I can't say enough nice things about our experience this week with Keith and sit n sleep. Of course I wanted to wait to make a review until after we received our mattress which was yesterday. We went into the store on Wednesday and Keith couldn't have been more helpful. He's a great salesman without making you feel like you're being sold to. We felt very comfortable with him and feel we left with getting a great deal. The delivery came on time yesterday, the drivers were courteous and quick, and after sleeping on the new mattress and pillows last night I can honestly say we're 100% satisfied. My wife and I were tired of my 11 year old mattress. We got our 18 month old son in the car and went to the Long Beach Sit 'n Sleep on Saturday where we were greeted by Sabrina. She listened to our wants and lamentations of our current mattress and showed us a number of different makers and different mattresses of those makers. Sabrina did not pressure us in a purchase, she was very friendly and our son loved her. He even shared his snack puffs with her! Being a mother herself, she easily took to him and we felt comfortable in letting her keep an eye on him as we tried different mattresses and discuss them without any real interruptions. We had an absolutely WONDERFUL experience purchasing our new bed! We walked in on a Saturday evening and comfortably strolled throughout the entire showroom looking at and trying out a wide variety of mattresses. The sales associate/store manager, Russell, was very informative, professional, and pleasant as he offered valuable suggestions when it came to selecting our mattress. We came to this store in full "emergency mode". Here's what happened--- We purchased a very pricey $2,700.00 Tempurpedic queen mattress from their direct competitor, Orange County Mattress in Naples ( Long Beach) back in July 2012. In January 2016, we discovered the bottom-side of mattress had become a large "petri dish" which had been growing black, yellow and green mold ( see pictures attached). We were literally freaked out to realize we had been sleeping on top of this dangerous and toxic mold for God knows how long. We are total clean freaks. We called OC Mattress in Naples and spoke to their manager, Phil, who did NOTHING except tell us we had to file a claim for this problem with Temur-pedic directly, which we had already done. We also asked him what he would do in this exact situation and he responded.." I would keep sleeping on the mattress until you got replacement" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We knew we needed to purchase a new mattress immediately and since we were getting zero help or cooperation from Orange County Mattress in Naples, we immediately went over to Sit N Sleep in Long Beach. We were greeted by Keith Palafox. Upon explaining our situation and experience with how OC Mattress was handling our manufacturers claim still under warranty, Keith advised us they would have immediately given us a new replacement mattress, no and if's or butts. I have been Yelping for a long time, but I sincerely hope that my fellow Yelpers reading this review will seriously consider NEVER doing business with Orange County Mattress. They do not stand behind their product warranties DIRECTLY but will waste no time shuffling you off to the manufacturer and taking zero customer service responsibility to replace the mattress while you remain without a bed-- Here is what you must think about when considering what chain to purchase your mattress from: 1. Orange County Mattress Experience-- You have a problem and/or very serious problem like we had with our mattress, file a manufacture's claim, wait 3-5 days for a response, then if they approve your claim wait another 7-14 days for a replacement mattress. Deal with management that is not empowered to make any significant decisions to help solve your service product complaint. OR ------ 2. Sit N Sleep Experience--- Purchase a mattress, have a problem with the manufacturers warranty and get immediate help and replacement satisfaction. Joe has the best service!!!! He is welcoming from start to finish! We came in just looking around, literally not intending to buy a mattress. He was so genuine and helpful from the moment we walked in. We ended up laying around on a couple different mattresses and he was kindly informed us on differences and benefits about the different styles even after we already said we wouldn't be buying one. My husband actually needed up really loving the tempur pedic cooling pillow on top and we ended up getting him a new $160 pillow! Went in to just try out some adjustable beds...left two hours later as the new owner of a split king Aireloome adjustable bed owner. Sabrina was incredible. She greeted us warmly at the door and kept her focus on our needs the entire time. My husband went in very skeptical about an adjustable frame bed...but he drank the koolaide about 45 minutes later. We not only purchased quality mattresses, but we caught the July 4th / Grand Opening sales, so the prices were great. Jordan Ngo was our sales rep and he was extremely knowledgeable about the various mattress brands, coil count, and mattress quality. He asked us questions to determine the best mattress for each of us. Then, we tried out a variety of mattresses and pillows before we made our decision. I ended up purchasing a latex pillow top mattress and my mom purchased a firmer luxury latex mattress. We had gone to a few other places prior to coming to Sit 'n Sleep Long Beach, but nobody was as knowledgeable as Jordan Ngo. Additionally, he was friendly and very personable. My husband and I needed a king-sized bed for our new place, so we went here since it is very close to our place. Christopher helped us pick out our bed and accessories without pressuring us to get something we didn't want. He stayed within our budget too and we got something we really liked. They were all friendly staff working there. Since our bed was in stock, it was able to be delivered the next day. I told Chris we wanted it as early as possible. We got a call during the beginning of the 4-hour window notifying it would arrive within an hour. The delivery people came and were quick and put everything together the way we needed. I'm not normally one to write a review but our expectations were far beyond exceeded at this Sit and Sleep location. The assistant store manager, Keith, helped my wife and I find our new mattress. This was an unexpected purchase for us at this time, however, we were able to tell Keith both our preference in mattress style as well as price range and he was able to show us several items that met both factors without hesitation or pressuring us to go for something more expensive. To be honest this wasn't the first mattress store we went to- at our first stop the only store employee was asleep at the front of the store and after waking up he had no idea about any products in his store - the complete opposite of our experience with Keith at the Sit and Sleep. From purchase to delivery we were very satisfied with the managerial service. Joe, the store manager, cleared up a miscommunication with the delivery staff without hesitation on the day of delivery and made the entire process stress free. Went into Sit 'n Sleep having never shopped for my own mattress before. I was very impressed with their My Bed machine that calculated what bed was best for my wife and my needs. Joe helped us out, and the very first bed he showed us ended up being the one. He was extremely knowledgeable about anything to do with sleep and different mattresses. I felt like I was in good hands. He also gave my wife and I plenty of time and space to really feel out each mattress. Joe was great and I highly recommend asking for him when you visit the store! Today our mattress got delivered. I was a bit disappointed to get the original phone call that our delivery window was between 545-845pm. However, I got a phone call today around 2 o'clock that they were able to deliver early if I was available. I got my entire set up done around 2:30pm - at least 3 hours earlier than expected. That was very impressive. The delivery guys were great too. We had Javier and Milton from truck 27. They came in and were very thorough to make sure our bed frame would fit the mattress before beginning the installation. They were very careful around my house, and I really appreciated them answering any questions I had. They were very friendly and did a wonderful job. Bob Cooper has a 6th sense when it comes to mattresses. My boyfriend and I originally wanted a memory foam mattress, but Bob took one look at us and pointed us in a way better direction with one of the Sealy Pillowtop mattresses. Keith followed up with us a few days later when we actually came back to buy the mattress and scheduled a delivery date for us. After we left we got a phone call from Keith saying the box springs were out of stock which would delay delivery so he upgraded us for free to the posturpedic box spring so they could honor the original delivery date. So SitNSleep delivers "our CalKing" 3weeks of severe back aches, complaining its too soft " this isnt what we chose at all " they send tech guys out to measure the settling sag height allowance. blah blah blah long story short, we threatened to go to consumer news channels SO they exchanged the bed. I went in to buy a new mattress with my girlfriend. Kyle met us as soon as we walked in and despite the fact that the store was busy, he gave us personal attention. He was so knowledgeable about sleep and mattresses and gave us this sleep test on a machine that measures the type of mattress you need. Luckily my girlfriend and I matched so Kyle showed us all the mattresses that would work for us. He also gave us plenty of time and space to make a decision and definitely didn't push us towards the most expensive products.
