Stopped in her on Sunday afternoon just before noon. There was a line out the door and people waiting on the front porch (almost didn't stop but had heard great things about it). We made our way to the front counter and got on the list. Figured we would be in for a long wait, but our total time from putting our name on the list to being seated was under 10 minutes. It was a buffet style restaurant so the waitress got our drink order and invited us to help ourself to the buffet. The food was overall very good for everything I tried. They had 5 buffet bars set up 1 salad bar, one meats/mains, 1 veggie, 1 split veggie & warm desserts and a cold desert bar. The standout foods I tried were the fried chicken, fried catfish, and fried shrimp. I tried the catfish without many expectations since it was a buffet and not a huge catfish fan, it was one of the cleanest tasting catfish I have ever put in my mouth. The fried chicken was delicious as well. We weee totally impressed with the building, speed of service and the great food. My wife who hates most buffets even looked at me and said she would come back to this buffet anytime. read more

Best Buffet was what i was told in North Florida by a fellow youtuber. They weren't even lying, Hand down the best, from scratch , home style cooked buffet in North Florida for sure!! When we pulled into the parking lot only 1 hr after opening it was packed!! went in put my name on the list less the 15 mins we were seated and greeted! They have specials which change daily , today they had pork chops added to the buffet.Salad bar was amazing .And the chicken they have both baked and fried. Shrimp wasnt over breaded, matter of fact all the fried foods were perfectly seasoned and lightly breaded. The waitresses were all very friendly and came by and checked on us regularly, and refilled our sweet tea. Even the dessert bar was amazing , peanut butter cookies were so soft and my favorite. I only wish i took more pictures of food, next time!! It is only about an hour from Gainesville, nice relaxing drive and worth it!! read more

In my ongoing quest to try different places in the regional area, I took a motorcycle ride out to Branford to try out Sister's Cafe. The ride out there was pleasant, a nice ride out on US-27 then a bit of maneuvering through Branford to get to the cafe. Pulling into the parking lot, it was somewhat busy as the church crowd had just gotten out and they were there for a nice Sunday lunch as well. Inside, I found there to be a couple of different dining areas, and I was escorted to a table tucked away in a corner, which was fine by me. My drink order was taken, and then it was time to hit the buffet! I always walk the entire line of the buffet first before I actually start filling up a plate... this allows you to formulate a plan of what you would like to eat and there won't be any surprises of "ooh, I would love to try that, but my plate is already full!" The food is good here, and the fried chicken is excellent. They also have a baked chicken which I enjoyed, and the steak fritters were decent as well. Sadly, I found the mashed potatoes to appear to have come from a box, and the hushpuppies seemed too... fluffy? Yeah, that is the best word I can use to describe them. The shrimp were decent as well. The biggest disappointment I had was with the mac and cheese... it was gritty, and I feel like the cheese had separated. Not a good dish at all. All in all, I found the food here to be pretty good, the service was fine, and I had a good meal. I won't necessarily make the trip specifically to go here again, as it is a good 45 minutes from home, but it is certainly a place that is on the radar if I find myself in the area and hungry. read more

Such a great little hidden lunch time spot close to the river. We had the buffet and filled up on a few plates of everything from comfort foods to the nice selection of desserts that they offer on a daily basis. It's been a while since we stopped here so we decided to give it a try today on our way to Gainesville. It was crazy busy! The parking lot was overflowing and people were lined up outside. I anticipated a wait which was fine. We weren't in a rush. But they escorted us right in! The buffet was pretty much as we remembered - good ole southern fare- hot and fresh - even an hour before they were to close! We filled up on fried chicken, fried shrimp, fresh salad, fried okra which were all delicious. The mashed potatoes were in their last leg but it was almost closing time. The zipper beans had a great taste. It were slightly dry. The desserts were all delicious. We tried the Apple crisp and peach cobbler and figured we would have to be rolled out. But we oogled over the rest of the desserts that looks amazing. Yes I'd stop again! read more

If you're passing through anywhere near Branford Florida, between 1030 and 230 it would be worth checking out. But be warned, you might not have room to eat anything else that day. The parking lot always seems packed, says my friends staying nearby, so we decided to go for lunch. They apparently have a special buffet lineup on Fridays, since it costs $13.99 instead of $11.99 during the week, and our server encouraged us to look at it before ordering off the menu. What a spread! There was fried and sauteed shrimp, catfish, (on the bone and boneless) fried steak fingers, clan strips, fried chicken, all the classic Southern sides like mac and cheese, fried okra, and collard greens, a salad bar, a dessert bar, including bread pudding, apple cobbler and peach crisp, as well as vanilla soft serve ice cream. Oh, my. We are in love with Sisters Cafe. We happened upon this sweet place when we were attending a funeral in the area. I'm so glad we found this jewel. The staff is on point with keeping the buffet clean and stocked. Their fried shrimp is yummy! The desserts are very simple; but, who can't turn down an ice cream machine? Our first visit and even though we don't live near by, we will definitely be back! The minute you open your car door in the parking lot you are awash with the smell of good 'ole southern cooking, just like Grandma cooks on Sunday after church! Terribly disappointed in this place. Food was ok, but we had hoped to get breakfast. They open at 10:30 for lunch only so we waited over an hour to get in, then had to settle for typical southern fare. We asked for coffee, it was terrible - not to mention lipstick on the cup (we should have walked out at that point). Gross. We will not be back. read more

My first review of 2018 will be for my hometown's pride and joy, Sister's Cafe. I was raised eating here and it's just as good as it's always been. This place is a staple here but if you're from out of town (because most people are) it is well worth your drive. They have a much improved, clean, large restaurant and the food can't be beat. If you like Southern food, specifically if you like fried chicken done right, you won't find a better place than sisters. The fried okra here is also the best fried okra you can get. They offer a lunch buffet that will cost you a month's worth of calories but it's full of fried, Southern cooked goodness. The included dessert bar is also extensive. When we have family or friends visiting, we always take them to Sisters or at the very least, get the fried chicken to take home. It's our way of letting our guests know we love them and want to feed them something delicious. Know if you come on Sundays after church, this place will be packed. Also, consider calling and checking that they're open...for the life of me I can't figure out their hours so it's worth a phone call. read more

This restaurant does not practice any social distancing at all. They seat at FULL compassity everyday they are open. Nobody in the kitchen wears protective masks. I also worked in their kitchen for a month as a dishwasher... they mix chicken blood in with dish water and rinse rice and noodles right next to dirty dishes. Then they save all the scraps off customers plates and store it in a large open trash can on wheels into their walk-in refrigerator and leave it there for at least 12 hours next to fresh vegetables and random seafood and beef thawing out in water within the refrigerator. We absolutely love the food here! We love the staff here. Only reason it does not get 5 stars is because when we go to eat lunch here, typically on Sunday, we go in a group of 10 or more. You can not call ahead to put your name on the list in advance so if you get there past 12:00 you will have to wait in line. Our typical wait, for our party size, is usually around 45 minutes.
