The food was Not that great & took a while to get it. Definitely don't get the hashbrowns. Plus, the Service was Slow! It's either Hot or Cold in the Restaurant everytime I've been in because the waitress told me the AC Unit was not big enough for the restaurant! Stopped here for breakfast. It was full of customers which made us believe that we made the correct decision to stop in. We were lucky and a table became available within a few minutes. It was uncomfortably warm but we believe they were having an issue with the air conditioner. The servers were friendly and attentive. We ordered and the food came out fairly quickly. The chicken fried steak was delicious as were the hashbrowns, pancake and eggs. They did a decent job basting the eggs and a good job making soft scrambled eggs. Portions are generous and we will definitely remember this place when we are in the area again. Worth the stop! read more

While on a Rt. 66 cross country trip in our 1930 Ford Model A we stopped at this eatery suggested by some locals we had met. It was an excellent suggestion. It is a little Mom and Pop place where the people were super friendly. Other customers stopped to talk about the car and our trip. The walls were decorated with all types and years of lunchboxes, hence the restaurant name. The waitress kept our coffees filled and checked for any needs. The food was excellent and the portions huge. I couldn't finish all that was served. I had a 3 egg skillet with ham, sausage and bacon that was overflowing with meat. I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially if want to have a great meal in a down home local environment. read more

We lucked out when we found this gem on a cross country road trip. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. The employees knew everyone that walked in the door, but were really friendly and helpful when they didn't. We had a veggie omelette, a club sandwich with crunchy tater tots and the last piece of coconut cream pie made by one of the employees. Definitely stop if you're close by. The lunch box collection is nostalgic and super cute. read more

Homespun diner in downtown Lebanon with good food, friendly faces and affordable prices. The minute we walked in we were greeted with hellos. Nothing fancy here but you get a feeling of being in your mom's kitchen. They have a special each day but the day we went it was chicken and we'd had chicken the day before. So, I went for the open face roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and my honey went for her go to plate; a BLT with potato salad. Both meals were solid. My wife appreciated letting her substitute the salad instead of the fries. Definitely going back next time we're in town. read more

Very nice local breakfast / lunch spot in the historic old downtown of Lebanon Mo. They offer a 'special daily as well as standard breakfast and lunch fare. The food is tasty and fresh. We came in and it was PACKED! we waited for 45 mintues for our meal (11 am and wanting breakfast). We were patient and were listening. The one 5 person party was very very picky The 15 person party was happy and ok with the food, service and price. We came at the wrong time but the food was Fantastic! The atmosphere was great and conditions they were already short handed the owner came out and apologized and we chatted and she gave us 10% off, which was very nice! A couple things....get real chocolate milk. I wanted French toast at 1104 and was told only no pancakes and French toast after 1104 (I know bad day and certain things we cannot get) but its ok. My figure agrees with you. Make the hash browns better and have chocolate chip cookies available. We will come back read more

I had the fried chicken salad and my husband had the special, which was baked pork chops that were marinated in some yummy seasonings and baked forever. They were so tender! I go there quite often. Sometimes it's a little crazy, but always a good time. Food may be a little slow sometimes, but always good. Tiny place, but maybe you can join another, or wait and tables clear rather quickly. Definitely a place to go. read more

Excellent food, down home atmosphere! The small dining room allowed for lots of conversations across tables. The tag line for the restaurant is "where locals meet to eat" and we certainly found that to be true. We stopped in mid-morning for brunch and each had a breakfast platter.
