Comfortable restaurant and bar. Every month they have a slew of specials. This month one of the specials was the Willie Nelson sandwich. 1/2 burger, fried chicken breast dipped in Buffalo Hot sauce with bacon and cheese. I added lettuce and tomato and WOW it was delicious. My sister had her favorite the pork tenderloin sandwich. A variety of sides are available as well as upcharge sides like a baked potato. Never have I ever had a subpar meal. Service is top shelf. I really enjoyed Whittle's. I had a mushroom Swiss burger which was huge, and tater tots which were perfect. Now the service is very slow but they were crowded. The service was friendly. I really enjoyed the mushroom Swiss burger. It was perfectly cooked. Boring but I had water to drink. The server kept my glass full. What is really cool here is the history. Ask them if you go there. This place is awesome! Most people wouldn't have a reason to stop in eldon but you should. This place would be on the way from Jefferson City, lake of the ozarks and many other Missouri areas. It's a nice small town restaurant. At our table, we had chicken sandwiches, chicken strips and a burger. All of these were phenomenal!! The grilled chicken sandwich was nicely seasoned, chicken strips were hand breaded and the burger was nice and juicy. Tator tots were an option and I feel like that's the sign of a quality establishment! I love tator tots! Service was okay, took awhile to get our order but we had good company so wasn't the end of the world. Everybody is short staffed and I understand that. Big parking lot near by. Heard good things about Whittle's pub and we tried them out. They did not disappoint. Walking in the decor was a sports bar style with and touch of history as the location used to be a drug store and a local hangout for the kids after school upstairs. They also had a quaint dinning area to the right. The tenderloin sandwhich was huge and the bacon egg cheese burger was delicious. I ordered the single as the patties ate 1/2 lb. They also have a double but the single was plenty for me. Our service was very friendly and informative. We recommend you all stop by and enjoy. "No, there's a shortage and you cannot have lettuce"..... ok......maybe tell me that when I ordered the cheeseburger?? I moved the meal and was no longer interested in it, I didn't know that there was going to be a hard refusal...over lettuce....She brings lettuce. A little too late. Not the way to handle things. Afternoons are quiet and the service is very quick from the owner himself, while the place picks up quite a bit for evening fare. I also had a salad and since I am one to eat salads at supper, feel I can be a retry good judge of them. I don't know what they do, but will say it is one of the best side salads I have ever had. My coworker asked if I wanted really good bar food or Mexican for lunch. I chose the bar food, and we were off to the Whittle. In the tiny town of Eldon, Mo there are few choices for dining. The Whittle is a typical small town dive bar. NASCAR and hard liquors plaques on the walls, slot machines in the back, and locals smoking a pack of cigarettes during their meal. The burger and nacho were highly recommended by my coworker. I chose the Cajun burger with bleu cheese and a side of the potato salad. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of my lunch. The burger was cooked to perfection and was larger than anticipated. The potato salad was some of the best I've ever had. There was a hint of cinnamon or nutmeg that really stood out. After my visit to Eldon, I do agree with my coworkers. This is the best lunch spot in town! read more

Waitress or Bartender whatever the girl is with the red hair was so flirty with my husband it was disgusting that she actually thinks she's that cute with no brain either bc she got our simple food order wrong and she smelled like alcohol on her breath, she seemed too drunk when we kept asking her for the tab and then she went out for a cigarette and we had to close out with somebody else that seemed super annoyed with her! I went on a Saturday night to have a few drinks and it was a complete disappointment. Took the employees 15 minutes before we were acknowledged and asked what we would like to drink. Most of the time which they were standing behind the bar playing on their phones. We finished our first drinks which weren't bad but after waiting another 15 minutes we decided to get our check and go. Couldn't help but notice how filthy the bar was with stains down the wall from spills that were never cleaned. Reminded me of the TV show Bar Rescue. read more

I was very excited to finally get to eat at Whittle's! I had to order the breaded pork tenderloin because I have seen rave reviews. The reviews were right! It's the best one I've had at the lake. The breading was light and crispy, not greasy, and the meat was tender but not way too thin. What was surprising is that my husband got the grilled tenderloin with Cajun seasoning and it was even better than the breaded one!! The fries were unusually good too. The only downside was our appetizer of mushrooms. The breading was crumbling off of them and very greasy like maybe they had been refried. We will definitely go back next time we are in town! read more
