Leena, the hygienist, is outstanding! She is so nice and explains everything so well, answers all of your questions and is just overall a joy to have a cleaning done by. Did I mention that they will give you medicine to relax so you can have the cleaning/work done? YES, they do that! You'll need someone you know (not Uber or Lyft) to come pick you up, but who cares! I left there feeling like a million bucks after a deep tissue cleaning! They have all of the latest and great technology and aren't too pushy when it comes to getting work done and it's not covered by insurance. They are more than willing to work with you and get you the care that you need. Shannon and Bridgette are both awesome as well. They treat you like a real person, and not just another patient writing a check. Dr. Bukumira is one of the nicest people on the planet, is great at understanding your needs and wants when it comes to your smile, and again, an overall joy to work with! I think I've been going to outdated dentists. As a "techie" in "product" it was impressive to me to see such up to date equipment and utensils as well as knowledge. In my humble opinion, you can judge an establishment by the attitudes and state of the "workers". The receptionist down to the nurse down to the specialist who fixed my gum issues, I was treated with respect, even laughed a lot, was TRANSPARENTLY and empathically provided with clear understandings of my final bill and what would be covered or not covered, what my options are and they made some deals and saved me money and upgraded me for free on some other things. If you are looking for a family practice that isn't pretentious, is solid in knowledge and current on everything, go here. I am beyond disturbed by our experience with this dentist, and I would never recommend…read morehim--especially for children. This dentist lied directly to my 10-year-old child's face. He repeatedly denied that she would be receiving a shot, even while holding the needle in his hand. He told her she was getting a "seal," when in reality the procedure was a filling. It wasn't until I confronted him with the written list of procedures that he finally admitted what was actually being done. Because he lies to children, he also lies to parents. By intentionally misrepresenting procedures, this dentist does not obtain informed consent. Neither my child nor I was given truthful explanations about what was being performed, which is both unethical and unacceptable in healthcare, especially pediatric care. While my child was in the bathroom, he told me--casually and unapologetically--that he lies to children on purpose because he believes it helps with dental anxiety. That is not anxiety management; it is deception and a violation of trust between provider, patient, and parent. During the procedure, when my child was clearly in pain, he shamed her instead of supporting her, making dismissive comments such as: "It's not that bad." "You did better last time." "It was not that hard." This behavior is completely inappropriate toward a child and demonstrates a profound lack of empathy and professionalism. As if that weren't enough, he also attempted to overbill a CPT code totaling $285 for a procedure that was never performed. When I questioned it, the charge was immediately removed--raising serious concerns about billing integrity. This experience was traumatizing for my child and deeply alarming as a parent. Pediatric patients deserve honesty, compassion, and informed consent--not lies, minimization of pain, and questionable billing practices. This dentist failed on every level. Avoid this office. Your child's trust, safety, and your right to informed consent are not respected here.
