In summary:
Dr. Ali Taghipour is more than a dentist--he is a rare combination of skill, honesty, and compassion. He notices what others miss, saves teeth others would discard, handles emergencies with care, and always puts patients first. I trust him completely and cannot recommend him enough.
Why I picked Dr. Ali, and why I think you should to:
Out of all the highly rated dentists I had seen, only Dr. Ali noticed a rubber seal mistakenly left under a crown years ago, something even I hadn't noticed. It blended perfectly with my gums and was tucked in the back of my mouth. That attention to detail immediately convinced me he was my guy.
My difficult case, and what Dr. Ali has done for me:
I came to him with missing teeth, crowns, root canals, and fillings on nearly every tooth. I always avoided the dentist until I couldn't, hence my situation. These are some of the difficult situations Dr. Ali has handled for me.
Wobbling tooth:
During a routine cleaning, he noticed one of my molars was severely wobbling due to gum disease. He was honest about the low chances of saving it, but threw everything at it: antibiotics, gum surgery, and more. The tooth stabilized, saving me from another implant.
Fixing work by previous dentist:
I had a crown done by a highly reviewed dentist in a fancy office, but it kept popping out. I'll admit, their crown was beautifully printed, yet the problem kept recurring. Once I switched to Dr. Ali, the issue never happened again.
Snapped & Cracked Tooth at gum line:
One of my root-canaled teeth had snapped horizontally at the gum line. Previous dentists would have extracted it immediately, claiming it was too compromised to restore. Dr. Ali proposed a cast post, a custom-printed post cemented into the canal. I had never heard of this solution before, despite many root canals and extractions. Thanks to this, the tooth survived a situation that seemed hopeless.
Implants and surgeries:
He has also placed multiple implants that are stable, perfectly aligned, and fully functional. He performed an apicoectomy on a failed root canal, preserving my original tooth in a procedure usually done only by endodontists. His expertise makes him a true one-stop shop.
Emergencies on the weekend:
Emergencies are another area where he shines. I've had issues while traveling or on weekends. Dr. Ali always answered despite him being with his family on his day off (I could hear children in the background). He took as long as required to calm me, and to guide me through temporary solutions. He accommodated multiple emergency visits outside normal hours, sometimes as late as 7:30 pm. Even when he's with his own family, he makes patients a priority.
Saved me from an incompetent surgeon:
Dr. Ali also saved me from incompetent surgeons. I sought a lateral sinus lift for an implant and found a highly rated oral surgeon on my own. I could not have been more wrong. The surgeon misdiagnosed a post in my root-canaled tooth as a cavity / void, recommended extraction, and insisted I get braces and other expensive procedures first. Their second opinion confirmed the same. I was terrified.
In hindsight, having seen many dental X-rays, I could immediately see theirs were blurry and they themselves missed an important factor preventing surgery. Dr. Ali spent an hour on a weekend calmly explaining what had been said, which procedures were necessary, which were merely nice add-ons, and which concerns were unnecessarily dramatized. He reminded me of past discussions regarding those concerns and reassured me completely.
I later went for a third opinion with a Harvard-trained periodontist, who confirmed Dr. Ali's assessment. Oral surgeons may not always be fully aware of general or specialized dentistry, but a dental post is essential in every root canal. I would think that an oral surgeon who deals in complicated cases, where there'd definitely be root canals, should recognize a dental post. Especially when it sticks out like a sore thumb on an X-ray. Thanks to Dr. Ali, I avoided unnecessary procedures and dodged a major bullet. read more
