ring, no nothing. This thing was impossible to move without assistance. So they're still a terrible company with questionable quality pieces, but now their service sucks also.

Great location. Pretty housewares, merchandised beautifully…read more Based on my limited experience (I've stopped in ~3 times over the past quarter), getting things done around here requires interacting with the (seemingly capable) store staff, but there are too many shoppers and insufficient employees on the floor to help. I've been increasingly desperately in need of replacing my ~20-year old silverware that I think I purchased from a Bed Bath & Beyond for maybe $20. As it turns out, there's a pretty massive range of cutlery sets on the market, and I felt inclined to see and touch several options before making a purchase, especially if I'm going to drop substantially more than $20 on a replacement. This Crate & Barrel definitely doesn't lack for choice, but my transaction wasn't nearly as simple as picking out a box of new forks and knives. On my first visit, I narrowed down my selection based on aesthetics and material. I learned that I don't love textured metals, and I mildly prefer satin finishes over mirrored ones. I also discovered how massive a range in pricing there is between entry level cutlery and the high end brands. After reading several online reviews, I also determined that I wanted to purchase 18/10 steel for its durability. After all that, I'd figured out that C&B's Aero line (which seems to be a rebranded Cutipol product) might fit the bill, but I wasn't thrilled about the two-tone version they had on display. According to their website, they carry an all-metal version in store, and one of the employees was able to confirm it was in stock in the backroom, however, I had somewhere else to rush off to and decided to come back another time. On my second visit, I bee-lined it to the silverware section and waited to hunt down an employee who could help me obtain a set of the all-metal Aero cutlery. 10-15 minutes later, I finally got to handle a sample. This shit isn't cheap. I wasn't quite prepared to drop several hundred bucks on new silverware, but the store associate came up with the most brilliant idea: after confirming that there was no discount for purchasing multiple sets at once, she suggested I just buy one set to try out for awhile. That way, if I hated it, I wouldn't be out the full shebang. Genius, truly. Several weeks later, generally satisfied with the tester set, I returned for an additional three to round out my cutlery collection. It's a good thing I waited, too, because somewhere during the intervening time, they went on holiday sale for 20% off. My frugal inner Asian granny delights in a discount! Again, I had to wait around for a (harried) store employee to use their magical mobile app powers to summon a minion from the backroom for the ever-elusive non-displayed silverware and was -- eventually -- rewarded for my patience with a trio of shiny (more affordable!) utensil sets! All told, C&B offers a wide range of products. If what you're seeking isn't on display, there's a non-zero chance they might have more hidden away behind the scenes, so ask for help. And before arrival, be sure to gird your loins for a wait, because I've yet to encounter a scenario where there's an overabundance of staff standing around ready to assist.
