Crispy Spring Rolls Crispy Wontons
Maria Gracias H.

Been coming to this place for years and it has never disappointed. On our most recent visit, we decided to step out of the box and try their lunch specials. The portions were definitely smaller than the regular dishes, but the flavor was still solid. And for $14, I'd happily go for a pad thai and crispy wonton combo over some typical Chinese takeout :)

Scallion Fried Chive Dumplings

Been here twice in the past their menu is always consistently good. The space is decorated like a mini garden with a book shelf and they have menus shaped as newspapers with weekly local news, it's so cute. Our servers were really nice and offered water around the clock while we ate, for the appetizer, they recommended the chive dumplings somewhat like a scallion pancake. It was really good. I thought my usual of the shrimp pad Thai and they also have a container of sauces such as vinegar and hot sauce to put with your meal. it definitely gives it a kick if you're new to Thai food are looking to have something seasoned this restaurant is a good pic .

The moment I walked in, I was struck by the beautiful decor, a perfect mix of modern elegance and Thai-inspired charm. The food was delicious, we tried the hoi-jor, curry puff, green curry shrimp and Drunken Noodles. All were flavorful, fresh, and perfectly spiced. The drink selection was overwhelming (in a good way!) but delicious. I tried a couple and just had to finish with my go-to traditional Thai tea. Be sure to save room for dessert too, they offer some great options to round out the meal. The service was excellent--friendly and attentive, with great recommendations.

Came for the hype and left disappointed. Sisters Thai in old town Fairfax is an unassuming hole-in-the-wall with a cute setup, cute newspaper style menus, and friendly staff. I really enjoyed the decor, though it was uncomfortable to sit too high or too low (mismatched chairs and tables). The service was rather quick. The food looks appetizing, but the portions (as pictured) were quite small for one ended up being $18-20/plate. The wonton soup was an appetizer and definitely had MSG :/ Felt like crap for the rest of the day. I had really high hopes for Sisters Thai because there's a Tysons location near me, but I think I might only return for the desserts and get my Thai fix elsewhere.

I enjoyed the Thai iced tea and food very much! It's also beautifully decorated with books and paintings. The service was great, and the server was very kind. I'm excited to come back!

Me and a friend got dinner on Friday night and it was pretty packed! There aren't many tables inside and some of them are really close together. The table next to me was probably about 1 foot away. Other than that, the food was great. We ordered drunken noodles and pad see ew. Noodles were cooked really well and both dishes tasted great. Bikini shrimp was good too but nothing special.

Crispy Duck Curry

Highly recommend Sisters Thai! I had Tom Ka soup and crispy duck curry. Their serving portion is very generous and I was so full and still had some good amount of leftovers. The service was very attentive and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant had a cute decor inside and it was very cozy. I accidentally ate a very spicy jalapeno and my mouth was burning, so it might be better avoiding it if your spicy food tolerance is low. Other than that, I had a great time and will come back for sure for more Thai food!

Pad See Ew (beef) Panang Curry (chicken) Drunken Noodles (shrimp) Crispy Duck Curry

I always start off with curry puffs. 10/10 and always consistent. The entrees were all amazing. I prefer drunken noodles but both the pad see ew and drunken noodles are delicious. Pad see ew is more chewy. I would recommend beef or shrimp for these dishes. Level 5 spice can get very spicy with the noodles. Chicken for the curries unless it is specific like the crispy duck curry. The crispy duck curry is my favorite and I get it every time. I noticed more pieces of pineapple and duck this time. Curry comes with rice. If you like heat I would do level 5 because it mixes well with the rices. I don't know how they were able to get perfectly ripe mangos during the winter but they did and this is an amazing dessert. The perfectly ripped mangos pair so well with the condense milk and sticky rice. Service is great, even in this small cute store. The servers are very attentive and refill waters regularly. They do a good job communicating with each other and it truly shows.

Donald Rolls

Sisters Thai aka Sisters The Living Room Cafe was a wonderful experience. Small intimate restaurant with cozy decor and great food. Staff is great. Entrees and appetizers are authentic and delicious. Ordered the curry puff , roti green curry and Donald rolls for appetizers. Absolutely delicious. For the entree ordered the Bamee Poo Moo Dang. That was good but could use a smudge more favor. But all in all had a great experience

Drunken Noodles

When you walk into the restaurant, the vibe of the place is very cute and picturesque. I loved the decor there! The staff were very friendly. We ordered takeout, and all the food was basically done in about 10 min, which was much quicker than I had expected. The drunken noodles were so spicy at level 3 but it was extremely tasty, I loved it. The crabmeat fried rice was also flavorful as well. I do wish that the takeout portions were a bit bigger though, especially for the price.

Wonton Soup and Sisters Fried Rice

This is a fun little spot! I had walked by it several times and had always wanted to try it. It was one of the better Thai food experiences I have had in the DC area. The inside dining area is cozy and the decor has a flowery coffee shop vibe to it. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly. The food was amazing and the portions seemed larger than other Thai places I have tried. I had the wonton soup and sisters fried rice. Both were excellent (and I purposefully went non-spicy with my choices). This is a great spot for a date or intimate group dinner. Easy 5/5 stars!

Portions have gotten so small that it's not worth the wait anymore. There are plenty of other stronger Thai establishments in the area.

Is there street parking only? Garage? Parking lot?

Parking lot for office building down the block (on University) is open and free after 6PM. There's also a lot/garage across the street. Fairfax city has plenty of free parking.

But the highlight was the Tom Yum Soup!! It was soo delicious, the broth so flavorful, generous veggies and herbs!! Loved it!

The restaurant is a longer, more compressed layout that has a lot of seating for a smaller space, but it can really fill up. The service is consistent across servers that I've experienced - they are neutrally friendly; the service is a little over the bare minimum, but not disappointing. They won't make you feel like you're special but instead like you're just another customer that they are going to feed and send on your way. No complaints. The food is consistently good, hence we keep coming back when we visit the area. We normally get the summer rolls, thai red curry, and pad thai. It's fresh, delicious, and something I look forward to enjoying when we are in town.

I had the lunch special here on a Friday and it was pretty darn good. Tastes were authentic but the "spicy" dishes could have used more spice. The lunch special offers 2 sides from among 3 choices: fried spring roll, papaya salad, or tom yum chicken soup. Since I had dining companions, I tried all three. The fried spring roll was average. It was not a fried stick of tasteless goo like at some other places. It had decent structure inside and good flavor, but it was rather plain. The sweet chili sauce on it was average and also had somewhat of an artificial pinkish hue to it. The tom yum chicken soup was similarly average but tasty enough to be satisfying. In my opinion, the papaya salad was the best of these three. It was crisp and fresh tasting, and had a good hint of chili spice to it. For entrees, we had the garlic tofu, drunken noodles, and chicken pad krapow. The garlic tofu came in a ring of undercooked broccoli. It could have been steamed longer or integrated with the cooking of the tofu and sauce. The flavor profile was lighter and less intense than at other Thai restaurants. Both the drunken noodles and the pad krapow delivered with familiar flavors, but underperformed on spice level. They were both denoted on the menu with 2 chili symbols but really came out weak (1 or less on the Universal Thai Spice Scale - UTSS). I'd come back here for the lunch special, or just to try anything else off the full menu, but I'd want to ask the kitchen to up their seasoning to match UTSS standards.

I ordered the pad Thai, the noodles were amazing! Sometimes they come out dry but this was spot on. Flavor was great, couldn't stop eating it! It's so rare that I don't like a Thai restaurant but this one definitely let me down. I wanted to…read moretry this place because it was close to where we were one Saturday evening. But the place was pretty empty, and I think I can understand why. The food here in my opinion is below average. I ordered a medium spice level Drunken Noodles with Chicken but I swear this was Extra Spicy--this is coming from a person that has a pretty high spice tolerance. Not only that, but it had a very tangy flavor to it as well. I've never had drunken noodles be this tangy. It did not taste right at all. This is one of my go to Thai dishes that I have ordered at many many restaurants. My husband got the Kob Kun Fried Rice. His dish was okay, but sort of strange. They kind of just plopped some crab on top (see pic) and didn't actually mix it into the fried rice. The crab they put on top was kind of cold, while the rest of the dish was hot. I thought that was odd. Even then it was better than my dish. So my husband, who has an higher spice tolerance than me, offered to swap dishes with me but even he could not handle it. It was spicy in a truly unenjoyable way. This sucks because I ordered a medium and they did not take that into account at all when making it. I had to do what I very rarely do--I asked if I could kindly send the dish back and I explained my issue. They were nice enough to let me order something different. I got the green curry with chicken. Sad thing is I got this mild in an effort to not have the spice issue again. However this time, my curry was completely sweet. I do actually like some spice in my thai food so this whole experience really sucked. I feel like I've made better thai curry at home, I will not be going back.
