Chicken paillard
Sandra M.

We saw nothing but positive reviews and decided to give it a shot. The restaurant sits in a plaza and not hard to find. It's definitely a wine bar, with a long bar and several tables for diff size parties. Nicely decorated, clean, comfortable. A new waitress took great care of us. For appetizer, we had the short rib meatballs. It was served with 1 small scoop of ricotta and a few pieces of bread (a bit mushy) but was delicious. For dinner we ordered the seafood couscous and the chicken paillard. The couscous was cooked perfectly, but the seafood was not really fresh. The chicken was very thin, crispy on the corners and a bit overcooked, which made it dry. It was served with arugula and sun-dried tomatoes and neither helped with making the meal moist. It was disappointing to say the least. I hope it was just an off night and we'll give it another shot in the future.

Lamb Sliders- delicious!

We were late for our reservation and they were very accommodating. We had the Blackened Snapper- it was a special and it was excellent! The Ahi Tuna Stack - Amazing- very delicious. The Burrata Crostini was delicious- although we expected it to be warm- and it was cold - still delicious. The Wedge Salad was made with Romaine as I prefer it is more nutritious- it was so good. Lamb sliders- very delicious! The Ambiance was nice and the place- and our server was nice- we also got a bottle of red wine and it was perfect for the evening. Coming from a Plant City the only problem was the drive- wish it was closer.

Great restaurant located in a strip mall in Palm Harbor. There's a very nice inside dining room, long bar and a few patio tables. They have happy hour specials. The food really was fantastic. We started with the Brussels sprouts appetizer with bacon, truffle aioli, shaved parmesan. The Brussels sprouts were shredded so they were easier to eat and were really delicious with the bacon and parmesan. For our meals we had the grouper special with a beurre blanc sauce, green beans and sun dried tomatoes and a quinoa and brown rice medley and the Double cut pork chop 16 oz with a maple glaze. They were both absolutely delicious. The pork chop was a good size portion but I would've wanted a little bit more grouper for the price. For dessert we had the salted caramel cheesecake which was divine. We sat at the bar, great service. They are open 4-10pm Monday through Thursday and 4 to 11 Friday and Saturday. They are closed on Sunday..

Tomahawk steak truffle fries and truffle Mac. We love this place. Never a bad meal and great service.

Caesar salad, shrimp appetizer and the main chicken dish
Gary G.

This was our first trip to Sip85. We got there at 5:45 and of the 10 or so tables 2 were seated. The gentleman asked if we had a reservation which we didn't so he told us we could sit at the bar or outside. We chose outside. Over the hour that we were there only 2 other couples showed up. Not sure what the issue was with seating us at a table but that was not very accommodating when it was 92 degrees out. For food, the Caesar salad was a salad. My wife really liked the shrimp appetizer but the chicken dish had higher expectations than it achieved. It wasn't bad but wasn't anything special. I expected a lot more from a restaurant that only had 4 main dishes. Overall it is questionable if we go back.

This spot is the place to be in this area! Recommend the beggars pouches, the charcuterie and the caprese salad. Flavorful, and fresh - especially those pouches to start! The Brussels sprouts are also the lightest most fluffiest and flavor filled vegetables. The first time we went the server was knowledgeable and let us try some of the wines before we committed. Once we described what we liked, he was able to pair us with a perfect wine... x2. We went back later in the week and had the pleasure of being served by the owner! He was knowledgeable, personable and kind. He gave us nothing but awesome recommendations and even surprised me (per my request with my last glass!). Every wine is perfectly chosen and delivered so beautifully. Strongly recommend trying this gem yourself. Call ahead so you're guaranteed a seat.

Waygu steak and substituted frites for the daily mash

I really wanted to love this place and had high hopes from the lovely welcoming from the hostess that turned in to being our server. We love meatballs and almost always try them when it's a first visit so imagine our disappointment when these ones weren't anything special. The fact they have them as an appetizer and main dish led us to believe different. The red sauce was plain and not all that great. The steak was the best thing we had but it was undercooked and as you can see they don't really care too much about plating as they didn't let it rest before slicing it and didn't clean the plate before serving it. The potatoes were the most disappointing part of the meal. When you see "daily mash" one would assume they make them fresh. These were instant potatoes that I wouldn't even eat at home. For the $90 price tag for a bottle of wine and two mediocre meals we will not be returning. Our server was truly amazing though and for that I give it 3 stars.

The best brussel sprouts!! You have to order them. Also, I'd recommend making a reservation. It seems like they operate off mostly reservations.

This Italian-style winery is a true hidden gem run by Joe and his wife, a warm and welcoming couple who make you feel right at home. Joe learned winemaking from his family as a child, and you can tell he pours that passion into every bottle. He's also a Vietnam veteran, which makes hearing his stories even more special. The tour was fantastic -- we got cheese, chocolate, and a behind-the-scenes look at Joe's small but mighty operation. He showed us exactly how he makes, bottles, and labels his wines by hand. We got to sample 3-4 different wines, each with its own story, and then enjoyed a full glass of our favorite in their beautiful little garden area. My favorite? The Castillo Rojo -- Joe calls it a "party in a bottle," and he's absolutely right! He even changed my mind about Merlot, which I never thought I'd say. The Groupon included a free bottle to take home, but I ended up leaving with five because I loved them so much. If you're in the Tarpon Springs area and want something unique, personal, and fun, definitely check out Castle Winery. You'll leave with great memories (and probably a few bottles of wine, too)!

The reservation was overbooked, rather than keeping track of every single reservation they let way too many people in meaning half the group was standing and didn't have a seat. 4. The place was filthy, random food containers opened who knows if ANYTHING is safe to consume there - the owners are both wheelchair bound and likely not doing due diligence with cleaning and maintenance of machinery. I will be contacting the Florida health department, I understand that this is their livelihood, but it is NOT SAFE for human consumption and violates so many food safety laws

I also had the pleasure of meeting the husband and wife duo that makes all of these Florida grown products. They made this experience so much fun. All you need to know is that their natural wines, jellies, and jams were all amazing. There's something for everyone here. So, I decided to take a different route back to Brandon from Ellenton just so that I could try these wines. It was an easy drive on US-301 as I made my way to Wauchula Rd. This is where the adventure started for me. It's a 2 lane road with a speed limit of 60 MPH that takes you past farm lands and phosphate mines. I honestly felt like I was lost in the middle of nowhere. Thank goodness for GPS. I pretty much knew that Bunker Hill Road would be coming up soon after passing Lake Parrish, and there it was. The winery is across the street and to the left of the fork in the road. There's plenty of parking in front of it along rows of grape vines. At that point, I was just happy that I found it. I didn't really get a chance to explore around the vineyard. Lenora found me in front of the farm winery accessory building where the wine tasting would begin. That's when I also met Larry as they invited me inside the tasting room. What a cool set up they have! It's inside of what looks like a heavily insulated Quonset hut. Larry explained the differences between unfiltered and filtered wine. Honestly, I didn't know there was a difference. It raised so many questions, and actually made me aware of all the additives that are placed into manufactured wines during the filtering process. Some that I have actually been sensitive to in the past. It was interesting to hear about their process, and even the way they recycle their bottles and jelly jars. They are truly sustainable. What I also noticed is that most (if not all) of their wines are vegan. I'm not vegan, so it's not something that I usually look for. I just didn't know that animal proteins are commonly used in the process of making wine. It's all very interesting. Let's talk about the wine tasting. There's a list of medium dry, dry, and sparkling wines. I made my selections from the list of medium dry wines. I did take some suggestions from them, and I'm so glad that I did. Otherwise, I would have never tried the Bamboo Herbal Tea or Dandelion Flower Petal. Just open your mind to all the possibilities. Your palate will thank you later. There are fruit, vegetable, flower, coffee, tea, and even bamboo wines. I think I saw rice wine as well. If it has grape, then it's the muscadine variety. If you want a mixture, then I totally suggest the Strawberry/Grape wine. This one was one of my favorites. I was also in love with the Guava wine. The same goes for the jam. It's insanely wonderful. You can get it with or without the seeds. I wanted to buy all of the ones on my list. I ended up getting six 12 oz. bottles so that I could share them with my husband. He was just as amazed as I was with his samples of wine. The flavors are so clear and with such a great color and aroma. There was no unpleasant after taste, and it wasn't overly sweet like other Florida fruit wines that I've tasted. I didn't get that wine headache which usually happens with red wines. I guess I'm just sensitive to something in it. I also sampled Lenora's Bamboo Leaf Herbal Tea. It was so refreshing! What a great way to end the tasting. Anyway, I tried 6 different samples for $6. They are truly just a sample. Don't expect to get full size glasses. It's not a wine bar. However, you can purchase a charcuterie platter if you call 24 hours in advance of your tasting. They'll have it ready for you. Once you do the first wine tasting, the other tastings will be complimentary when you return. That's when I plan on trying the vegetable wines. There is one that actually tastes like a salad. I didn't get to try the coffee wine, but I did sample the coffee wine jelly. It was actually very good. The starfruit wine jelly is even better. I can't wait to go back. Hopefully my husband will come along with me next time. I think he would love sampling the wines and jellies. I didn't really get to see the rest of the vineyard this time around. Maybe next time. Thank you Larry & Lenora for making it such an informative & fun experience.
