The amenities are excellent. They have a hammam with a heated stone, sauna, steam room, salt-air room, separate men's and women's relaxation areas, and also a co-ed relaxation space. They even had pastries made by the hotel available in the lounge. The pool was closed during my visit and may be seasonal, but there was still more than enough to make it worth staying for several hours. I also had a 90-minute deep-tissue massage, which was excellent and very professional. I came around 3 p.m. on a weekday and the spa was quiet and relaxing, which made the experience even better. You could easily make a full spa day out of this place. Great facilities, relaxing atmosphere, excellent massage, and a very convenient SoHo/downtown Manhattan location. I'll definitely be back.

I confirmed with someone who answered the phone that the injector did indeed add units that did that. Again... without asking me if it was ok. For some reason the person who I spoke to on the phone thinks a consultation will help. However, I already know from experience that once they inject it the only thing that works is letting it wear off and I have to have severe eye strain for 3 months. The injector was also very careless and I bruised like never before. She even just felt sloppy and inexperienced. I'll never go back again. Nothing like the feeling of waking up with eye strain when your eyes should be relaxed! And the shape of my eyes is so terrible and embarrassing.

My review highlights an unethical practice that's unfortunately widespread in the city. I typically get Botox treatments at Body Factory, and while the nurses are generally skilled and the facilities (I've been to all three locations) are clean and well-maintained, the issue lies with their tipping policy. Medical professionals, including nurse practitioners and registered nurses, are prohibited from soliciting or accepting tips. Their professional code of conduct clearly forbids this. Let me repeat this: MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, INCLUDING NURSES, ARE EXPLICITLY PROHIBITED FROM SOLICITING OR RECEIVING TIPS. THERE IS NO GREY AREA HERE. ACCEPTING TIPS IS UNETHICAL FOR THESE PROFESSIONALS. However, every time I go to pay, I'm put in an uncomfortable position. The staff at the register either directly asks for a tip or presents the credit card machine with a tipping option, treating it as if it's standard practice. This behavior is wrong, unethical, and embarrassing on purpose. Treatments here are already expensive, often costing me close to or over $500. Yet, they still have the audacity to suggest a 20%/30% tip -- that's an additional and unethical $100 or more they take. This practice is wrong and unethical, and again, tips should not be requested, given, suggested, or even accepted if offered. While customers technically have the option to decline, the correct approach would be never to request a tip, never mention it, and not include it as an option in the payment process. Putting clients in an uncomfortable position is NEVER the answer. Please learn and remove the tipping option from your credit card payments.

Sisley Paris

Sisley Paris boutique on Bleecker is not a store, it is an experience. From the decor flown in from…read moreParis, to the original artwork on the walls that inspired the artistry on the perfume bottles, the attention to detail is phenomenal. Drop in for some tea or champagne or an event where you might receive a shoulder massage while learning about self care. In French there is a special word for self care in personal cosmetic application, "soin de beauté"- literally meaning beauty care (sounds better in French right?). The entire concept behind the products and the experience in store is centered around this idea of "self care" - a better translation. First- the products. Every product I have tried and used has proven results. Yes, the products are at a higher price point. However, they are worth every penny. Think about how much you spend at Sephora on the "next best item". Throw them out. One item is all you need all year at Sisley for each part of your beauty regimen. Each product is specially formulated to give specific results to aid your skin in healing itself. Every product is plant based. Every product is the result of years of research. Why such attention to detail? Because Sisley is independent. It is family owned. Almost every other product on the market is owned by about 3 or 4 large cosmetic conglomerates ( even La Mer), who are publicly traded and must answer to shareholders. What does that mean for your skin? Products that are diluted or changed for a larger profit margin to create quick fix "results" that aren't healthy for your skin in order to roll out the next product for the next quarter earnings. Enough about finance - the fact that it is family owned means that each product is the result of craftsmanship - something that resonates throughout the entire experience. Bottom line- these products deliver results. How many eye creams have you purchased in the last year? Think about that. It makes economic sense to invest in one that *works* rather than trying 3-4 that don't. Second- this boutique does not push products. The "vendeuses " (sales people) and the makeup artists carefully assist in curating a skin care (or makeup) regime that works for your skin's needs and your budget. They give out copious samples so you can see results before you buy. They truly want you to be happy with your skin and work with you to give you glowing skin one product at a time in a way that is healthy and makes sense for your skin. They provide facials as well and Danielle, my esthetician has taken care of my skin for years now. I cannot express enough how much care she gives to each facial and how amazing it is to have someone "follow" your skin's needs and help with products or pro-tips on how best to take care of your skin. Do I recommend this boutique? Yes, a million times over; the products are the best in the business, the team is gracious beyond compare and the entire experience at the gorgeous boutique is unparalleled in the city. My skin is GLOWING and I regularly receive compliments. Drop by- you won't be disappointed.

The Heaven and Earth Gua Sha Natural Face Lift at GingerChi New York was hands down the best thing I did during my trip to NYC. I was only in New York from Thursday to Sunday and had a packed schedule, so I feel incredibly lucky that I was able to get an appointment with the owner, Anna. From the moment I arrived, the space felt calm, welcoming, and completely removed from the busy energy of the city. The treatment itself was deeply relaxing and restorative. Anna was knowledgeable, attentive, and took the time to make me feel comfortable throughout the experience. What impressed me most was how refreshed and lifted my face looked afterward, but beyond the physical results, I left feeling grounded and recharged. It was exactly what I needed during an otherwise hectic weekend. If you're visiting New York or even if you're a local looking for self-care that delivers both relaxation and visible results, I highly recommend the Heaven and Earth Gua Sha Natural Face Lift at GingerChi. It was truly the highlight of my weekend and an experience I won't forget. read more

I'm still basking in the glow of my amazing guasha facial from GingerChi! I discovered this studio on Instagram and am very glad that I did. Located in East Chinatown, it's a bit of a trek for me but so worth it! If you've never experienced a guasha facial or have been curious about it, this is definitely the very best place to learn more. I've had several guasha facials elsewhere and although they were good, there is no comparison with the service here. Rose, the aesthetician, is just brilliant and clearly a master at her craft. The owner, Anna, is just delightful as well. The "Heaven and Earth" facial includes a good deal of acupressure massage on other parts of the body, (head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands and legs), which was a added treat. I walked away not only feeling blissfully relaxed but looking about ten years younger too! I really didn't want to leave and will be back as soon as possible! read more

This was probably the biggest gift I could have made to myself while being in New York for one month and one of the most precious treatments I ever received. The place itself is very cute, atmospheric, aesthetically appealing and gently filled with natural scents. I booked the Heaven and Earth Gua Sha treatment for 90 minutes, felt comfortable and loved every second of it. Rose's hands and presence made this the most calming and recharging experience I had in New York. And the skin of my face was left relaxed, glowing, smooth and elastic. I definitely recommend booking 90 minutes as it includes a whole body massage that really completes the whole experience. Thank you Rose and Anna for one of the most precious treatments I ever had! read more

I would give GingerChi 10 stars if I could! I had a Heaven and Earth Gua Sha Face Lift and can't say enough good things about it. I felt very welcomed, and the studio was calming and clean. I normally tend to space out during these types of treatments, but because each aspect was so intentional and pleasant, I found myself enjoying the sensation of every moment. The ASMR-inducing clacking of the tools, the scent of the oils, the amazing hand and scalp massage at the end - it was such a lovely pampering. And I am extremely pleased with how soft and rejuvenated my face feels and looks afterwards. I feel lucky to have chosen this spa and am grateful to the staff for making this such a wonderful, special experience. read more
