As soon as we opened the door and came in, we got a big smell of cigarettes. We don't smoke and that smell was very strong. I assumed it was something else burning so I let it go. The food was ok. But, we also had a weird taste like "ash". It would of been better if we didn't get the smell of tobacco as we were eating. Lastly, as we were finishing eating I noticed an older lady smoking in the kitchen. Then i realized that's the reason we got the smell of cigarettes coming through the door. read more

Nice place to have breakfast or lunch surrounded by friendly people and staff. Menu has the favorites and they are well prepared. My favorite was the biscuit which came with my breakfast. Can't wait to go back and try them with gravy. read more

Very nice people but the food is just your basic breakfast fare. Small breakfast menu that turns into a small lunch menu. I have never been here for lunch but I can speak for the breakfast. My last experience was two thumbs down...other experiences have been mediocre. Our order was definitely forgotten about as customers afterwards received their orders, we filled our own coffees from the front, seems like we were kind of forgotten about. When we finally received our breakfast my "toast" was soggy bread with butter (it couldn't even hold itself up), my hash browns tasted straight from the bag...unflavored and cold. My sunny side eggs...meh. The bacon was the only thing I cared for. After waiting so long for breakfast I was so disappointed my breakfast was cold and bland. I probably ate 10% of it. I don't send food back so that was not an option. I know plenty of people that are regulars here and like the company of the staff. I will have to pass on this one on the next invite. read more

After living in the area for almost 7 yrs, we decided to try out this place for breakfast last Saturday, after reading the reviews. As others have stated, it is in an old building and yes the carpet is torn. We were greeted by a man with a toddler on his hip, his wife poured our coffee and took our order. At the end of our breakfast, their kid was playing with another child and their doggy was visiting everyone. Somebody had written that this place has no atmosphere but I disagree. I felt like I was eating at somebody's home. The bathroom was scary...after going up a couple of steps, the toilet faces a door that obviously went into the kitchen. I held onto the door handle, afraid that somebody would come in and on the entry door, is a full door mirror and I couldn't help wonder if I had locked that door, lol. But it was clean. The food was very good. My hashbrowns tasted like it was hand shredded from a baked potato, not frozen. The gravy had real sausage in it which is rare these days. My eggs were cooked perfect and my bacon crisp. I had a better breakfast here than I ever had at Cracker Barrel. We will be back! read more

Ashley, our server, was very kind and friendly. She kept the coffee, soft drinks and water coming. We had a large group 12+ people and she didn't seem one bit flustered. All our orders were right. First, a warning. If you're a prissy yuppie, do not go here. Now, for real people. This place has flies, dirty tables, torn carpet, and cracked wood trim on the walls. Went with my husband for lunch, the service was slow, tables was dirty as they only had one waitress. When we finally got our food it was dry, bread was hard as a rock and the waitress didn't even acknowledge we still was in the restaurant when we needed to speak with her. The gentleman at the register was about as friendly as ice too and when asked on our service he just replied with an "ok". Pass on a second visit which is sad as I we would rather support the small businesses in the town vs a chain. read more

Place is absolutely disgusting. The carpet looks like it was ripped out of an old trailer house and re-used. While we were in there the owners dogs were running around the tables. Several people came in right off of the street smoking and went straight back to the kitchen and was talking with the cook, one "stranger" even delivered our food to us. The owner sat behind the counter smoking and playing lottery (which seems to be predominant in there). The only reason I would give this place 2 stars, because honestly the food wasn't that bad. Really though, the health department should shut this place down. read more
