He had a turkey club and I had a turkey avocado sandwich on multigrain. For sides we had cucumber salad, potato salad, and mac & cheese. A word of surprise, the potato salad is served warm, but it was really tasty. The only disappointment was the mac & cheese, which was grainy and soup-like with very overcooked noodles in it. They had no discernible shape and almost seemed like egg noodles oddly enough. We enjoyed our drinks, sandwiches and salads very much.

Such a cute, cozy place. It was like stepping into a warm cafe in another land…read more I started with a seasonal latte that had hints of toasted marshmallows, cinnamon, and pumpkin. Followed by a Monte Cristo. The bread was so light and fluffy. The saltiness of the meat with the sweetness of the bread and sugar with a little spread of raspberry preserves delighted the tastebuds. The side of fruit was large and seasonally appropriate. You order at the counter, where I think the owner was taking the orders and the accent definitely sounded authentic German like the name of the restaurant. She was lovely. Everything is made fresh so sit back and relax and the dining area is designed perfect for that with couches, cozy chairs and comfortable seats at the tables. I looked up what the name means: "Drachenfutter" is also a term used to describe gifts or treats that someone might bring home for their significant other when they feel guilty about coming home late or drunk. True to the "gift" part of the name, you can take yummy homemade treats home with you and they do have a section of gifts you can buy. A nice gem of a place along Historic Route 66.

That's a bit disappointing since there's so many families in this area. Nevertheless they do have a very modern look now. The one fun thing is this table that the kids loved interacting with. As far as service they did seem to take a long time to get our meals (we ate in) and then they brought out the kids meals first and left us waiting for a good 10 minutes. I'll also add that you can't get your own refills on drinks. I'm assuming you still get free refills but good luck trying to find a person to get it done in a timely manner.

This location is a regular stop for my fiancé and I when we travel through Waynesville MO in need…read moreof a caffeine pick me up, and we have never received better service than this time! We were helped by the new GM of the cafe who made our somewhat complicated orders absolutely PERFECT! We always order two venti Carmel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino's; one with extra whip inside and both with extra carmel crunch toppings on the top as well as inside of the drinks. This is why I call our order somewhat complicated because most baristas get confused at this point, and only give us extra crunch toppings on the top of the drinks. The rockstar GM barista not only gave us extra on the top, but did something none has ever done for us before.. she took the lid off of the topping shaker and actually put LAYERS of the crunches inside our drinks AND on the bottom of them too!! I was like: WAAAT?! We didn't have any cash to tip her, and unfortunately, I think because the store is located inside of a shopping center, we couldn't find the option to tip her on the Starbucks app either. But girl if you are reading this, we travel through MO often and will remember to bring cash next time! With her quality service, she deserves not only a decent 20-25% tip, but also a friggin RAISE. Even with her being the ONLY worker there at the time we popped in, she worked as fast as she could and we had our drinks in hand in about 5 minutes. Sure, there aren't any plushy couches, bean bags, or bohemian music playing--because it's located in a grocery store, duh! Do you ever see couches at the Starbucks location in Target stores? No. I worked the food service industry over 15 years, and know well the ups and downs and lefts and rights. I have faith she has the experience to turn this location into a 5 star spot in no time. It's all about attitude, attention and motivation, and she has it all!

You risk entrapment if you park close to the door because the drive-through runs along the front of the buildings front entrance. The coffee itself is pretty average by Starbucks standards. Nothing to rave about, but nothing to complain about either. The service is a mix bag. There are some amazing servers that are extremely sweet and seem happy to be there and there are other others that seem to have a perpetual sour look on their face. The dining area has a dusty feel, and the seating is uncomfortable for a coffee place. Overall, if you're dying for Starbucks, I would suggest that before visiting, be sure you're committed to stay in the line and take the drive-through for this one.
