"WOW" Where do I start with these guys! Steve is one of the best motorcycle mechanics that you will find. He is an absolute gentleman to deal with. He does incredible work and at an extremely reasonable rate. I own quite a few classic road bikes so I am extremely particular as to who works on my Bultaco Sherpa Trials bike. Steve repaired my 500 EXC after the head gasket blew, the head warped, an exhaust valve burned and the cylinder dug into the nikasil. He is super busy and tends to quote rather optimistic job times, but it is absolutely worth being patient. His skill set is amazing, he lives and breathes major engine work like I've never seen, daunting problems are nothing to him, and his prices are more than reasonable. read more

After a slew of less than satisfactory experiences with traditional dealer service centers, I was referred to Steve at Six Five O Racing and couldn't be happier. Steve runs a top-notch shop; you can tell he cares about his customers and gets the job done right. He's reasonably priced, is a straight shooter, and does excellent work. As good as it gets indeed. I was stupid enough to ding the front disc rotor on my Yamaha dirt bike due to a stuck axle (tire change) so immediately called several motorcycle shops, some of which I'd been to in the past and got pretty much the same type of answers---yeah you have to replace the rotor, there's no other choice....we can order one for you...oh wait, it's back ordered....the range of prices was startling----one was as cheap as online OEM parts (several sources---again, a 10% swing in range, plus widely variable shipping, etc.,etc.---3-5 business days..everyone knows the drill, another was double the price. Then I get a rec from a remarkably generous shop boss. He said---I can't do anything better for you, but why don't you call Six Five O Racing....Long story short, Steve answers the phone at six five O and is so full of helpful tips and obvious experience/expertise as well as willingness to help that I knew right then I'd found my second go-to shop in the Bay Area after years of---as others have already echoed---less than satisfying experiences (in the best of cases) There is a fantastic motor/machinist in San Fran for my vintage bike needs that can wait who I've been using (I've heard Steve is pretty busy) but for everything else, I'm bringing my bikes here. Steve doesn't advertise, so these "word of mouth" recommendations are important to his business. Keep the yelps coming in other words---we need to keep these rare kinds of guys going! read more
