Went on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch with my boyfriend. The atmosphere of the restaurant was urban street style and it had a cool vibe to it. The server was very tentative and nice throughout the entire experience! She seemed to be the only waitress at the time serving about 4 tables but there was a never a wait! I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were SO good! I had a Wolffer Rosè cider. They had a great selection of food and drinks. was traveling with my boyfriend this week and as usual browsed yelp for a good place to eat with good atmosphere. We quickly chose Sip and made our way there for dinner. Food; The food was incredible. We split Spicy Thai Wings and the Cheddar Bacon Burger after starting with the poutine. The poutine was melty and gooey! The wings were flavorful, crisp and covered in spicy Thai sauce, perfection. The burger was so fresh, you could tell the ingredients are carefully picked, crafted and put together. Typically I love some ketchup to dunk my burger in but the freshness of this burger didn't need covering up! The dirty mayor cider and the foreign objects were our drink choices, and they were enjoyed. Oh and the desserts! I'm a sucker for cinnamon rolls and brownies so their toasted desserts with ice cream were delightful. The blueberry sauce on the brownies was a flavor I would have never thought of but loved it! Atmosphere; The vibe is low key, unique and almost unapologetically authentic. The restaurant, food and service are one of a kind and true to themselves. We loved the vibe, and had the pleasure of chatting with the owners our entire meal. Price; well priced, enough said. Service; the service was excellent, the owners are highly visible and offer real conversation, thank you! Value; of the highest value. I love to get food that no only has amazing tasting, well developed flavors for a meal, but also a place with an excellent experience and atmosphere. This place would be slammed in my home town as it was truly so awesome. Have had wonderful meals here in the past, but today was a letdown. The service was good. However, the grilled chicken in my sandwich was thin and overcooked. The bacon wasn't drained well., and the fries were a little greasy. And, the cheesecake, a signature dessert, wasn't " ready" yet. They are normally out of it on Wednesday, but today was a Thursday. I'd say 3.5-4 stars. We came in for a late lunch on a Sat pm. I had the grilled chicken salad with raspberry vinaigrette. It was fine but the chicken was too wood smoked/mesquite/or the seasoning was strong. My 6 yr old had the chicken fingers and fries. It was delicious. My 13 yr old son had the three pork BBQ tacos with flour tortillas and sweet potato chips. He liked the tacos. He didn't like the chips but I thought they were delicious. An unexpected surprise and the best dish was the falafel tacos! It had a nice bit of heat to it as well. My husband really enjoyed the falafel. It's nice the items are freshly made. I visit the town for the first time and choose Sip for lunch. My whole dining experience here was pleasant and enjoyable. The lady who served us seem to be the manager/owner and she was very nice. She gave off outgoing vibe with lots of smile. She also gave the kid some toys to play with. It's a great gesture since the restaurant itself look fancy and all but the staff is down-to-earth friendly! I gave it a 4 stars because there are room for improvement for the food. Poutine was a little cold when it came out and the fries shouldn't be too burn to the point that they taste bitter Their fish tacos were delicious but maybe give a slice of lemon for people who prefer to enjoy the fish with some acidity The noodle bowl needs some more seasoning and less "weird" toppings such as pickled onion and huge slice of cucumber (julienned cucumber would do better) The BBQ in the bag with the pulled pork was delicious and packed with flavor. We had lunch at Sip before attending a late afternoon wedding and loved the vegan options. We had the mushroom tacos which were flavorful and fresh, tasty guacamole/chips, and a falafel wrap with fries which was made up of multiple layers of deliciousness and made for a fabulous late-night snack after the wedding. Little gem in Plattsburgh! It is a super cute little shop with good food and a large selection of drinks. When you walk in you seat yourself. There are couches for a more casual date or tables for dinner. My friends and I sat at a table for dinner. I had the pulled pork tacos which were good! It came with a side of sweet potato chips that were freshly fried. I'm not a huge fan of sweet potato but those were good!! I got the candies champagne with maple cotton candy instead of the original. I probably wouldn't order that again, but it was cute for photos and aesthetics. The staff was friendly and inviting. We just stumbled on this place. They are a few weeks in at their new location. Open air garage doors were open to catch the last good weather of the season, should be a nice touch in coming summers. Drinks were innovative, service great. Our servers turned out to be an owner and his wife. While very busy, they were attentive to all. The menu presented a wide range of choices, creative appetizers and meals. My kimchi Bloody Mary went well with my fish tacos. Everything was fresh. Biggest surprise was the sweet potato chips. Great food, great service. Loved talking the owners here, who understood my mixed curiosity/apprehension about trying their "Korean tacos." (Who knew an actual Korean might visit Plattsburgh??!!? Surprise! ) So they agreed to make just one Korean To taco to try out in addition to my order of sweet potato nachos with pulled pork. The Korean taco was just about the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. Definitely top 10. Who cares that if I didn't find it very Korean and would, if I were empress of the world, change the name of the dish? Korean-ish or not, it was a work of culinary art--a complex, well-executed balance of savory and sweet, spicy and acidic. A delightful party in your mouth. I wish I had ordered a full plate of them. I wish I lived near enough to go back for them every week. The salads my cousins ordered were great, too, as were the sliders. My husband really loved his tacos--I forget which one he ordered. Definitely not the case here Sip definitely deserves all 5! Atmosphere- It was an early Sunday afternoon so not too busy at the time, which was nice as we had our three year old with us. Good selection of toys to keep him occupied so that we could enjoy our conversation. Decor was cool especially the realistic NYC subway decor leading to the restroom. Menu - straight forward fresh and simple; starters, salads, tacos and sliders. Great choices and easily sharable. Reasonable prices to boot! Beer Menu - not the most extensive selection that I've seen but varies and well chosen. You can tell that they've done their homework and had something for everyone including beer snobs. I enjoyed War Elephant by Rushing Duck Brewing and Splish by Grimm Brewing. My wife had Strawberry Moon from Zero Gravity. Food - excellent straight forward fresh flavors, not overly and unnecessarily complicated. We shared the sweet potato nachos and chicken tacos. The sweet potato chips were thin and freshly sliced and cooked to a crisp. Topped with cheddar, black bean and corn salsa, sour cream and we opted to add the pulled pork. Pulled pork had great texture and house made sauce had just the right sweetness with a hint of vinegar for bite. Corn tasted fresh, sweet and crisp which was a nice touch. The tacos were equally as good, with chicken caramelized onion, arugula and maple cream. The char on the thinly sliced chicken gave it great texture and flavor. The maple cream provided a nice counter balance and wasn't overly sweet. One of the best dining experiences we've had in a while. We would make the trip across the pond just to go to Sip! read more

I visited Sip for the first time on the Sunday of MDW and it was just as awesome as I had hoped it would be. $4 mimosas (WHAT?!), $2 PBRs, and amazing pulled pork sliders made me never want to leave. Great spot in Plattsburgh. We split two apps: the sweet Thai wings and the fried cheese. The fried cheese was cornbread battered curds which was delicious. The wings were the best. Lightly breaded but the sauce on them was amazing. We both had tacos, shrimp tacos for me and curry chicken tacos for the hubby. The shrimp tacos were great with a fresh salsa on top and bangin sauce. The chicken tacos were good but he thought they needed more sauce. Both our drinks were good.
