After watching videos and becoming convinced that nothing would go array like the machine choking me, I decided to give it a try. Pro tip: there is a PULSD coupon for a 30 min back & glute massage @ $29 There are many positives: you can adjust the pressure, and turning the dial up to maximum pressure truly has some umph behind it! Also, you can get a nice, deep glute massage which is usually avoided out of modesty with a regular masseuse. Ultimately, I felt it was more of a pedicure massage chair-esque reprieve. It felt nice at the moment, but I still left with knots. It didn't work on upper traps much, which is where most my tension is. I would go back, but would love a 90 min experience to get more of a release. Either way, a super unique experience and being inside the Palace hotel makes you feel extra bougie. read more

Came here to try out the Aescape robotics massage, where a robot gives you a consistent and through massage. The spa is located on the 8th floor, so you can walk into the hotel from any entrance and go straight to the elevator without anyone stopping you (at least that's what happened with me, except I stopped and asked for directions). Upon approaching the front desk, you are happily greeted by a staff member who will check you in, tell you all the great features and available amenities. He'll pour you some refreshing cucumber water while you wait. I was then escorted to the lounge, which is their waiting room, where there were select snacks available including strawberries and chocolate. And it's not just a lounge, they got Himalayan rock salts on blast with relaxing spa music playing gently in the background while you can overlook the famous cathedral that everyone visits by Rockefeller Center. When the massage room is ready, a staff member will escort you to the room with their specific massage clothing to wear, which are intentionally snug (they ask you at the front desk at check-in what size you wear). You change into that and you are well on your way to having a unique massage experience. Everything is adjustable, besides the preprogrammed massage routine the robot already has depending on which package you choose prior to the appointment. You can change the music, adjust the foot rest, the pressure for the massage, all on the iPad infant of you when you lay down. I did the 30 minute full back and glutes, which is the most popular package. I probably could have done without the glutes as I may have felt a bit violated, but the back massage was just what I needed. The one issue was the clothing, which it get caught on the robot if you increase the pressure past a certain amount, which I think was anywhere above 70%. Apparently the employees behind Aescape are already working on it, so I'll be looking forward to see what their solution is for this issue. Don't forget that you get to utilize their sauna, which comes complementary with the massage. Their sauna is in each of the respective locker rooms and they're spanking nice. read more

Aescape is one of the newest experiences in NYC. As a New Yorker, I'm always down to try the next best thing, especially since I visit a masseuse regularly. This location gave me the opportunity to visit the Lotte New York Palace, with stunning views of St. Patrick's Cathedral. The staffs were friendly and welcoming. They start you off in a waiting area overlooking the cathedral, offering snacks and refreshments in a serene, zen setting. They provide their own outfits--make sure to choose a tighter fit so the robotic arm doesn't drag the excess material. The room was quite intimate, and I loved that everything was adjustable, from the leg rest to the ambiance and massage pressure. Overall, I think I prefer an AI massage over human hands--it provides consistency and eliminates the awkwardness that sometimes comes with a traditional massage, if you know what I mean. read more

Myself and my wife came here for some treatments recently and all I can say is that in all my years in NYC this was the best. The service Ms Castro and her team provided was second to none . The massage was truly out of this world and I lobe my massages! The red light therpy machine is amazing and is good for guys also. We had to get out of there before Ms Castro sold us any other packages she was amazing to work with and we will definitely be back.. Came here for an express mani and pedi that came with my stay at the Lotte palace... she was very nice, helped me pick out my colors but unfortunately, they were missing a lot of the colors from the Butter collection. I must say, I think I could have done a better job doing it myself. The top coat ruined the nails, imo. Otherwise, everyone was very sweet. Very overpriced for what I got and also they add gratuity automatically. read more

I want to add before I write this review: the quality of the space (sauna, massage) is amazing. However. This spa will scam you, steal your money, and never give it back. The first problem is their misleading website. I booked a "luxury couples suite" for my partner's birthday for $260. The website DOES NOT LIST that this "luxury COUPLES suite" is for ONE MASSAGE FOR ONE PERSON? So, you book this and show up and they say it's just for one person. Granted, they called me in advance to try and inform me, but this is red flag number one. Extremely disheartening and misleading. So. We are then told a second masseuse can stay overtime it will be complimentary. KEY WORD: COMPLIMENTARY!!!!!!! So, I think "wow". What kind people to accommodate us YOUNG PROFESSIONALS WITH NOT THAT MUCH MONEY. We are both 25, at the start of our careers, and this is a true expense for a special occasion. To my absolute shock, I walk out to a bill of $697 dollars. My jaw drops. I don't want to cause a fuss, so I pay, and when I get home I send an email asking why. The massage was absolutely NOT complimentary, they misled me. If I knew I had to pay for two, I never would have done it. I simply cannot afford services for that kind of money. The service charge for one massage is $120, which they do not include on their website. This is a significant omission - I predict the number of customers they'd have will drastically decrease if they knew the reality of their pricing here. It's NOT $260 for you and your partner to get a nice luxury suite. It's actually going to be almost $700. They never gave me any money back. And now I cannot afford groceries. They are horrid liars. If you're rich and don't care and can throw money around, it's a great place. But they will steal from you. read more
