Six Flags over Georgia was our regional theme park growing up! It was really a special occasion (like winning our softball All Stars tournament, which we never did) that brought us to Six Flags! I still recall the "Great American Scream Machine," which opened in 1973 as the largest roller coaster in the world at that time and of course, was the anchor attraction at Six Flags over Georgia!! The Screen Machine of 105 feet (32 m) tall and reached speeds of 57 miles per hour - it really was a scary wooden roller coaster to ride! I am not a thrill seeker and not a fan of theme parks in general, making Six Flags, for me, not really all that fun. My long time best friend is a thrill seeker, and, because she worked at an ABC affiliate in promotions in Birmingham was able to score free passes for us to go to Six Flags over Georgia several times, and we could bypass the lines! We could knock out all the fun roller coasters and other rides in no time at all! The "Riddler Mindbender" steel flying roller coaster was another roller coaster we liked to ride. The park was fully transformed. Decorations everywhere, spooky lighting as the sun went down, and that perfect mix of eerie and fun that only works in October. It added a whole extra layer to the experience. The highlight was Superman: Ultimate Flight. This isn't just another roller coaster. You're rotated until you're completely face-down, arms dangling, staring straight toward the ground. That moment before the launch is pure suspense -- especially with Halloween decorations below you. Once it takes off, the sensation is incredible. It truly feels like flying. The weightlessness, the wind rushing past your face, and the sweeping dives make you forget you're even on a track. Located just 20-30 minutes outside of Atlanta, Six Flags Over Georgia is a fun time for all ages. Day passes cost $45 and fast pass options range from $100-$170. We went with the mid range option which was perfect! You virtually sign up for your next rides fast pass lane and most wait times were 20-30 minutes. We would book our next ride while in line for our current one and walked over just at the right time or we used the time for a bite. Never waited! We were able to ride about 6-8 rides over a 4 hour period. These aren't super scary drops so most people will find them tolerable. Superman was a cool concept where you're standing then "flying" around the ride. The only issue with our visit was our wait times for food and beverages. Service was so slow! Super understaffed it was almost unbearable. Season pass is a good option for repeat visits, free parking, and 15%+ off on items and food around the park. read more

My wheelchair bound daughter approached 4 different workers asking about where to go and each dumb, lazyass motherfucker said that they didn't know. And that was it. Worst theme park experience ever! Booked a trip months ago based on their calendar. Thought it would be a good idea on a Friday before all the schools let out. Literally 2/3 of ALL rides were closed, nearly every restaurant/food facility, most of the stores ALL closed. We bought premium dining and managed a pretzel. The only other things open were the pizzaria and dip and dots. Apparently they claim they were supposed to be open for a private event and decided to open to the public. Well we drove 3.5hrs and brought family from the west coast! It was a HUGE waste of time and money and gas $5/gal! If you aren't staffed DON'T OPEN! read more

Six Flags has sadly gone downhill over the last few years. Most rides are constantly shut down. The workers do not seem to want to be there, let alone try to give guests a good experience. There are no characters or shows anymore. The food prices have doubled. Membership perks have been taken away. Half of the shops that were unique to the rides are now closed down. They no longer accept paper cash--you have to purchase a card to buy things if you bring cash. Beware of the surrounding neighborhood. People have been sh0t in the parking lots. The only redeeming things at this park now are the Goliath and Batman roller coasters. Skip this park; not worth the hassle or money. read more

I'm a theme/amusement park enthusiast, and I was here with my coaster club, Melanin Coaster Network for their Juneteenth event. All in all we had a lovely day there. We started our day off with some Exclusive Ride Time on Goliath. They opened the park up an hour early for us, and we got to ride this ride over and over. It's a smooth ride with lots of great views and air time! We hit up a couple more rides before it was time for lunch. We were served a buffet lunch which was a part of our event. But unfortunately the food ran out before everyone was able to get enough. We had a fun time playing R&B bingo which was also a part of our event. The host and her crew were great. The game was fun but it did go on a little longer than we expected. After that it was back to the rides. They have some fun rides there. My coaster crew enjoyed many of them. I like more of the smooth, tamer rides. So some of the rides were too rickety for me. My favorites were Goliath and Twisted Cyclone. Gold Rusher was cool too, but unfortunately our side didn't spin so I didn't get the full experience. Yes most of the people working in the park were young which is pretty typical. They were fine though. Many of them weren't overly friendly. But they weren't rude to us. The parking attendants were friendly too. However I will say the dispatches were WAY too slow on some rides even though it was a very slow day. I don't know when I'll be back in the area. But as an all park passport holder, I'd definitely go back. read more

Well. I had a good day here but... I think I would have appreciated it more if I wasn't a few ears away from being a Disney adult, lol. I love having an amusement park in the city I live in. Although I'm a native Floridian, I was raised hours away from Orlando but it's a right of passage to go there. So living in the beautiful city of Atlanta now, I'm stoked that there's an amusement park that I can get to in minutes. Major plus! I have never been to a Six Flags park before this visit, at least not that I can remember. So I considered this my first time. I researched online, obsessed over TikToks and all that good stuff because if I'm nothing, I'm dramatic lol. You'd think I was planning a long distance trip. But it helped me prepare! We arrived as soon as the park was opening. Parking was a breeze and I loved that there was a tram ready and waiting for us to get on. We were driven to the front of the park and dropped off within minutes. The lines weren't too bad and we entered within minutes with our passes. First impression, it was incredibly clean. I know they had just opened but throughout the day, I don't remember seeing any trash on the grounds. Love that! My favorite rides were Superman and Thunder River. I was so surprised at the thrill I got from Thunder River! We walked off of the ride soaked and laughing our faces off. Superman was also fantastic. It's crazy to be in a position like that just zooming over the park. I hadn't been on a roller coaster in so long, that was a nice welcome back into the fun. Part of me is interested in visiting the water park someday soon to beat the heat. We contemplated getting fast passes but because we were early, we didn't end up waiting too long in any of the lines. In the future if we go later in the afternoon, I may consider getting those passes because the lines actually picked up as the day went on. I purchased one of the dining plans because, greedy, and I'm still iffy on if I thought it worth it. My issue was: my friend was ordering a souvenir cup and by the time you pay for that, it's only a few bucks away from the dining plan cost. So she got a dining plan. When we went about the day, she got a snack and then I went to get a snack and couldn't. We thought we had the same pass? Apparently not. I'm not sure how that got messed up but I ended up paying for snacks and she only had her 1 meal and snack. I'm still not sure which was a better value lol. The fries were perfection but the burger I had was very sad. If I do the dining plan again, no burger. I did LOVE the souvenir cup! On a hot day in the South, it's great to have a refreshing drink. Everywhere we turned there was another refill station. I kept my cup filled with water, powerade and coke zero and was so hydrated in the 97 deg+ weather. Totally worth the money and easy to hold onto. There were a number of restaurants that were closed which sucked, and the wall murals could use some touch-ups but the vibes are there lol. We caught a show outside of the BBQ joint that was some nice family fun. Cheesy but cute and nice for the kids to have some G-rated entertainment. I loved seeing Tweety Bird, Taz and all the DC characters walking around. I wish they had more shows. All in all, I started this review at 3-stars and by the end, it turned into 4-stars because I really did have a good time. This was my first time at Six Flags in quite a long time. I was actually lucky enough to go with my wife for a work event. She works at Coca-Cola, and they had rented out the entire park for Coca-Cola employees' and their friends and family, which was AWESOME. We were able to ride practically everything without barely any wait at all. We even rode some things more than once, which was so cool. Normally, we would probably only be able to ride a handful of coasters and have to wait a super long time, if we went on any other weekend. read more

Fright fest is a blast... I have written reviews before about the staffing, lack of staffing, and just general disdain the staff has... but not this time!! There were 6 of us in our group and we had a blast! Staff that we interacted with was fantastic! For the most part.... Helpful, kind accommodating and all. I will say though that at the eateries we did have issues... the turkey leg place ran out of legs and had a long line that they didn't tell anyone until you got to the window. Then they said it would be another hour!! First of all someone messed up... they had them they just were not staying on top of cooking them. Secondly how do you let people stand in line for 45 mins and not tell people you're out of the number 1 item you sell?! Then when we went to the next place there was only one person running the register and taking orders... with a line going out the door! It took forever.. but at least they were not out of chicken tenders. They seriously need better management in the food areas! Pull a person out them on register. Make sure your teens are watching the supply and cooking when things need to be cooked! I don't blame the kids... is the bosses that are at fault here. However the event was fun, all of us had a great time... and we will do this again. The cast walking around as monsters weee great! Six flags was awesome. The twisted cyclone was crazy. We went at October and they had cool items like blood bags. They decorated the entrance too! The food there was also delicious. But the lines for the rides were insane. Average wait: (60 min to 85 min). We had my friend's birthday party here and it was awesome. I recommend the Joker Funhouse Coaster, Twisted Cyclone, (if you're up for it) and Harley Quinn whirl spin. We will be back when we have the time! read more

The fast pass situation needs some work. We stood in line at customer service because apparently there is an app separate from the park's main app that you need in order to use the fast pass, which no one told us. Also, the fast pass lied about being able to go directly in and we still waited 45 minutes with the pass. Multiple coasters were not working. The price for a cheeseburger and chicken fingers was $52. The signs look they haven't been painted in 2 decades. Everything is dilapidated. I can't think of a single thing that impressed me other than riding the Batman coaster. I feel like they should give me money back for the fast pass or at least use it to make the park nicer. read more

I love theme parks but living in Florida has me used to Universal, Disney, Busch Gardens, and Sea World so I wasn't really sure what to expect at my first time at Six Flags. It was a fun day but I don't think it really compares. The park is quite large and it was a little confusing getting around. I felt like we were constantly backtracking or winding up at dead ends. Besides Loony Tune land and the DC area, it felt like the other zones didn't really have any themes, even the rides. There were a decent number of roller coasters but you could tell they were a bit old/outdated. The Great American Scream Machine banged my head up pretty good and some of the other ones were extremely jerky or had very hard brakes at the stop. They were also really short, like maximum 30 second rides. I did really like Superman, twisted cyclone and pandamonium. The staff was not great and most were rude. The majority were teenagers and you could tell they didn't really care about their job. We had questions about our flash pass when we got there and we had to go to 3 different people for the answer and the person that final did and answer us, answered us in a way that made us feel stupid for not knowing. There was a ride that we went on and it was 2 seats per row so my fiance and I got in one row and my cousin was going to sit in the row in front of us but the people before him were talking a bit to get out of their seat so when they finally got up, he went to move forward and the gate shut before he could get on. We told the worker that he was trying to get on and wanted to sit with us and she shrugged and said once the gates shut it's too late. It just seemed inefficient? There were multiple cases during the day where empty rows/cars were being sent out even though there were long lines. It honestly just seemed like they didn't care. We had lunch at the bbq place and the pulled pork and cornbread was pretty good. The Mac and cheese was not good at all. Overall it was a fun day and because we had the flash pass, we were able to ride everything. read more

Six Flags will always be Six Flags in its own way. We still had a great time, and that's what keeps people coming back. However, I'm really hoping Cedar Fair can bring improvements to the park--better efficiency, stronger accountability, improved staff training, and more transparency about which rides and restaurants will be open or closed. Make sure to download the app before your visit and check the status of rides. And don't be surprised if some of your favorite restaurants are closed--I still haven't been able to grab a slice of pizza there because Primo's is almost always closed! read more

My biggest issue are the kids areas. The photos of naked people kissing I posted are in the kids area on the Merry-Go-Round. On top of that, prices have doubled, rewards have been removed, included meals are gone from the dining pass, and the digital system has transaction issues everyone we go. We've been members since 2015 and have watched the decline. Don't get me started on the bad attitudes and employees closing restaurants early whenever they feel like it smh. We lucked out when we went because school started back in the area and there were no crowds. It called for rain and it didn't until right before we left. It was overcast off and on during the heat, so no complains. We got almost a full day in and very happy about being able to ride almost all of the rides while we were there. The park could use some cleaning up. The trash bins were full and the bathrooms weren't kept up when we went in them. Since it wasn't busy and no wait for the lines, it was surprising to see that end of it. The Twisted Cyclone, Goliath, and Great American Scream Machine were some of my favorite coasters. It's cheaper to get the tickets online and we opted for the refund deal in case the weather had other things in mind. There are different kinds of beverage and food options and there was even a moonshine bar near the Great American Scream Machine coaster in case you want to fill your adult thirst on. It is such a disappointment that this park is 2 stars even tho this is one of the best parks I've been to! It is way better then a fair there is a lot of long lines and it has a roller coaster that is going extinct and it is the Riddler mind bender it should be a little bit more better than shock wave at six flags over Texas. I find myself visiting this establishment multiple times a year because my boys love roller coasters, and I'll admit--I enjoy the thrill myself. We all have season passes and have been loyal pass holders for years. Overall, I have both good and bad things to say about the park. Now, let me be clear--the best ride here is Twisted Cyclone. Hands down. But I had an extremely alarming experience in December 2024 with an employee that left me completely shaken. I was about to board the coaster when a ride attendant looked me dead in the eyes and said, "You better hold on because the restraints came up for the people before you." I immediately panicked. I mean... my precious children were getting on this ride. And she said this as we were getting buckled in, so there was no turning back. At first, I thought, surely this must be a joke (which would already be wildly inappropriate), but as she walked away, she casually added, "I'm serious." Excuse me... WHAT??? We were stunned. We didn't know whether to laugh or scream. We called her back over and asked if she was joking, and she simply said, "No." The ride started after that. I spent the entire ride holding on for dear life, absolutely convinced something was going to go wrong. Thankfully, nothing did--but let me tell you, that comment stuck with me. I left that day questioning whether it was a sick joke or a serious safety concern, but either way, it was completely unacceptable and left a horrible taste in my mouth. About a month later, I returned, because again, I'm a regular here and she was working that same ride. I asked her point blank, "Were you serious last month about what you said?" and she looked at me and said, "Yeah, but it happened a while ago haha." Seriously? The lack of professionalism was astounding. We ended up riding it twice that day, and during the second ride, as she was checking our restraints, she goes, "By the way, I was joking," and then gave me the nastiest little smirk I have ever seen. Like... what is wrong with people? As I mentioned, I come here a lot and typically have a great time. But ever since that incident, I can't help but feel a pit in my stomach every time I get on Twisted Cyclone. I'm headed back today and sincerely hoping it's what the staff like to call a "Six Flags Day." Because frankly, after that experience, I'm not sure how many more "jokes" like that I can tolerate. read more

I don't know why this park is rated so low. My personal experience as a first-timer was amazing and well worth the price. Tickets were only $40 that day which is amazing considering other parks can range up to $100. Lines literally didn't exist, except for the Superman ride, and the park looked well-maintained. It has been awhile but the amusements that I left years ago was there to greet me at Six Flags over Georgia. If you're into coasters (I'm not) then you'll be in heaven but... even if hurling your $15 corn dog and $10 Coke into an upside down errant g-force is not your thing, there are more than enough attractions to keep you entertained. To be honest, the park looks and feels old and makes me appreciate Disney and Universal that much more. All these parks now require a second mortgage but if I have to pawn my watch for admission, I'd rather invest in a better experience at the Florida attractions. It will be interesting to see how the proposed merger between Six Flags and Cedar Point announced last week will improve these aging fun factories. Time will tell. Bigger ain't necessarily better. Now that our three kids are older, and taller!, we decided to take advantage of the Cyber Monday sales and try annual passes again for 2024. I believe we had passes 2016-2019 but it pushing toddlers in a doubleBOB through the hills of SixFlags isn't for the weak. Anywho... We decided to pop into the park 12/9 to enjoy the holiday festivities and ride some rides. Our oldest turns 15 and can ride all the coasters. Our younger two are 9 & 8, the youngest LOVES coasters but only hit 48" early this year. The forecast wasnt great so we figured we'd do what we could until the weather wasn't enjoyable. We were pleasantly surprised the weather must have kept most away. All the lines were incredibly short! We rode Twisted Cyclone, Delonagha Mine Train and all three girls rode the Wonder Woman ride then the 15yo and 8yo rode Dare Devil together. We took a break for some snacks as we bought the discounted meal plan during the Cyber Monday sale. The girls split two orders of garlic knots, which were a mixture of overly reheated and soft. The portion of garlic knots cost $8.99 but counted towards a snack credit. We were able to use a lunch credits for dip n dots which was nice. My oldest and I rode Batman together; it was as fun as I remembered. We were able to ride Catwoman's Whip, a new ride for us - really fun! We all rode The Riddler together, my younger two's first time. Although the park advertised they would be open until 8:00, we were surprised when all the dining establishments started closing at 7:00. Instead of getting dinner we got pretzels with our dinner credits. Another "con" for me is how some areas are completely neglected. The floor in DeeJay's Diner has floor tiles chipped throughout the dining and ordering areas, and many tiles in the ordering line were popped up. It seems like a potential hazard to have these loose. We're looking forward to making great family memories here over the next year! read more

Rides were fun and it was not busy even though they are only open on weekends in October. That's where the good ends. The drawback was the employees. There were a few standouts that were excited about their jobs and had a sense of humor while we waited in line. Most employees had zero personality and were just going through the motions. It seemed like they hired people to serve their community service or a mandatory welfare to work program. Quite the contrast from Universal which we went to a few weeks later. Had a blast at Six Flag's Fright Fest last night. From the entertainment stages to the fright fest characters. Lots of jump scares were had ! They checked ID at the gate and all teens under 16 had to have a chaperone. Security in full force. Definitely felt much safer! Six Flags gets A+ read more

This park is so clean. We enjoyed the rides very much. The cons of the park are: there is a $25 fee for parking, it's $19.99 extra to get into the water park. The water park closes at 6 which we had not idea until we got there at 6:10 to finish our day. We did not want to be wet all day so we planned on going to the water park after we had ridden all the super cool rides. We were very disappointed that we missed out on the water park but we will read the hours next time. lol read more

If I weren't a member I probably wouldn't come as much as I do. Even with membership $$ does add up each visit. Parking is free with membership but the distance from parking to front gate is ridiculous. The trolley can only hold so much and does not run regularly.. We pay an extra $25 to park closer, as of this summer. We do prefer the Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags to White Waters. We don't ride any roller coasters. I'm a chicken. My kids are still mostly young so they only ride what they can. Most of the time the rides aren't in operation. I've noticed that's been a regular thing at this Six Flags. THOUGH, we do really enjoy Hurricane Harbor specifically if you rent one of their cabanas. They don't have any pictures of them so that's mainly why I'm writing this review. I looked all over for pictures so I can see what I was booking. Loved the service we received and whole experience. As of this summer cabanas are ranging from $150-$300 and now I cannot not rent one if visiting Hurricane Harbor. I do dread the walk all the way to the harbor though.. LOL read more

All of the rides were fantastic and very fun. HOWEVER, most of the employees were VERY rude. Once we were leaving a lady on the trolley was incredibly rude about my entire group getting on the trolley, had a very nasty attitude the entire time towards us. The best part of our visit was the show Surfin' USA. Lots of talent. Trying to find showtimes was crazy because while it was the best show it was not showcased and there were no showtimes listed outside the theater. Over Georgia let's just say that my visit here was nothing short of totally awesome! This park gets a bad rep and I dunno why as it's totally stacked with good rides a fun layout and has just about something for everyone as I've been here a few times now and I will say it rank's up near the top when it comes to Six Flags Parks as I've been to all of them so I definitely know! As for the rides and coasters there are plenty of them for all ages as well as the thrill seekers by me saying this I'm totally talking about Goliath which is in my top 3 favorite roller coasters I've ridden out of 415 different ones as the layout is elite as well as the whole ride experience where your never in your seat! Their food is about average with the rest of the Six Flags parks where it's not the best but not the worst it's what you make of it. Their associates here have been nothing but awesome every visit I've had here friendly and quick to help with whatever you might need help with! Their Fright Fest this year was nothing short of a good time too as the mazes were on point and the scares were there along with the theming and decor which makes me excited to come back again soon for Holiday In The Park where you really can't go wrong with as every one of their parks always does an amazing job with this one! Six Flags Great Adventure is my home park which I don't really enjoy so I had to try this other Six Flags park. This place was pleasant surprise! The staff was actually friendly. They have a good selection of rides and food. The park is a good size. The Monster Mansion was Disney-quality, not Six Flags quality. Although I nearly had a panic attack as they did not properly weigh out people (or whatever you wanna call it) and literally our boat was tipping sideways and they let us go in the attraction like that. I was terrified. I came here on probably the hottest day of Georgia so far this year. I think the heat index was 110-115. All the rides were walk ons which was amazing! However, there was 2 major disappointments... 1) the Rapids ride was closed and if there was a day it needed to be opened, today was that day. 2) A much bigger problem.. ALL water fountains were not working. I don't know if this was covid related or because they just wanted to make more money with people buying drinks but regardless of the issue.... they should have been opened. On an extreme hot day like that, they absolutely should not have been closed under any circumstances. I wish I could give this place 3.5 stars cause while they had some wonderful aspects, they had some real problems which I listed above. I will keep my review as a 3 as I cannot get the water fountains being closed. read more
