Panna cotta was ok but too dense for me...
    Peter T.

We had a tasty meal here the other night. We tried the soup which was very tasty, maybe a little thin but very good. We had the burrata salad to start, it was ok but the tomatoes weren't really ripe which is a key part of course so that was a little disappointing. The enjuja pizza was really very tasty I must say. The mixture of creamy cheese with their sweet and salty tomato sauce was a magical combination. The crust was good but if I was being super fussy I'd say it was not quite up to the best napolatana pizza I've ever had but on whole very good. Dessert we had panna cotta and it was just ok. I found the consistency too solid. Usually it is sort of light and creamy but this one was too hard and dense.. Otherwise not bad... So good and bad here..

I would recommend making reservations, especially for a group more that 4. There were nonoroblems waiting, and in fact my party was already seated while we were waiting in line. So that is a bit of a tweak that can he addressed. When folks are waiting in line, a few staff members did not seem to greet the folks behind the first group, which seemed a bit impersonal in such s small waiting area. The resto itself may be in an unintentional competition with the steps-away Grazie up the street on Yonge. The service was good, the complementary bird sized bread not nearly enough for 6 folks, but thoughtful. The chacouterie platter good quality at a premium price. The pizza definately best value in the plafe, authentic wood oven in the exposed kitchen straight to table. Pasta seemed ok and a bit pedestrian (in fairness I did not try). The calamari was good with a few shrimps, fresh and flavorful. Overall a swank, off Eglinton resort with fresh and authentic flavour. Definately with a look! -Zuk

Very busy but seated within a decent amount of time. Took awhile for the food to come out, but considering how packed it was, no one was to blame! Servers were running off their butts and amazing!! I just found the food nothing special. The pasta lacked flavour. Mine had mussel shells that had broken and I had to pick them out. However, decor was beautiful and the atmosphere was there. Just the food was lacking for me.

Their calamari was by far my favourite ! I got the diavola pizza - thin crust , salsa and light on cheese . I personally like my pizza with the wonderful coat of cheese so was a 3.5/5 for me . Venue : very cute date night vibes but we came here for a birthday so also accommodated our group of 9. Service : very very impressive ! Always provided genuine advice and ensured we were satisfied with the options we chose Wine : wonderful selection of bottles !

Had lunch here in the summer and I've been meaning to go back ever since. I recently went for dinner with a co-worker for dinner and we both enjoyed our meals. I had a pizza and really enjoyed it - loved the chewy, crisp crust! My co-worker had the papardelle and said it was delicious. We also had a couple glasses of wine, which were well-priced and very enjoyable. I was very impressed with our server as he was extremely polite and knowledgeable about the menu, which I expect at most places, but don't always get. Will definitely return.

Sip Wine Bar is a pleasant surprise that I unearthed entirely on accident. While looking for a last minute dinner spot for a celebration, we came across this restaurant. Luckily, they had availability to take a group of 5 of us in for dinner on a Friday night. I've noticed that this is rare for most restaurants in Toronto, which require at least two weeks notice. This restaurant has a really great atmosphere and pleasant interior. It also has a nice patio for eating outside. The service is wonderful! Our waiter provided recommendations, checked in with us often, and put real care into his service. His name was Manuel. I tried the funghi pizza, penne alla vodka with rose vodka sauce, and creme brûlée. Each dish was exceptional. The pizza was crispy on the outside, while soft on the inside. The mushrooms complimented the tomato sauce and mozzarella perfectly. The pasta was creamy and filled with flavour. But the best part was 100% dessert. This was easily one of the best creme brûlée's I have ever had. I would truly recommend it if you have a sweet tooth. Overall, I will certainly come back to this spot. Impressed by their service, atmosphere, menu selection, and quality.

SIP Wine Bar is a new Italian place in the Yonge-Eg area; it's at Yonge/Broadway so you'll have to walk a couple blocks north of Eglinton. When my pal and I went on a Thursday night, it was packed in spite of the disgusting weather outside. There's a bar area surrounded by the dinking room - it looks like a small place from the outside, but you can easily fit 50 people in here. We were seated right by the kitchen - don't worry, this place is clean as I was able to see this right from where I was sitting. I had a pizza with spicy salami - it was okay. My pal had the rissotto and she was not a fan, unfortunately. We ordered a couple glasses of wine. For a wine bar, the wine menu is limited. The food here is a-ok, but it's quite expensive... Good for: pizza, wine

Delicious burrata - as close to Italy as you can get!

We ordered and shared two beers, the first a lager, the second a sour beer in order to take advantage of the discounted price. The venue is long and narrow, with two floors and a distinctive looking back patio. Our service was fairly prompt and they are located in a quite convenient location, literally across the street from the subway and the historic, flagship LCBO location. So I can recommend a visit if you're in the area and desire a drink and/or snack.

My party of four visited during Taste of Oakville, and in hindsight, the evening foreshadowed…read moreitself early -- the restaurant's website was down with a 404 error, and we kept finding two different addresses (one apparently their old location). We eventually found it. Upon arrival, the door swung open and struck a seated guest -- a sign of just how small the space is. The restaurant was full except for one four-top (clearly ours), and we stood awkwardly in the entrance -- which is essentially inside the dining room -- waiting to be acknowledged. When greeted, we were asked if we had a reservation. We said yes. "Table for eight?" we were asked, which felt impossible given the size of the room. We clarified four, and were pointed to the only open table. No name was requested; we realistically could have just walked in and taken it. The space is starkly lit with aggressive bright white lighting that feels more clinical than cozy. The artwork is interesting and gives a gallery-like feel -- it seems the restaurant is aiming for a downtown Toronto wine bar aesthetic, but it doesn't quite land. Our table was missing water glasses, and the stemware was mismatched -- not in an intentional, charming way, but more in a "we ran out" way. Once seated, we weren't acknowledged or offered water for nearly 20 minutes. Not rushing guests is one thing; leaving them feeling forgotten is another. When our server finally arrived, the service set the tone for the evening. One glass of water was poured before he realized another was missing. He disappeared, returned with a glass, inspected it mid-pour, then walked away again (dirty glass). After several more trips and long gaps, everyone eventually received water -- about 15 minutes later. He was polite and friendly, just clearly untrained. He shared that the owner is also the sommelier, cook, and server, and that he liked working there because he wasn't expected to know much about wine -- an interesting admission for a wine bar. The owner greeted us warmly but asked only one guest about wine preferences -- ironically the only non-wine drinker at the table. The concept appeared to be sommelier-led, though this was never explained. If that is the intention, engaging the entire table is essential. That said, the wines themselves were enjoyable; the service surrounding them was not. The Taste of Oakville menu promised three curated 3-oz pours paired with a charcuterie board for two. The pours arrived unevenly and slowly, with little explanation of the pairings. The charcuterie boards were plain and inconsistent between tables despite containing similar items -- basic fruit, crostini, simple cured meats, small portions of brie, and two slices of truffle cheese. No crackers, spreads, or thoughtful touches elevated the experience, and presentation varied noticeably. Our second wine pour didn't arrive until our mains, and service moved so slowly we requested a wine list to order a bottle. We were told there is no wine list -- "we're not that kind of restaurant." Instead, all reds are $80 and all whites $70, and the owner selects the bottle for you after asking only red or white. The concept might work if explained upfront; without context, it was confusing. At one point, noticing my empty glass, our server poured me a random red -- which turned out to be the same wine as our first pour -- and then left without serving anyone else. We had to remind staff we were still waiting for our second curated pour. Nothing about the experience felt curated. The most surprising moment of the night came when our mains arrived. As we lifted our appetizer plates -- still holding olive pits, fruit rinds, and crumbs -- the servers told us not to worry about clearing them and proceeded to place our main dishes directly on top of the used plates. I'm still shocked. I wouldn't do that at home, let alone expect it at a Lakeshore, or quite frankly, any restaurant. Two of us ordered the tagliatelle, which was tasty but contained only two small pieces of short rib -- and was difficult to enjoy while staring at discarded rinds beneath the plate. The other two ordered brisket sliders: two sliders, no sides. They tasted good but left diners hungry. One guest joked they kept thinking the fruit rinds were fries -- unfortunately accurate. We tried to make the best of the evening, but it never delivered the cozy wine-and-charcuterie experience we had anticipated -- dim lighting, thoughtful pairings, something special. After finishing our meal, we requested our bills and reminded staff we were still waiting for the third curated pour. We were told "five minutes." Those five minutes never came. Eventually, wanting simply to leave, we paid a single combined bill and sorted it out ourselves. Dinner for four totaled $460. This was not the boutique Lakeshore dining experience we expected, and ultimately, it was deeply disappointing.

Having moved back to Toronto recently, I thought it would be great to join to meet other young professionals, and we did. This is the perfect place to meet new people over a bottle of wine, or bring old friend by to help you enjoy one, or two or three. The price for a locker is reasonable given i can store a 10$ bottle of wine that i would normally pay 50$+ for at a restaurant, so two bottles of wine per month i and i consider that i saved money (contrary to some of the other comments below), plus got all the other bonus' i mentioned. I found other members to be very nice and approachable. Its located in a quiet nook of DT Toronto (east end) which makes it hassle-free: no gridlock, plenty of cheap parking, no line ups no blaring music you cant stand (as opposed to the King West scene). The VC quickly became our "go-to" place and we enjoy the classy atmosphere. We have also booked the private dining room to host an event (birthday). The food provided by Andrew the chef was not only amazingly delicious, but well priced, you cant get a meal like that for the value any where else in T.O... Whether you may be looking for wine storage, a place to meet people, a place to hang out after work/weekends, or a place to host corporate events, I think that this place caters to all and the proprietors to a great job in running the place.

This place has gone downhill very quickly once it became popular…read more When it started, it was cool and trendy because it was a neat concept, there were not too many members (it was secret), not too many corporate parties, pricing was reasonable and the owners were humble. Its exactly opposite now. For the smallest locker it costs ~$95/month to rent, (they charge you a 3% credit card fee) and there is a one time "initiation fee" of ~$75 as well. The location being on the east end near financial district is not ideal either. The number of corporate events have increased dramatically. Most weeknights esp. Wed, Thurs and Fri you would have some bank or financial institution having a client session in the lounge (note the lounge is not too big) and you would be expected to keep your voices down (or keep your little session with your friends to a minimum) because "there is an event going on". The whole premise of paying a premium for a private member's only club space is lost in my opinion. Secondly, when it started the owners (Andrew and Costa), were a lot more humble and nice which has again dramatically changed after the "success" of this place. They are planning to open a couple other locations as they see this as more of a money making business machine now (nothing wrong with that) vs. what they sold me on - a small family owned type wine club where you would feel personally connected and welcomed. Completely commercial outfit now. Its a great place if you want to hobnob with suits and old men.
