This a good place especially if you have kids. It works for a lite lunch. The cost felt high for the selection available.

You cannot go wrong with this charming, cozy cafe in Osage Beach. I ordered half potato soup and half chicken salad on the most delightful, soft cranberry bread. Everything was fresh, healthy, and made from pure love. The service was exceptional, and it will be our new lunch go to when we come back next year. Do yourself a favor and check it out! If I could give the service here 5 million stars I would! They have a great selection of salads, sandwiches, and soups. And for sides you can choose between fresh fruit/veggies, chips, or sweet potato chips. I loved having the fruit/veggies option and they were definitely fresh. They also have a display case of truly delicious-looking cookies and this chocolate cake-muffin thing that I was soooo tempted to get. My panini was warm and crispy, and I did get one of the chocolate cookies, too. They have outdoor seating for dog people, and inside they have some coloring pages and crayons for the kiddos. Food was fresh and the portions adequate. We ordered a salad, quiche, and potato soup, along with a slice of carrot cake, black coffee and a lemonade. Not sure about the coffee, seemed not to be just a regular drip style and it had a frothy cap. Maybe like an instant? They had to make it and bring it to the table. This quiet little cafe seemed like an inviting bite, not full and we did have to wait a while before someone came to the front to take our order but overall not a bad start. The menu had sandwiches that were basically the same rendition over and over, but even then not a one star place to go-yet. The menu had candied bacon on pretty much everything, and who doesn't like sweet bacon? I ordered my sandwich, with candied bacon and waited for my order. I got my food, and within three bites felt the horror that is anaphylactic shock. I jumped up, throat closing, and asked if there were any nuts in my sandwich, and apparently ALL the candied bacon is smothered with pecans. NOT mentioned on the menu. She did point out the small fine print on the bottom of the physical menu that said "all food made around nuts, cross contamination" but this wasn't cross contamination-these were giant chunks of pecan. The menu on the wall didn't even say "candied" bacon it just said bacon. No mention of nuts either. No where did they specify that nuts were on the bacon. I know some responsibility is on me to say I have the allergy but blatantly not including this very important allergy information is irresponsible. And when I let them know they may want to add that, since this was a serious reaction, I was dismissed and told "they hadn't changed the menu in 11 years"-but Id never been there before. Just beware if you have allergies this is not an allergy friendly place. The food is fine, but not worth anaphylactic shock for lack of care in their menu. read more

I stopped in for lunch while in town and it was such a delight! I was greeted by the kindest woman and she was so welcoming and sweet. The space has a artistic decor that's very unique and cozy. The coffee was delicious and the food was amazing! Everything is homemade and you can tell. I enjoyed the pasta e fagioli soup and the berried treasure sandwich. I love this place! It's so cute and I always love supporting local businesses. Our table was made out of a door! Super cute vibe inside. My coffee was delicious, I got a turkey sandwich on their homemade buns with their avocado ranch which was so good, and lastly I got a gooey butter cookie. May I just say, best butter cookie I've ever had! It almost tastes like a lemon bar at the very beginning, and then you taste the creamy butter cookie flavor directly after. A wonderful restaurant, the food was amazing it was comforting and delicious. The potato soup was homemade and reminded me of home, like being wrapped in a hug. The carrot cake was to die for, the cake was fluffy and spiced perfectly while the cream cheese icing was rich and melted in your mouth. The light music in the background made for a pleasant experience and everyone was so nice. I couldn't recommend that you visit more, I would 100% go back! read more

It's a neat little shop and the ambiance is really nice. Colorful decorations and soft music as the backdrop. As I walkerd in, it sounded like some of the artwork is for sale. All salads and sandwiches are $8. Panera type prices for Panera type food, just without the selection. I had a turkey and bacon panini (Blake's Choice), and it tasted fine, but I don't feel it was a good value. The only drink options available are iced tea, lemonade, fruit infused water, or coffee. Also, when you walk in and start to scan the menu near the ceiling, look for a stand-up printed menu on the glass pastry case. They didn't have the full menu available the day I visited, and options were limited to what was on the printed menu. They are only open for lunch or private parties. Overall it's A-Ok. I can see the appeal to this place, but they could add more meat to the sandwiches so I don't feel like I was hoodwinked. read more

We searched for a good place to have lunch and happened upon the Paint Box Cafe. Lucky for us because the food and service were Amazing! The chicken salad and potato soup were delicious! Served in cupcake wrappers and a muffin tin. Super cute. Kids loved it. *chicken salad sandwich- very delicious, cranberry bread was great. *?300 salad?- good size, could have used a little more of the add ons. *carrot cake- perfectly moist and fantastic. Icing was great! *chocolate muffin/cakes- moist and my kids seemed to love them. *chocolate cookie with pink salt- my husband wasn't the biggest fan of the salt but I loved it! We had another sandwich/salad combo that we couldn't remember the names of but they were both very good. Will definitely stop in if we're in the area again.
