The first time I discovered Sire's Eyewear, I was visiting New York City, in December. They were in a Christmas Village booth at Hyatt Park. I was impressed with the unique styles and quality of the frames. The vendor, CJ was engaging and so knowledgeable. I immediately found a pair of glasses that I loved! HOWEVER, I was hesitant to make a purchase for glasses in NYC, from a company in CA, when I was from GA. MY MISTAKE! I searched for three years for the same quality and service that I was offered by CJ. Nobody compared! I wasn't satisfied until I returned three years later to NYC and again found CJ's booth in Hyatt Park. I purchased the glasses that I wanted, and sent Sire's Crown my prescription from my optical department in GA. Two weeks later I received the best pair of glasses ever! I'm a BELIEVER! My Sire's Crown glasses fit my face perfectly and the quality of lenses are superior to any I've had locally. Oh, and they were less expensive, with all the extra features, than my previous glasses from GA. I frequently have people stopping me and asking where I found such unique frames. These eyeglasses are good for the first few months, but inevitably they suffer from the "Sire's peel". What is the "Sire's peel" you ask? Let me explain... The top layer of these eyeglasses (the part that looks like wood) is like that of a sticker. It adheres to the top of the actual eyeglasses. Think of it like putting a sticker that's shaped like your eyeglasses on top of another pair of plain colored acetate eyeglasses. It's both trickery in genius. Trickery in that in that it's not made of a single wood all the way through, only a small sticker-like layer is. Genius in that you get the flexibility of acetate eyeglasses. Eventually, you will sweat and/or the oils of your face will get on the eyeglasses. When this happens, the top layer WILL peel off (hence, the "Sire's peel") and chip off areas of the sticker from the base. They look absolutely horrible after the first peel and only get worse as time goes on. Unfortunately, Sire's Eyewear chooses to blame the customer. I have been given explanations from customer service and CJ that acidic pH levels cause this to happen. Perhaps this is true, but I'm skeptical because I've tried TWO pairs of eyeglasses that yield the same result. One I wore like I'd normally wear any pair of eyeglasses and the other I babied. In both cases, the peel began within the first 3 months. Also, in both cases, Sire's Eyewear put the blame on me... I wanted to love these eyeglasses; I really did. However, the quality issues are too deep for me. read more

I went to Book Con in New York where a friend of mine introduced me to CJ, the man behind Sire's Crown. He was extremely personable and kind. You could tell that he loves what he does by speaking to him. I ordered a pair of wood frames from him. He took my information there, asked if any changes needed to be made to the way the frames were made or any other specifications. Once I was able to get my prescription, I sent it to him. I ended up having my prescription changed shortly after sending it to him, he used the new prescription! Along the way, they sent update emails so I would know the status of my glasses! I received my glasses yesterday and I am in love with them! I also love how excited CJ was that I received them! These glasses are worth every penny spent on it, not just because they are eco friendly but they are made by a company passionate about their craft and is apparent in the detail in the frames themselves. I ordered a pair of custom frames late March 24, 2020. I asked for an update on the frames on May 27, 2020. I finally received a reply on July 14th saying I'd get tracking by the end of the following week. I ask for an update on July 24. I ask for an update on July 30. I get a reply on August 3rd that they shipped out that day and I'd get a notice from shipping. I received glasses on August 6th, the prescription is wrong. I received a call from the owner and he assures me I'd get a return shipping label on August 10th. I email on August 19, I get a response to check my junk folder, nothing there. I email again on August 20, I get a response on August 21 saying it was shipping's fault I didn't get the label. I get the label and put the glasses in return that night. Customer service says they'd email me when they received the glasses to start the return. The glasses were delivered on August 24, 2020. Dealing with customer service has so far been a huge pain and I would not recommend this company, which is super sad because the custom glasses look really cool. read more

I would give CJ and Team a five star rating for quality, creativity and precision of a truly unique pair of one a kind eyewear. Sadly I'd give them a one or two for customer service which is why my overall rating is what it is. The glasses I purchased weren't cheap. Unfortunately not being able to contact anyone by phone and relying on email that didn't get to the right person promptly it's resulted in major dissatisfaction on my part. This company is a blast to chat with and work with. I saw them at One of a Kind in Toronto and kept them on my radar until I officially needed to update my prescription. It was the only shop I could find that allowed me to design my own pair of custom frames. With some help from a salesperson, I eventually settled on a gorgeous caramel-colored wood in a vertical pattern. I have the Marilyn frame sized 54 and I can't BELIEVE how perfect it fits my face. The style is adorably funky & retro, yet the wood covering keeps it classy and sophisticated. They go with every outfit and I get NONSTOP compliments on them!!! When I received them in the mail, they were a PERFECT fit. I can't speak for the plastic or comic frames, but I have had their wooden glasses for about 6 months now and they still look fantastic. I wear them to my office every day. The lens took some adjusting (but every new lens I get takes some getting used to.) Pay for the quality with your time and sanity. I met CJ in January 2020 in Bryant Park. Cool enough guy, decent sales pitch, but the glasses sold themselves. I was beyond impressed with the quality and creativity the frames. Within 20 minutes, I had placed my order and was told to expect to see my glasses in two months (March). That said, there is one HUGE draw back. It wasn't until five months later, in June, that I received my frames. I would not have minded had they reached out even once without my contacting them first. It took me threatening not to pay for them to actually send my glasses (not two weeks later I might add). I will once again acknowledge the stylish quality of these frames and their exceptional fit. Nearly a year later (towards the end of the warranty) I reached out to take advantage of the promise they made to make small repairs as frequent wear lead to dulling of the colors and chipping of the woods. After a month, now outside the range of my warranty, they respond saying they will do it, but it will not be covered by warranty. After a brief back and forth, they agree to cover the repairs as long as I pay for shipping. Fine by me. I explicitly asked how long I would be waiting; they said 2-4 weeks. A few days later I received confirmation that they had received the glasses. It has now been over three months and they do not respond to a single email I send. I am out of options and I don't know how else to reach them. At this point, I don't even care if they did the repairs, I just want my glasses back. Conveniently enough, CJ reached out in that time to see if I wanted another pair and flaked on a zoom to discuss style. After experiencing their abhorrent customer service, I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere when it comes time to find new frames. Shame, they did look really cool. read more

Just ordered my custom frames and I'm so excited to receive them! I saw this company's booth at ECCC and had to get a pair of comic glasses. The experience was great! Staff was easy to work with and really accommodating especially with tweaking and making adjustments for the images I used. I'm sorta picky but they were great the whole time! My appointment was later than I expected but it was partly because of a client before me, running late. After the Skype call I had, I can see why! If they're running late just call, they're so nice about everything! Expect the appointment to be 20-30mins depending if they already have custom images that you like right away. just the worst customer service you will ever encounter, not only do they barely answer the phone but they dont call you back after you leave them a message. they messed up the pair i bought in hawaii and agreed to put another lense in, the price was 95.00. after sending them the glasses and a check plus a note with my new address i called them back to give them some information, they never returned my call which is normal for them and i decided i didnt want to do business with them. i called one more time to let them know i put a stop on the check and wanted my glasses returned, they returned them alright, they sent my glasses to hawaii, i live in henderson nev, had they read my note they would have known that, after letting them know i am prepared to take court action they decided to send my glasses to me in henderso. been a consumer for over 50 years and have never ran across a company with so little respect for its customers, all i can say is buyer beware read more
