Quaint spot i visited while in town on business. I asked local sheriffs and Law Enforcement officers where they'd eat and this was the hands-down location they all mentioned. Upon finding the side door entrance, I was immediately taken back to when life was slower and people sat to eat and have conversations. No one was in a rush. We visited there yesterday. I was surprised by the small number of reviews but they were mostly good. When we walked in we were greeted and offered a table. The place was full of locals and that is always a good sign. The food came out quickly and it was very good. I had a Reubens with a side of broccoli apple slaw and both of them were excellent. We intentionally ordered items that would be quick because we could tell they were not happy to see us. Very nice ambiance and, again, the chicken salad plate and chicken salad sandwiches were very good. Another negative is I NEVER appreciate plastic utensils when I am spending $12 for a salad! Although they were getting ready to close in 30 minutes they did not make us feel unwelcomed. This off the beaten path eatery was very nice. I personally think a whole wall of coffee options is a bit much, but to each his own. The menu had some variety. I ordered the grilled cheese which was fair. Actually my daughter said the ones I make at home have more flavor! My daughter enjoyed the quesadillas. Sad they use styrofoam cups and plastic straws and even the sour cream comes in a pa ket that you cannot recycle either. . So much for recycling and saving the environment. We were passing through Perry and found this lovely little restaurant. The service was very good and pleasant. We ordered the Jalapeño Popper sandwich and the BBLT (double bacon). The Popper sandwich had pimento cheese, sliced jalapeños and bacon. Both sandwiches we very good and served right off the griddle. We were to choose a side. I asked our server which one didn't have sugar. The potato salad was the only one and it was delicious. The bathroom was very clean. The reason for four stars is the BBLT needed more mayo and had one 3" diameter tomato slice. We will stop again and have two Popper sandwiches. read more

First impressions are important, the hostess asked us something to the nature of "what are you doing here?" as soon as we walked in the door. It set the tone. Normally I'd find a different place to eat but I was driving through on a Monday morning. The soup of the day was Crab and Corn bisque. It was delicious and the flavors were perfect. The house coffee was mediocre. I tried the broccoli salad on review recommendation and found it overly sweet. The wait staff weren't friendly, hurrying away from the table as soon as possible. Picked pasta salad for my side, great! I could've been happy with just a bowl of this! They had other side salad choices: potato, broccoli, cucumber salads, chips. My husband ordered the BLT. The Southern Gobbler, Cobb salad and that amazing cucumber salad are my go to items...oh and the ruben I like ans that comes from a native upstate NYer!!
