I have really mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand Vicki seems really helpful. But the mattress I originally picked out had such a toxic odor to it, plus it was sagging in the middle from day-one that I couldn't stand it and had to return it. Was a real pain to get them to take it back. of course the "inspector" said it was within their limits.. give me a break, a brand new mattress should not sag at all! I think the majority of my complaint is with the mattress industry themselves, but Sit-n Sleep should have a better return policy. They have a 20% restocking fee if you return a mattress. Which they said they would "waive", but then turned around and charged me full price for the second mattress (no discount at all, just the tag price!) , so they really got the restocking fee that way. Wish I had just gone someplace else. read more

If you are looking for an organic mattress, completely free of polyurethane, you will not find it here. I had a decent experience with Sit N Sleep - nice, helpful staff and low pressure sales. However, I came in explicitly looking for a bed free of polyurethane, and then the salesmen sold me a bed that I found out upon delivery has polyurethane in the lining. Evidently, almost EVERY bed these days has some polyurethane in the lining and also all beds are sprayed with fire retardant chemicals. If this is ok with you (and most people don't mind), then you can find a nice bed at Sit N Sleep. However, if you want an organic mattress free of chemicals, try checking out The Green Cradle in Culver City (which is expensive but amazing), PJ's Sleep Company (organic beds are on back order but all prices are set so there is no hassle negotiations!) or do as I did and make the long drive to The Natural Mattress Store in San Fran and buy yourself an amazing bed. Thankfully, Sit N Sleep let me return the bed on the day of delivery for a full refund. However, I really wish they would have let me know about the polyurethane sooner. We had a great experience at Sit N Sleep and were lucky to have been helped and taken care of by Jason. We went in looking for a latex or tempurpedic king bed and ended up with a latex bed that we really disliked after almost 2 months of use. It felt great in the store but really felt different at home. Usually I hate trying to return things, especially something as expensive as a bed since its always a hassle, but Jason made it easy for us to do. We went in this past weekend and found a bed that we think is much more suited to our needs and are very happy with our choice and Jason's service. We had a Sit 'n Sleep Spring Air mattress for 10 years, which we loved. Then we heard the commercials where Larry said after 8 years we should replace our mattress because it probably had dust & stuff we didn't want in it. We looked for another Spring Air, but they no longer sold them. We went to a major department store & bought a mattress which we thought we would have for another 10 years. Sadly, before a year was up, it developed deep valleys, so we returned it & they replaced it with an upgrade. Less than a year later, the same thing happened. This time, we took our money and ran, since insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. So, we went back to Sit 'n Sleep and spent an enjoyable afternoon with Keith Palafox, who had the patience of a saint. We must have tried every bed in the showroom before deciding on one, with Keith's advice and the results of the computer analysis. BUT, we weren't positive yet, so we shopped some more. The next day we went back & sealed the deal. The new mattress was delivered the very next day, at the time they said they would arrive, and all was well. After our first night's sleep, I awoke with NO back pain for the first time in at least two years. After a week, there is still no pain. I am sleeping longer and better, and so is my spouse. We hope to keep this bed forever; but, if we ever need a new one, I hope Keith will be there to sell it to us. read more

We had a surprisingly good experience here. Vicki was very respectful of our budget, and was wonderfully no-nonsense. Once we heard that delivery was free, we also decided to get a frame, which also included assembly. So, bonus points for saving us a trip to ikea (and the nightmarish assembly debacle that would have followed). The mattress and frame were delivered first thing the following morning. I will say that the guys who delivered it were not particularly pleasant, but they were fast and did a good job. Overall I highly recommend. read more

After having debated purchasing an adjustable bed for years, I finally got to Sit 'n' Sleep this afternoon. I was immediately greeted by William Saiki who told me we were going to "have fun" selecting a new base and mattress that would be perfect for me. I'm somewhat cynical about salesmanship, so I smiled inwardly and we proceeded to the testing equipment. William then asked a few questions and directed me to the first three choices recommended based on the testing and his knowledge of the product. While he is definitely a salesman, he was never pushy and offered to show me additional bases or mattresses. However, I was able to make my choice from the first three and appreciated the offers of accessories (linens, delivery, set-up, removal, etc.). It took a while to write up my purchases, but when I left the store, I was able to smile outwardly as well. "Fun?" Maybe not quite by my definition, but certainly a pleasant experience. I was surprised when I was told my purchases could be delivered in two days, so if the combination I ordered arrives and there are no glitches in the delivery, I expect to be fully satisfied with my purchase experience. As for William, he was attentive, professional, and gave a little extra by requesting a delivery time and calling me to let me know it had been approved. We went in and were fortunate enough to have Vicki Rogers help us. She was amazing. I dread certain sales people, because of their sleazy sales "lines". Vicky was not like that at all! Went in to shop for a mattress for the new apartment after a move. Justin was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and informative. I made my decision quickly, he helped me save some more shopping time by setting me up with a mattress guard and sheet set, and set up delivery for Saturday. Delivery came Saturday(today) and Gilbert the deliveryman called and told me he'd be by at around 10:30 if that was ok.(My delivery appointment was for between 12pm and 4pm). He and Juan showed up exactly when he said(Earlier than scheduled, and that worked out perfectly for me!) were very careful with the mattress, and very careful getting the cal king up my twisty stairs and into my bedframe. This is my first Yelp review. My experience was so enjoyable at the Pasadena Sit N Sleep, that I decided to join Yelp just to give them my praise. This was my first time buying a mattress, so I was already nervous about the situation (especially going alone!). But as soon as I walked in, one of the friendly Sleep Consultants, Jennifer Cho, immediately greeted me and walked me through the entire process. She took me to their sleep diagnostic machine, which apparently determines what kind of mattress is best for you. She asked me what my budget was, and proceeded to take to several mattresses that matched my budget and mattress type. She had me go back forth between mattresses, giving me ample time to lay on each. Once we decided on my favorite mattress, she left me to take a brief "nap." The buying process was super easy! She offered several options (with no pressure up-selling!), and through in a few extras (mattress cover, etc.) Delivery was a breeze...The mattress was delivered within three days of ordering. They called the night before to give a four-hour time frame when they'd be there, and then the day-of, they called an hour before they arrived. How considerate! Best mattress shopping experience I've ever had. Shout out to Jennifer Cho for being so patient and knowledgeable on the different price points and mattresses available. And believe me, there are A LOT of mattress choices at this location. She wasn't at all pushy like many sales people I have experienced AND she knows her s***. After over 2 hours of contemplating between all the different mattresses, we finally got a great queen mattress with a adjustable bed frame for a fraction of the price we would have paid anywhere else. I never got the feeling like we were overpaying for what we got, which is honestly such a comforting feeling especially when investing in something as expensive as a mattress. Felt great not having to go to another mattress store and redoing the entire process. Jennifer's personality is honestly a bonus. I would definitely refer all my friends to her and this location. The shipping estimate is only about 2 days if you live near which was nice and our Sealy mattress came with a 10 year warranty. Oh and the shipping is free! Parking: the first 90 mins is free so DO NOT buy a parking permit until the 90 mins is up. Journey success! Our search for the perfect bed finally has ended with our complete satisfaction! For quite some time my husband and I have wanted a new bed that fit both of our different needs. although we didn't buy from here it wasn't as sleazy as i figured from the adverts. located in the old tower records store this location has a very large selection and knowledgeable staff. when we told them the prices from ortho (right down the street on colorado) they easily matched them. we just didn't find the comfort in their selections (which will vary from person to person), but i wouldn't have had a problem buying from them if they had what we liked. read more

I was in a situation which MattressFirm in Alhambra dropped the ball and try to give me another mattress instead of the one I ordered .. more of bait and switch... So I headed to Sit'nSleep late in the evening just hoping I can get something quick. But the experience was much more than that. Not only they solved my issue but made sure my buying experience and the choice I was making is a solid one. Ken was the sales person and he was very knowledgeable.The advice he offered was very solid. It is not cheap to buy mattress and takes effort to do it. I felt like he made sure the buying experience and decision is made based on investment on the time and effort and not just price. I am very happy with the purchase. The delivery was also very smooth. They email/call you to confirm the time on the night before. You will get another call right about 30min before they arrive. They check the path to your bedroom, set it up,take the box/wrapping, show you the function, take your old bed and off they went. It was less than 15min and I had a new bed.
