We were just driving by. My mom really liked the beef liver with onions, if you like that sort of thing. I liked their fries. The place is laid back, a bit frozen in time, but maybe that'a cool too. The waitress was pretty accommodating and very pleasant. read more

The good: They have nice decor. The bad: My grilled cheese was pretty blah. Staff wasn't rude but not friendly. They have zero COVID practices in place- the staff did not wear masks. Any place that serves breakfast all day is OKAY with me! Coffee was good. One VERY important thing for me: when I asked for my bacon well done, I got it that way! It's the little things that count. Hubby had the meatloaf special and I don't know what the sauce was they put on top of it, but it was the BOMB! Service was not stupendous, but good enough. Prices were reasonable. read more

Food was excellent. leaving one star because our waitress. long gray hair, was the WORST I have seen in 50 years. rude, loud, and acted like we were bothering her for asking for ketchup. served our food, didn't remember who ordered what and said "come on" when we switched plates. It really seemed to bother her that we were even there. smaller dark haired younger woman was excellent but unfortunately not our server. not impressed. Seemed to be lots of yelling at one another and other customers. Didn't even come to our table to get our drink order, yelled it across the room like a bunch of heathens. read more

This is a amazing place. I worked at another "home cooking" place for 13 years and this place blows it out of the water. Even though the service was slow and never got refills or checked on the food makes up for it. Will return for sure. Hubby had fried chicken and he said it was the best I had open faced roast beef and it's was a huge portion. Real mashed taters! read more

I came in today and ordered A chicken breast dinner. Menu specifies two chicken breasts and two sides. After waiting nearly 40 minutes, I received my food. They were hot, but the chicken breasts were very small (about 2.5 oz) and VERY DRY like they had been reheated. I ordered fresh cut french fries That were old and cold. The sweet tea was good, and the broccoli was the only thing on the plate that had any flavor. read more

#15-2021 the old Oasis at Richland Missouri. taking me back to my early truck and days and I used to trash around here all the time located roughly 15 minutes from Lebanon Missouri or 45 minutes outside of Rolla on interstate 44. this is an old school truck stop this is not a travel center they don't claim to be a travel center it's geared towards truck drivers still. I hadn't stopped and here probably in close to 4 years or so don't ask me why I've got some other places I usually hit when I'm rolling up 44 but last night I got tired pulled in and go to sleep. walking in it looks like 1985 still the way it looked other than a couple of tables removed one big long sort of we called it the trucker's community table back in the day gone other than that looks the same. it is ran by the same people that run the truck stop although it's called the Westwood Cafe it's used to be known just as The Oasis truck stop and Cafe but I was greeted when I walked in seated had a cup of coffee perused the menu. it was very clean the tables are wiped down. tried decided to order up a ham steak and eggs with sourdough toast and I asked you to have hash browns or they also said they have home fries I say are they on the grill or are they more in the basket fried. she said they can make them anyway you wet so I like the old fried potatoes on the grill and that's what they made. food was fantastic the eggs were done perfectly over medium like I liked, sourdough toast was fine I had no problem at all in fact I think I may stop here a little more often. now to get the elephant in the room out of the way this is unmasked Missouri; it always has been this is an area where they don't wear masks and this rural area doesn't surprise me and I really didn't care. I wore mine in a few other people did but as far as the staff know they don't wear them just like at the store it's not enforced they don't really care. bottom line old school truck stop restaurant nice selection of stick to your ribs kind of food prepared nice and really no issues at all. prices competitive with any other place although I'm the weekends it is the local hot spot for dinner and it can get a little crowded. read more

The food was luke warm. Pork chops were fatty and lettuce In the salad was wilted with too much brown on the lettuce. Restrooms were filthy!!! The only positive is the service was good. read more

A friend of mine and I decided to go here for a late post workout breakfast. We are local and it was convenient. Haven't been here since before the Pandemic. The time was 11:15 am and there was no one in the restaurant, no one working and no one eating. We walked around and found a guy who said he was the server and the cook. He appeared to be playing the slots before we found him. He looked like he had just rolled out of bed. Hair was longer and greasy and he kept taking his hat off and running his fingers through his hair. After he cooked our order, he sat at the bar and looked at his phone. He had a dish rag in his hand that he was rubbing up against the side of his face, and then occasionally he would take his hat off and run his fingers through his greasy hair. I had asked for a cup of hot water for tea, but I didn't notice until after I put in my tea bag that the cup was dirty. At that point I was all done. I couldn't eat my food. All I wanted to do was leave. Not one person came in to eat while we were there. I don't know what's happened to this place, but it needs an intervention. Never going back. read more

This is such a good little diner and it wasn't even listed on here! I would have missed it completely if it hadn't been for Google! Now that it's on here, this place is worth the stop. Located in the Oasis Truck Stop on I-44, this Cafe is a great spot for some tasty coffee, good food, and friendly service. When my husband and I pulled up to get gas around the other side, we were surprised at just how full the parking lot was in front of the cafe. "That's a good sign." My husband commented. We went in and sat ourselves. Obviously, the place was quite busy, so it took several minutes for a server to get over to us, but it wasn't for lack of anyone just standing around--all the severs were hustling on this Sunday morning. (As a server, I recognize even the standing around server who's brain is breaking over trying to split up a large table's check.) Our server came over and was all smiles and took our order (I grabbed menus while no one was looking--she didn't seem to mind) and brought out our coffee. It was excellent, much better than IHOP or Denny's, which was were we originally planned on stopping (but a recent horrible experience at Steak n' Shake made me double check the ratings at the Denny's up the Interstate and the ratings were horrible, so this seemed like the right place to go). When the food came out it was hot and home made. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious--the hash browns were homemade and perfect, my breakfast sandwich totally rocked, and my husband's corn beef hash was salty, but his eggs weren't, so together they ate as a perfect flavor match. If you're looking for good food with friendly, truck stop service, this is the place to go. You'll hate missing it! read more

Place was empty when we got there, was a little skeptical at first. Waitress wasn't very friendly. Ordered the fried mushrooms to start off... they were terrible. Tasted as if they weren't cooked all the way. For main dish ordered the country fried steak which wasn't all that bad. Mac and cheese was TERRIBLE and coleslaw was awesome. Cooks in the back of the kitchen weren't very professional, cussing out loud. Just an average place around here, not worth driving out of your way. read more
