I have taken my small dog to Elite Petite for years, they used to be a great business and would do…read morea wonderful job on my pet. I noticed recently there have been different people working than usual.Three or so visits ago I showed up early to pick up my dog and they had two restraints on her and a muzzle (she weighs 3 pounds). I had always wondered why my dog would act sick after grooming and now I knew it was from stress. If I had not shown up early they would have never told me how my dog acts because apparently she acts that way every visit. She was all choppy and I had to come back the next day to get her evened up. I went to the vet and received a sedation pill for my dog for her future visits. The next visit she was choppy and uneven but they told me "she did much better" and that they were raising their rate $5. Now to the present, about a month or two later. I was working so my husband gave my dog her sedative and took her to groomer, and prepaid. He came back when they called for him to pick her up. The lady told him that she is raising our rate to $40! She also accused him of lying about the sedative, quizzing him about the name and where he got it from. She told him we would have to schedule our appointments closer to closing time because it is an inconvenience to the other customers because THEY take longer to groom my dog. On top of that, she looks ridiculous! Her head looks cute and it stops there. They shave spots on her chest because of mats in her fur. I am not going to claim that my dog is perfectly groomed and had no mats but would it not make more sense to shave the whole chest and not leave the other parts of her chest an inch long? Her legs were hardly cut and were longer than the rest of her body. Literally most of her body is cut to about half an inch or less, except for the 3-4 patches of 2 inch long fur. If my dog was so stressed out that they couldn't even do a proper job of grooming her then they should have called me and we would have picked her up! I would have understood, but instead they chewed my husband out and sent home my half finished dog. I am so disappointed! If they had told me they were having trouble again I would have talked to my vet about other sedative options. If you go to Elite Petite do not prepay and if your dog acts funny afterward make sure to look into it because they will not tell you your dog acts up/ is stressed during the visit!
