But if you only stop by to pick up some serums and sprays, or a beautiful jade comb, you will be missing out on the INCREDIBLE treatments. If you have a treatment at GingerChi, Rose, the Gua Sha Queen, will truly transport you to a place of peace, enjoyment, alignment, and utter self-care. You'll walk out energized and glowing. My particular favorites (so far) are the 90-minute Gua Sha head/neck/shoulders/face treatment and the Gua Sha facial (the rice bran mask....omg). I carry a ton of work stress (like all of us these days) and have bad neck issues, and Gua Sha at GingerChi is one of the few things that actually gets rid of the knots. Like Anna, Rose is warm, wonderful, and caring. Understand that this is a small storefront with usually only one therapist, which is incredible as you get complete peace and focus. It's in Two Bridges, so if that's not your usual stomping ground, there's lots of good food, art, and fun to be had before or after your visit. The cliche REALLY applies here that I'd really rather not tell anyone about GingerChi, because I always want to be able to get in. But what they are doing is so special that it must be shared.

She was so polite and professional, knew when to talk, when to be quiet, when to preview a service...just really spot on. And let's talk about the overall space. I neglected to bring them up in during my previous experience. The spa is a duplex building on 71st and Madison. When I've visited providers in this neighborhood, the interior is usually lacking. After all, it's a high rent area so you have to save somewhere. But, I kid you not when I tell you that every square foot of this oasis is gorgeous. Everything looks new - beautiful wood floors, tasteful design, and overall warmth and comfort throughout. I love that it seems like Vicki has truly invested not only in her therapists and friendly receptionist, but on the facility and equipment. Truly amazing. I am forever a loyal fan and recommend to anyone who needs a professional facial.

What an amazing experience at the Chas Dean NYC Studio with Marietta - and meeting Chas himself…read morewas a wonderful bonus on top of amazing hair. I was walking in the West Village a few weeks ago and looking for a new place and wandered into the Studio. It was a gorgeous space and I met and had a quick consult with Marietta. She immediately got my concerns and what I was looking to do and today way exceeded those expectations. The Studio was busy, understandable with Chas in town, and Marietta took her time, explained every step and made me feel like it was a collaboration. everyone in the studio was so kind, checked in often and made me feel special - from the receptionist, the Studio Manager, Chas's assistants, even the other women in the chairs. Already rebooked and have a plan for the rest of this year. I'm so in love with my hair (and Wen!) and can't wait to have this experience again.

Sisley Paris boutique on Bleecker is not a store, it is an experience. From the decor flown in from…read moreParis, to the original artwork on the walls that inspired the artistry on the perfume bottles, the attention to detail is phenomenal. Drop in for some tea or champagne or an event where you might receive a shoulder massage while learning about self care. In French there is a special word for self care in personal cosmetic application, "soin de beauté"- literally meaning beauty care (sounds better in French right?). The entire concept behind the products and the experience in store is centered around this idea of "self care" - a better translation. First- the products. Every product I have tried and used has proven results. Yes, the products are at a higher price point. However, they are worth every penny. Think about how much you spend at Sephora on the "next best item". Throw them out. One item is all you need all year at Sisley for each part of your beauty regimen. Each product is specially formulated to give specific results to aid your skin in healing itself. Every product is plant based. Every product is the result of years of research. Why such attention to detail? Because Sisley is independent. It is family owned. Almost every other product on the market is owned by about 3 or 4 large cosmetic conglomerates ( even La Mer), who are publicly traded and must answer to shareholders. What does that mean for your skin? Products that are diluted or changed for a larger profit margin to create quick fix "results" that aren't healthy for your skin in order to roll out the next product for the next quarter earnings. Enough about finance - the fact that it is family owned means that each product is the result of craftsmanship - something that resonates throughout the entire experience. Bottom line- these products deliver results. How many eye creams have you purchased in the last year? Think about that. It makes economic sense to invest in one that *works* rather than trying 3-4 that don't. Second- this boutique does not push products. The "vendeuses " (sales people) and the makeup artists carefully assist in curating a skin care (or makeup) regime that works for your skin's needs and your budget. They give out copious samples so you can see results before you buy. They truly want you to be happy with your skin and work with you to give you glowing skin one product at a time in a way that is healthy and makes sense for your skin. They provide facials as well and Danielle, my esthetician has taken care of my skin for years now. I cannot express enough how much care she gives to each facial and how amazing it is to have someone "follow" your skin's needs and help with products or pro-tips on how best to take care of your skin. Do I recommend this boutique? Yes, a million times over; the products are the best in the business, the team is gracious beyond compare and the entire experience at the gorgeous boutique is unparalleled in the city. My skin is GLOWING and I regularly receive compliments. Drop by- you won't be disappointed.
