I had great experience at this spa! My boyfriend and I purchased the 50 minute Couples Swedish Massage and it was just what we needed to start off our anniversary. The massage rooms are downstairs and once you check in, they bring you there and give you a moment to take off your clothes. The masseuse asked me if the pressure was too hard or soft so I appreciate the attentiveness. Cleanliness is huge for me and the spa was very clean! Afterword one hour massage was over, we went back upstairs and were given some tea as a part of our package (we purchased it via Groupon). I want to come back here and experience the Rose room at a different time, but now that I am familiar with this place I feel very happy and will be returning Customer. Tips-- -Bathroom is on the first floor -If you have trouble with stairs, not too sure if this place is for you unless the owner responds and says otherwise. Felt rushed because they kept asking at the door if we were ready for the massage. Once we laid down and gave them the okay, two masseuses came in. To be quite honest, the massages were very mediocre. We left here sadly disappointed. We thought it would be great when they asked us if we had any health conditions and pressure desire. However, once they got started, the swedish massage techniques involved them putting some pressure on your back and going up and down numerous times with their hands and forearms. Also, they would just rest their hands/arms on your back for about 30 sec or more. Additionally, my left jaw started to hurt after awhile because of the head placement on the bed. It's as if the massage face holder is small or not well cushioned. Thought it was only me, but my boyfriend said the same thing. I literally had to lift my head up from the head placement holder to readjust my jaw and lift the pressure off. At one point they rubbed my head with a towel or paper towel and that was weird as if im washing my hair. Not satisfying at all. It's the same with the neck. Just a little neck rubbing with no effort. All in all my boyfriend and I were unsatisfied with the massage. Maybe we got the mediocre masseuses because once we got to the waiting area for our tea, we saw another couple relaxing with their tea. First time getting a massage since precovid. I'm not an expert on massages, but I thought that for the price and the time spent, it was well worth it. I found this place on pulsd, I called, and they said I won't get charged tax, and they will honor the same price if I pay in-house with cash. That's what I did! The massage felt good, and I'm glad that a lady massaged me as I forgot to ask specifically. At first, I thought it was strange because I had a blanket over me, and I was massaged with it. I got a 90 minute deep tissue full body massage by Ping and she did not disappoint. I haven't had a massage in a while so I was tense and awkward when I came in. The front desk staff and Ping immediately put me at ease and offered a glass of wine. From there my room was prepared. My body was tight and tense from years of sitting down at work all of the time so I let Ping know it's okay to apply pressure!! I personally can't stand a light handed massage! Ping applied pressure to the right places, paying special attention to the stress knots in my neck and lower back. The room was clean, quiet and peaceful. Ping definitely took her time and left me feeling like a new woman! This was the perfect way for a busy working mom like myself to enjoy Mother's Day I also like that you don't have to tip your massage therapist directly. I gave Ping's tip to the front desk staff and they made sure it got to her! :) I definitely recommend this spa for a couples or a solo massage. Before we start, you can grab a drink of water first. We were led downstairs to one of the rooms. And wow, was it dark and red! My boyfriend and I bought the Groupon Couples Swedish Massage with Tea ($140), which doesn't include sanitation fee and tips. There was a video on the site depicting what a couple's massage was. So, not me thinking the experience would allow us to look at each other like the video! The couple's massage was quite literally just us doing a massage in the same room. In fact, my head was pretty much face down, and my eyes, closed the whole time! Not complaining though, but the video is amusing. For my first massage, the Swedish Massage was a fantastic intro. My lady seemed very professional and was very observant to my reactions, making sure the pressure was comfortable for me. They used oil at one point, and a hot towel was given last to wipe it off. There was a nice calming music, with a slightly eerie part, playing in the background the whole time. My body was so smooth by the end of the massage! My boyfriend and I were visiting NYC and decided to do a couple's massage. Although we arrived a bit early, the staff took us back to the room immediately. The room was a bit utilitarian, with rose petals scattered on the bed and a locker in the corner. They had us put on disposable underwear, which I found a bit odd, as I'm used to being naked during massages. Also, instead of the standard ring for the customer to put their head, there was a towel in a ring shape over plastic wrap on the bed. This made the massage a tad uncomfortable, as I spent much of my time face down while the massage therapist worked on my back. She also seemed to spend more attention on one side than the other. I like a little more symmetry in my massage, where equal attention is paid to both sides. I'm also accustomed to the massage therapist doing a scalp massage, and that didn't happen this time. Between the massage and salt scrub, I also got a bandeau to cover my bosom. It was the only time I was on my back. After the worker wiped the salt scrub off with towels, we were led to another room with the rose petal bath. Now, that was nice, although, again, the tub was layered with plastic, which I found odd. I guess they do that to make it easier to clean. But the bath was soothing and relaxing. The staff was friendly, but the massage could have been better. read more

An hour massage didn't include our front of our thighs???? They were massaged faced down but faced up they weren't, which confused me a little since glutes are a frequently used muscle that often becomes sore. So my cousin and I were looking for a way to relax from our hectic mom lives and she found this spa via Groupon last weekend and booked us for the 8:30p slot this Saturday evening. First of all, the place is very easy to find. There's a large sign right over the door to the entrance telling you that you are in the right place. The ambiance and decor is fantastic. They have two red massage chairs right on the reception level and it's really cute. Right from the word hello, we were offered our choice of complimentary beverages. We both opted for the red table sangria (Kirkland-delicious!). Then we were shown down the stairs to the Moon room by the man at the front. I can only assume he is the owner, if not one of the owners. We were instructed on what clothing articles to remove and keep on and then left to it. The women who gave us our massages came in and after asking about pressure levels we wanted, went right to it. It was a very relaxing hour long massage. They really focus on the back and shoulder areas. A problem area for me and so I simply loved the attention given to it. They used a hot towel to wipe us down and relax our muscles before having us flip over to the front and they continued to shoulders and neck before moving to the legs and finally the ankles of our feet. My cousin was so relaxed she dozed off on the table during the process twice. I was relaxed but awake and it was honestly a great experience. Afterwards, we showed ourselves back upstairs and paid the tax ($10) and a tip ($60) split two ways. Then the owner offered us more sangria and left the bottle for us. It was honestly a really nice time. They deserve the good reviews they have because they are very customer service oriented and I will return. Just an FYI: it may be called The Couples Spa but that doesn't necessarily mean romantic couple. We two cousins went as a couple and they loved it. My husband and I scheduled the couples aromatherapy massage on a Sunday morning via Groupon, and also more than a month in advance, FYI to schedule accordingly. Was this a great massage? Absolutely. Best massage I've ever had? Not quite there. The pressure is strong (they even climb on the tables to get to certain pressure points) and the massage is very back centric- not necessarily a bad thing as I did personally have quite a few knots in the area, but I wouldn't deem it as an entire full body relaxing experience. It was our 6 year anniversary so my boyfriend and I decided to have a relaxing day at The Petal Rooms, which is offered through the Couple Spa website and selected the couple's package for 60 minute massages, 60 minute facials, and 45 minute private time in the petal room. We were greeted nicely by staff when we arrived and were literally taken cared of throughout our time there. We barely lifted a finger! The atmosphere was dim and soothing. We were offered sangria and champagne before starting the experience. We then changed out of our clothes and laid near each other on the massage tables. I started out with the massage meanwhile my boyfriend had the facial and then vice versa. We could tell the massage therapist and aesthetician both knew what they were doing. The massage had the right amount of pressure and was tranquil. I do have to say that the facial was a bit painful during the extractions but this was the first time I had extractions done so I am not used to it. My face so much cleaner afterward. We were offered cheesecake when we finished the massages and facials and enjoyed it while sitting in the massage chairs. We also got a free foot massage, which was an added bonus! The decor is a bit tacky, and it's not very romantic inside. But like I said, it's great as long as you're not paying full price for the service - make sure to get a Groupon! I had to rebook our appointment a couples of times and they were very accommodating. When you enter the spa just be prepared for a lot of red and hearts.
