We ate here several times this past week.While staying at the motel next door. The grandkids love the huge waffles with strawberry topping and chocolate chips. My grandson had chicken fettuccine alfredo , and it was delicious. The waitress says were very friendly and the service was good. I would definitely go back. read more

If you're in to watching mice and roaches run rampant, then by all means this is your place. Food is gross,soups are leftovers from other soups. Servers laugh about dropping a dirty rag in the soup but in the same breath complain loudly about the smell of dead mice in the galley way where they prepare salad. Salad is typically slimey and don't get me started on the nasty owner and the smell of sewer gas. Someone is definitely paying off the health department! Fantastic independent roadside restaurant serving up fresh, hot , and consistent quality food from a broad menu. On a busy night we were seated and served quickly and efficiently. My half-chicken dinner came with salad, roll, green beans and baked potato, setting me back a grand total of ten dollars (so divide that over two meals after my go-box). My dinner companion ordered an omelet with hash browns and toast, all piping hot and equally delicious. A solid four stars. The fifth star was earned by our extraordinary server Lorenzo, who responsively attended to a large group and other tables with humor and elegance; and to a kitchen which appears to also run like a fine Swiss watch. read more

I stopped here because I was traveling though the area. It is a quaint roadside diner. The food was good however the waitress decided to up sell and charge me and my friend. She asked us if we wanted soup or salad and insisted that it came with our meal. My friend and I really didn't want a soup or salad since it seemed like plenty of food already. When the bill came each meal was 2 dollars more than it was on the menu. When we asked why the waitress rudely responded that the salad was extra. It was obvious she knew we didn't want the add ons and that she got caught. It's too bad this is what will be memorable to me about this restaurant. read more

Always a good solid place for a decent, home made meal. Good portions, great prices, there's always specials. There is a smoking and non smoking side, homemade desserts, but oddly, it is very, very quiet in there. A radio would make a huge difference in the atmosphere of the joint. I stayed at the Super 8 motel right across the street, within walking distance, when I traveled for my Penned Con signing. I had trouble with my rental car and, due to a mixup, was trapped in my hotel room most of the day. By the time 2pm rolled around, I was starving, but before that, I called over to the restaurant and asked if they had a gluten-free menu. The person who answered the phone said, "What?" like he had no idea what I was talking about. I asked again, "Do you have gluten-free, menu items?" He said, "Glu, glu...what?" He didn't even know what gluten was? I find this extremely irresponsible for any restaurant who serves food to the public. They should take it upon themselves to be educated about food allergies. I was just glad I didn't walk all the way over for nothing! read more

Great service! Fast and friendly. Homemade soups and large portions. Reasonably priced with a good variety of choices.

The hash browns were soggy, the omelet had sausage in it instead of the advertised bacon and it was over cooked. The "toast" was soggy, barely toasted, and so cold it didn't even begin to melt the fake butter crap that was thickly spread on it, there is no cream for the coffee - just fake Coffee Mate shit... basically it's poorly prepped Sysco truck fare. There were multiple sets of unruly children running around everywhere and and screaming like banshees completely unchecked. But the worst part is apparently they host church groups on Thursday's, so I got to listen to some pompous misogynist asshole loudly preaching about pornography and how woman are the root of all evil while I was trying to eat my crappy breakfast. They were seated on the other side of the restaurant, but their leader was the loud fire and brimstone type and everyone was forced to listen to his bullshit. I asked the waitress if she could ask him to pipe down, she just shrugged and said that was their regular Thursday thing and walked off. read more

Stopped here as we were staying at a hotel near. Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised at the breakfast here. Omelet was delicious! We wound up eating here Saturday and Sunday. Ner had to wait and service was quick and friendly. read more

All I can say is WOW! Our party of 30+ was there at lunch. One waitress took all our orders, served our food, and was so pleasant. No errors on the food. Drinks were always full. Food was very good. I was extremely pleased! Only downfall, the ladies restroom smelled terrible. We've been there twice and both times smelled the same. I don't get it. We had the tuna melt and corned beef melt. Both were sad. The cheddar soup was a gloopy mess. Bread was soggy, sandwhich was cold and not properly melted. Sad cafeteria food. Maybe the burgers are good..? Wish I would have tried that instead. read more

The made from scratch Wisconsin cheddar soup with thick chunks bacon was steaming on our table within a minute of our order. The Reuben sandwich was so sumptuous tears came to our eyes. If you want prompt, service, and food made from scratch this place is not to be missed! read more

Iv also ordered some burgers, and they do it right. the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the alow smoking in the restaurant every day other than specific times on Sunday. Never had a bad meal there, we go there 2-3 days a week. They have ample staff, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The AYCE Walleye dinner is outstanding on Friday night as is the AYCE fried chicken on Tuesday night. Id highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more
