I was pleasantly surprised that this wasn't just a pretty treat, it had a very faint authentic strawberry flavor!

This is a tiny little store in Koreatown Plaza with a very simple front window (compared to all the neighboring stores with flashy K-pop merch or promotion signs in the window), but I got really curious and as I got closer, I could tell that something delicious was going on inside. I just wanted a simple treat, so I went with a pink with a white heart rice cake. Then to meet my ccard minimum, I picked up a bag of super light fluffy puffed rice cakes. So glad! I had been trying to find something like these since I had them at an event, but these were much better quality! I wanted to try many other things, but I was limited in the space that I had since that was just the beginning of what was going to be a long busy day. But I will be back for sure! These would be a great gift or a great way to celebrate special occasions!

Siroodang consistently has good quality, great taste sweets and desserts that embody the true Korean culture. Their red bean is homemade, and plus they have sesame oil and perilla oil that are hand pressed. Their mochi is a must try and is extremely tasty and chewy. The only downside and the reason why I gave 4 stars is the price--they are quite expensive. Mochi cost $4 each as well and there are no rewards program nor discounts. Otherwise, overall was a great experience

Been craving fresh Korean rice cake and tried their ssot injeolmi and black sesame rice cake. They both were very tasty and super chewy. These taste like mochi but healthier and less sweet compared to y Japanese mochi.

Siroodang is my GO-TO spot in Ktown Plaza for rice cakes - the small ones are great sizes to enjoy as a snack. The pumpkin, mugwort, blueberry and strawberry flavored square rice cakes are all so delicious and not too sweet. I love the soft injeolmi one stuffed with red beans and walnuts. *they only accept cash for under $10

Handmade Choo Seok Song Pyeon was so good from this place. It was a little crowded and busy at that moment but it was worth wait a bit. Best Rice Cake store in LA.

    Yakshig
    Fateha A.

Got yakshig ($7.50). It contains, " sweet rice, jujube, chestnut, pine nut, peas." This is sweet, but not extremely so. I liked it, but may sister didn't. Service is good. They sells powders, some for drinking & some for face masks too.

    Cute packaged snack
    Niel C.

The store won't let you touch anything. Somewhat okay considering disease and infection control. Their prices are higher than the normal, but food and snack presentation is much better than most places. Pretty much paying for the cuteness factor. I used this store to place an order for 6 pieces of rice cake box for my mom's funeral service. It came out to about $25 per box. The rice cakes were delicious. The way they packaged everything exceeded my standards.

    14 in pumpkin cake ($80)

Best rice cakes in Los Angeles. Every time I'm in town, I make a huge pre-order for their dduks or some variation of rice cakes. Everything made fresh and with high quality ingredients. Favorite thing to order is the chocolate dduk. But you'll need to call and pre-order a week in advanced and order 6. My family buys in bulk and freezes them all if we don't finish within a day. And you simply steam them when you're ready. Dropped a star because the young lady in the front of the store isn't so friendly or helpful. She looks like she doesn't want to be there. And very curt. Try to go when the manager is there and they'll sometimes give you some extra goodies

Rice cake and a hard object

I almost broke my teeth eating their rice cake it had some kind of hard object. Don't know what it is.... Crazy! Do not recommend this place to anyone!

pink square mochi texture! between a steamed bun and Japanese mochi
    Jessica L.

Quick summary: Cute little shop offering a wide variety of mochi in different flavors and textures, all at very reasonable prices. I'd come back to try more! - Injeolmi mochi - Super soft! Awesome texture with a good amount of injeolmi powder. The mochi are unsweetened, or barely sweetned, and the injeolmi flavor is pretty subtle on its own. Perhaps that's just the default, but I think I might've preferred the black sesame one more. - Pink mochi square - This was still warm when I bought it! I thought this would be strawberry flavor, but it's not and frankly I don't know what it is. It's good though! Slightly sweet with a few chunks of red something here and there. I thought it would be a firmer, sticky mochi similar to Japanese mochi, but it's actually a cross between a steamed bun texture and Japanese mochi. Really interesting and I enjoyed it a lot!

Once I found out there was going to be a Kuromi themed collab here I had sure to mark my calendar,…read moreso I've been looking forward to this! The collab started today and will last until the 31st. The store opens at 7am , but even though I got there around 8:30 and there was no line they still managed to sell out of a majority of the limited edition Kuromi themed pastries. Which was a little heart breaking, but also understandable. I ended up ordering the Kuromi Berry lemonade and some of their more popular items like the D Tia Blue (blueberry/cream cheese filled pastry) and the Japanini. Everything hit the spot as expected, but the highlight of my visit was definitely that berry lemonade! It had the perfect sweet to sour ratio and it looked very whimsical with its purple hue. I'll definitely be back to order that again and maybe I'll have better luck next time with the availability of the limited edition pastries. It wasn't as busy as it typically gets so took advantage of the opportunity and I dined in. During my visit I adored the Kuromi decor around the story. It was definitely picture worthy. They also have the cutest merch available for sale and of course I bought a sticker sheet to add to my sticker collection. The workers also wore pretty purple Kuromi hats and aprons, which is also included in their merch for sale fyi. If you're a Sanrio/Kuromi fan, do yourself a favor and RUN to your nearest Okayama Kobo cafe!

She took me here. The place was very clean and tidy with a lot of different types of sweet treats. I was there for one thing only. I did ask the gal working if they were made that day and she said yes. We ordered a raspberry, an orange, a coffee bean and the popular mango. This was my 2nd time trying these and our hopes were high BUT the raspberry was just awful the filling was strange and it had just raspberry jam inside,I dint eat it. The mango was okay so we shared that. The coffee bean was just awful as well so we didn't finish that either. The orange was the best of the group but overall just a disappointing experience once again because these are not cheap. I'm starting to think I might just have to give up my journey to find these although there are some places in Vegas that look promising. I don't think Reno has any bakeries that make these. They look so beautiful but the taste is a let down.

When I arrived, there were only a few mochi in the refrigerator, and the display looked sparse, almost as if only a few were left. The mochi I saw also looked quite different from the photo. I asked whether they had any others, and an employee told me they had been flash frozen and were in the freezer. She brought one out for me. I asked, "Was this made today?" and was told yes, so I bought it. I was very disappointed when I got home and cut it in half. I understand that a handmade dessert won't look exactly like a photo, but this was far from what I had expected. I called the bakery to explain my concern. The person I spoke with did not let me finish explaining and insisted, "That could never happen." She also asked why I was saying that and told me to bring the mochi back. I had gone out of my way to visit early that morning, so being told to make another trip was frustrating. The phone conversation left me more upset than the mochi itself. This was my second visit. I had also had a disappointing experience with a green onion or garlic bread on my first visit, but the Instagram photo made me want to give the bakery another chance. Unfortunately, I left disappointed again. I've attached photos so others can see the mochi I received.
