I love love love when a Thai restaurant serves their Tom Kha in a festive dish. It was heated in style. They do have a different name for it here, coconut lemongrass soup. The taste was a bit more sweet than most Thai restaurants I've been to. Service was ok and probably needed another server then just one for a Friday afternoon. I liked the parking situation for this location. There was a few available street parking and they even have a parking lot next to them and close by. Entrance is on lot side as well but the main entrance is on the street side. I enjoyed the roti but curry sauce was a bit bitter than most other Thai locations. Pricing was reasonable. Definitely a great location for dates, friends and family for a delicious meal.

It's my first time here, and everything went well. The food, service, and ambiance. This restaurant just became my favorite restaurant in Downtown Martinez. I'll be coming back again!

Great Thai restaurant in downtown Martinez. Food is tasty and fresh. The spicy basil chicken was outstanding! The pumpkin curry was also quite nice. Good service also

What a great addition to the Martinez food scene. I hang out in Martinez periodically and often grab a bite to eat while there. Today, I had the pleasure of mistakingly walking into Sisaket Thai Kitchen, thinking it was Ginger Thai. This mistake had a silver lining. Here's why: Food: I ordered the green curry and brown rice and mushroom dumplings. Everything was delicious. The mushroom dumplings seem to have steamed and then finished on the stove top, which created both tenderness and crispiness. That was epic. Not only were they physically appealing, the taste was unbeatable. I also loved the green curry with brown rice. The bell peppers were aldente, just as I like them. Conversely, the eggplant was perfectly soft, but not overcooked. The spice level was perfect, too. Service: There was only one wait staff when I entered. That was fine, as the restaurant had only opened minutes before for dinner service (4:30 PM). The waiter, a young woman from Thailand, I found out, was both charming and knowledgeable. She suggested several vegan options to me. Her recommendations were spot-on. Ambiance: I love how they have re-designed the space. The ambiance is so warm and welcoming. Honestly, I think that candles would be a great touch. I would also recommend playing either instrumental music or music from Thailand. The latter would help approximate what being in Thailand might actually feel like. Very minor suggestions for your consideration. Again, I highly recommend Sisaket Thai Kitchen. I cannot wait to back and try even more of the deliciousness.

Roasted Duck Massaman Curry

We were in the area and decided to wait around until 4 for their dinner service. I am so glad we did, the food was amazing. Our server Ken was extremely friendly, kind, and helpful. The restaurant was clean and cozy and our service was fast. I had the roasted duck massaman curry and my wife and daughter shared the yellow curry. The curry was exceptional and was a perfect warm comforting meal on a cold and rainy day. If you're reading this review come give them a try!

Tried the sirloin and curry salmon both were great.

Food was amazing, service spot on and nice ambiance and setup for a small restaurant.

We also ordered the turnip cakes, shu mai, chicken feet, honey walnut shrimp, and sticky rice in lotus leaf (which they did not cheap out on and loaded it with Chinese sausage and salted egg, which most places leave out). Believe it or not, the highlight of our meal was their water. Their water has a clean, refreshing, lemony essence to it, so it just goes to show you how much they value attention to details.

Whether you're in town for jury duty, work, or play, here is a good lunch spot. I walked into Aberdeen Café during the lunch hour. Booths lined the wall on one side, and the bar was on the other. Korean pop music played softly while other customers ate lunch. I was seated at the booth and was served a glass of water to start. I got the #2015 Salt and Pepper Fish Filet lunch special with hot and sour soup of the day, egg roll, and substituted-in fried rice. I was served the hot and sour soup first. It was a wonderful appetizer. The classic spicy pepper and sour vinegar were balanced. The bits of crunchy mushroom and soft tofu added interest and texture to the thick broth. This was comfort in a bowl. The entree was delicious. The fried fish was hot off the wok when it arrived, steaming on the plate along with fried rice, broccoli, an egg roll, and some sweet and sour sauce. I enjoyed the fish; the heat of the jalapeno slices and the salt elevated the light crispiness and mild sweetness of the fish. The fried rice was light and fluffy with bits of egg. The sauteed broccoli had a solid crunch, and the vegetable egg roll was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This was a good, satisfying lunch at Aberdeen Café. When I'm in the mood for comforting Cantonese food again, I'll be back for more.

We landed on Pho May and we were so pleased to find a solid pho place so close to our house! The restaurant itself is exactly what you'd imagine for a Vietnamese restaurant - super inviting, Vietnamese decor, friendly employees, and heavenly smell of food coming from the kitchen. We got pho ga (chicken pho) and pho tai (rare beef pho) to go, along with a Thai iced tea. All of them were stellar. The broth for both soups were very flavorful, not too salty, and most importantly piping hot! The portions of meat, noodles, and toppings were very generous and super fresh. The prices are also super reasonable for the quality of the food. We will definitely be back - this is our new go-to spot in Martinez for pho!

The broth was awesome. I was hoping for some Basil but got cilantro instead. The shrimp was good but the rest of the seafood lacked flavor. It didn't matter how much hoisen sauce and sriracha I put I couldn't get the right flavor flavor. The tea was kind of bland. Not sure if it was mostly milk and not enough tea or if the tea was just not as strong as in other places. Also this isn't so much their fault and I know fixing systems are hard but it being cash only makes it difficult. Luckily there was a bank down the St and I was able to get some cash. All in all it was "good" I might give it one more try or maybe two more tries because I want to taste their sandwich and the beef pho. Hopefully my next experience is better.

Over the last couple years I've been trying to start it earlier and earlier during the holidays so that I don't feel horrible after Jan 1st. I realize Im getting older and I just want to eat more healthy meals at home in general. Because of that, I decided to stop making like 95% I used to make. Orange Chicken and Beef Chow Fun was part of that list This meal was supposed to be one of the last times I ate this meal and while it wasn't bad, I definitely felt just a tad disappointed with the quality. First off, respect for using thighs for the chicken. I feel like chicken breasts are doable but I feel like ultimately chicken thighs are the way to go for Orange Chicken. I really think that chicken breasts should just be reserved for something like Lemon Chicken. I also like that they give you a good amount of chicken too. A tiny more than I normally expect. Or at least thats how it felt. The flavor wasn't bad either but I the texture wasn't the best. Lots of the breading on the pieces were coming off easily which isn't the end of the world but it just felt like a single fried was used instead of a double fry for extra crispy. Not saying that happened but thats just what it felt like. It could have also been that it was sitting at the restaurant longer than usual. Im guessing it was the latter since I ordered DoorDash. I also ordered the Beef Chow Fun. It was fine but just overall found the sauce lacking. Same deal with the Potstickers. The texture was fine but flavor was just ok. I was really excited to try these too since it seemed like a favorite in town. But they were just ok imo. I honestly just felt like a lot of food just was rushed a little. The interesting thing though is this place also does sushi too so Im curious if their Japanese part of the menu maybe better than their Chinese side? Or Vise versa. Hard to say but I do want to try them again soon.

It's a charming area, and the Market & Main food court is such an inviting place with several takeout options. I decided to get a banh mi dinner for Jamie W and me, so I ordered the $9.50 Large Pork Belly Sandwich (Photo 4) and the $9.50 Large Five-Spice Chicken Sandwich (Photo 2) for us to share. Both came with a slathering of pate which was definitely a plus. We both agreed they were decent but so dominated by the bread and veggies that the proteins didn't have a chance. Surprisingly, the highlight turned out to be the $1.50 Parmesan Cheese Corn, a pair of munchable cobettes that worked as a contrasting flavor and texture (Photo 6). I was excited to see the size of the Bahn Mi sandwich, but disappointed in the texture of the bread. For me the bread makes a sandwich especially a Bahn Mi. The bread was a little hard into it. Was not sure it was fully fresh. The pork belly was rubbery & very thinly sliced and more veggie than meat. The wings came with the Korean sauce on them already, than on the side. The Korean sauce was soy sauce forward instead of a balanced flavor. Not a fan. The pickled papaya was not spicy & was pickled in a sweet pickling marinade. I guess I was expecting it to taste more vinegar forward. I have had plenty of Bahn Mi sandwiches in the area this was my least favorite.

We walked in to find the restaurant nearly empty--just my friend and I in a space that could seat around 40. That's usually not a red flag for me but it made the underwhelming meal stand out even more. We ordered the #7 Hamachi Kama (grilled yellowtail collar), which came with rice and salad. The fish didn't taste fresh and had an odd texture--not what I've come to expect from this dish. The rice had a strange aftertaste, and the salad dressing was more like watered-down mayonnaise than anything appetizing. Next came the shrimp and veggie tempura platter. I get that tempura is a simple dish--hot oil, light batter, a good fry--but even that missed the mark. The batter lacked flavor and the portion was surprisingly sparse for the price point. I really wanted to like this place. The staff were polite and attentive, which I appreciate. But unfortunately, good service can't make up for a dinner that just didn't deliver. #gaveitagoodtrythough
