This was my first time ever getting lash extensions, and unfortunately the experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. From the moment I sat down, the lash tech, Bellamia, was openly annoyed that I was new and had questions. She did not want to explain anything and made me feel uncomfortable for asking. It was an unpleasant experience, but I genuinely wanted to start lashes as a regular routine. The salon is close to my home, and while a friendly, knowledgeable tech would have been ideal, convenience mattered to me. Because of that, I decided to move forward anyway, signed up for the monthly plan, and allowed her to apply the lashes. Initially, they didn't look terrible, but they were far more curled than what I asked for. I wanted a straighter, more natural look. However, when questions aren't welcomed and you feel like asking one more might earn you another dirty look and sigh, you end up accepting whatever you're given. The real problem started after I left. By day four, approximately 80% of the lashes had fallen out. I spoke with friends, family, and even clients of my own who regularly get lashes, and all confirmed that this level of fallout that quickly is not normal. On day five, I called the salon and was told someone would call me back to discuss the issue. No one ever did!!! By day nine, when at least 92% of the lashes were gone, I texted the number that sends appointment reminders. They responded quickly to say that lash loss can be normal and asked me to send pictures. I sent the photos immediately -- and then received zero response!!! Interestingly, when my next appointment date approached, they had no problem texting me reminders and warning me that I would be charged. I asked why no one had responded to the photos, and Michele replied saying, "I told your tech to take a couple extra minutes at the next appt." I was honestly shocked. I spent over $300 on my very first visit, which included the monthly subscription fee, and walked away with complete dissatisfaction. The only solution offered was that the tech might give me a few extra minutes at a future appointment -- despite the fact that the service clearly failed?? I asked to speak with the owner, only to find out that Michele is the franchise owner. I intentionally did not leave a review at first because I wanted to be fair. I truly considered the possibility that maybe lash extensions just didn't work for me. To be sure, I went to another salon. The lashes I received there are absolutely gorgeous, and I am now on day seven with no fallout at all. That confirmed this was not a "me" issue. I genuinely tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but the final takeaway is this: a franchise owner with zero customer service skills and no apparent concern for customer satisfaction is simply unacceptable

I would give this Zero stars. Having never tried eyebrow waxing at the Benefit brow bar before, I…read morewent to the front counter to check in. It was a busy Saturday. I was directed to the location where the person working there told me she was not going to honor my appointment, as "taking me now would back up the whole day." It was not even 5 minutes past my appointment time. I was not late, just waited needlessly in the check out line. The worker told me to leave! Outrageous and highly unprofessional. I will not be giving Benefit or that store any of my money ever. Be warned, this is not a suitable alternative to a traditional salon. Service is nonexistent.

I've been to 3 Benefit brow bars at Ulta (Ross park, Settlers Ridge, and now South Hills Village)…read more I love how at all locations they draw your brows out before they start so you can approve the shape, I just recently moved near South Hills Village so I figured I'd give this location a shot. The girl that did my brows drew them out then started to wax. I noticed the wax was a little hotter than I'm used to, but it wasnt to the point that it was painful so I didn't say anything. When she was done she put some kind of oil and aloe gel all over, then put make up all over the area she waxed. I gently cleaned it all off before bed then the next morning I woke up with red blotches all over the waxed area. I'd been waxed with the same wax type at the other locations before so it couldn't have been a reaction to the wax. She either had the wax too hot and burnt me, or the pound of makeup on the waxed area caused a reaction. It took over a week for it to clear up and it was impossible to cover. Really upset and will not even walk foot in this location again.
