That's one thing, you have to know what you want to buy before entering so they can take you seriously, this goes for a lot of cosmetic stores in flushing. They have a large selection of eyeliners, bb creams, skin care products, eyelashes, powders,face masks,skin care etc. What drew me into the store was the bb creams. In the glass window display at the left side of the store, you could see all the brands of bb creams like skin79, lioele,missha etc.. They sell the REAL Skin79 hot pink triple functions bb cream for $30, which is cheaper than fashion city's price, but it definitely be cheaper to buy online. They also have many powders and compacts, I saw that they had some lioele compacts, blushes and bronzers and other asian brands as well. They have so much eyeliner! There was a whole wall/rack of it in the back right hand corner. I bought the MSH eyescream gel liner which was $20.00.I asked her if they had gel eyeliner and she recommended this one stating that she had even used it on her eyes that day. They even had Dolly wink products : eyeliners,eye-shadow palettes,eyelashes + lashes case. The Dolly wink eyeliner was $18-22 dollars which is cheaper than Belle's Beauty lab in the Queen crossings mall next to mango(which sold for $25). It's a great store with a large variety of Asian cosmetics :)

The selection is pretty extensive everything from braiding hair to drug store make to Chinese beats products all under one roof. I wouldn't make this my destination for weave but braiding hair here is relatively cheap $2 and I saw a some crochet braids for $6. All in all got my gold beads for box braids and a jumbo bonnet for $7 with tax. As for the whole racial profiling business, the countless times I've been here I have never felt followed or watched. However judging by the "wall of shame" they have on the door it seems like this place has a major shoplifting issue lol

Items on shelf had pricing so you know cost of the object you want to purchase. Tons of selection for snack and candies. This little boy was grabbing different variety of candy. Was impressed with the amount of items stocked at this Teso Life from edible items to cosmetics and kitchen products too. Love it that Teso Life is near the train station and bus stops too.

I would give this place negative stars if it were an option…read more I was in search of wholesale fragrance oils and my research led me here (by way of a reputable manufacturer whose oils I am familiar with and who told me that this store carried their products.....I think they need to do a little more research into where they're sending people.....) The minute I walked in the door, I was skeptical, The fragrance oils were kept in those clear plastic bottles you find them in at street fairs. The oils were electric blue, shocking pink, algae green, neon orange.....but I told myself "Oh, that must be something else, what I'm looking for must be kept somewhere out of sunlight.", since I know that the oils they allegedly carried are expensive, natural synthetics(no dye added) and photosensitive. They can't be stored this way. I asked for several fragrances that I had called ahead to make sure they had. And yup, they were pulled from these very shelves. I forged on still in denial thinking that maybe they had just added the dyes to the oils for some stupid reason and decided that I wouldn't be going for anything that wasn't clear, even if it had been on my list. The woman who was "helping" me stopped me after I told her the first oil I was interested in and informed me that they didn't have the scent I had asked for. I told her I had called in advance and traveled to the store because I was told that they carried it. She then turned around and pulled it from the shelf informing me that "This isn't Bath and Body Works, you aren't going to like it." I told her I was fully aware of that and that I was not looking for Bath and Body Works. She kept walking away from me into a back room as I was speaking. When I finally got her attention again, I named two more oils from my list of five and she interrupted me again saying "That's it. You can't just keep smelling oils, the limit is three." I asked her how I was supposed to buy anything without smelling it first and she told me that "People come in here all the time and they just smell and smell and don't buy." This resulted in a pretty uncomfortable and unpleasant exchange, after which I guess she realized I wasn't a teenager. She grudgingly simmered down and I (so hellbent on believing, despite all signs to the contrary, that at least one of the clear oils she had pulled out was what I had been looking for) asked her if I could have a tester strip to try the oil on my skin because I wasn't really smelling much from the bottle. She said "Yea, try it on." And I said "Just stick my finger in the bottle?" She told me "Sure." and when I looked unsure, she handed me a paper towel. I found that really gross and unhygienic. I asked the base of the oils, they said they didn't know but that none of them contained alcohol or animal products. These were, unsurprisingly not the oils I knew and was hunting down. The consistency was very vaguely oily but really watery and thin. I don't believe there was alcohol in them, my guess is that they were cut with water. They dried to be overly sweet, transparent, very cheap smelling fragrances. My condolences to the woman who couldn't bare the sight of me, but their product makes Bath and Body Works sprays seem like Chanel No.5. Nevermind the customer service. Avoid!

Her curriculum included information on the elements of creating a fragrance (base, heart, and top notes), and we spent time smelling different materials from olfactory families such as citrus, spices, florals, and rustics. The class was originally two hours, but we went over because Julia let us smell a few synthetics and some of the scents she was working on. Overall, it was super fun and a great learning experience! Also, I visited her again in her studio to purchase her fragrance Chakra. It's definitely my favorite scent, and I'm going to have to order another bottle soon...or just order a custom fragrance since she's so good!
