Usually love this place. Showed up to the door around 8pm on a weekday, basically empty. Bouncer looked at me and my partner and said no, find somewhere else. 6ft dark hair, clean side trim. Same bouncer I've heard mentioned below. I look very young but he didn't even ask for my ID which I had in my hand. I should add I was only in there a few days previous!! Sinnots get your act together. read more

A hidden gem in the heart of Centre Dublin. Great drinks, reasonable prices and not over crowded. Four drunks 2 beers, 1 cocktail & a glass of Jameson on the rocks for 22 euros. Where other bars in the area are charging 11 euros per drink. read more

Once upon a time, there a was a little girl who was so afraid to sing in public that she would tremble with fear. The music which was coming out was broken and people would run very far and very fast. But one day, the little girl became a grown up and she went for a drink to a magic place. The place was called Sinnotts... One star for the Spot ! It's amazing how huge Sinnotts is. I mean, the front door looks like any other pub, and the stairs look like any other stairs leading to a pub. But once downstairs, surprise and astonishment ! There is a huge room. And in the middle of this huge room there is a huge bar. It's soooo huge one could get lost while going to the bathroom. No kidding ! Ok, maybe. Or only if you have had a few drinks... ;) One star for the Ambiance ! People are friendly and you feel welcomed. I know I feel welcomed every time I go there. The waiters don't have you wait for ages and they recognize you even though you can't recognize anything anymore. There are a few reasons why one goes to Sinnotts. When you go to Sinnotts, you probably want to : 1/Watch a match. Soccer or rugby or darts... Sport ! 2/Have a few drinks after work for a few hours. 3/Sing. One star for the Karaoke organizer ! I don't remember his name (it will come back to me... Especially as if I go there on Thursday :) but this guy is awesome ! At 10.30 every thursday he comes to Sinnotts, installs his karaoke equipment and warms up the room with his beautiful voice. In the meantime you go through a booklet he gave you and try to pick a song you like (there are plenty), you can sing (the choice is reduced), you can sing after a few drinks (there are just a couple :D). You write the title of the song and your name on a piece of paper and give it back to your man. Then you wait, not long, but it seems like ages as you are completely terrified and drunk (to help loosen up). Well, the first time I went to Sinnotts I was so petrified that I couldn't sip a single drop of my drink. A few month later, I enjoy the effect of spirit over my poor nerves. It gives a little "je ne sais quoi" to my singing ;) One final star for the Treats ! Sometimes, your man gives free cocktails to either the best. the more couragous or funny singers. I had a few free cocktails, but I don't think it was because I was the best singer. I won't ask (my pride would get hurt :) I want more ! Last week I was celebrating the end of my previous job. This week I will celebrate... the beginning of my new job ! And next week, I will celebrate Valentine's day ! And then... Well... For more info, check this link : www.sinnotts.ie PS : Let me know what you want to celebrate and we will meet up for a karaoke night. See you at Sinnotts ! XD read more

This place is a great venue for watching any sort of sports. It has a good layout, which is great because it gets very full in here but you can still get to the toilets pretty easily (always preferable in a pub). The food is pretty good, and with the oval bar it's pretty easy to still get your next pint when it's full up. You'll need to get here pretty early to get a seat though. It's a good place and everyone is friendly and fun. read more

Meh. I don't get the fuss. PROS: - Very spacious and a nice layout. - Inexpensive drink specials if you get in before 8 or 9 on Thursday-Saturday. - Cleanest bathrooms I've seen in a bar in Dublin. CONS: - Their cocktail menu consists almost entirely of very weak and overly sweet drinks. Saw the girl in front of me order a Long Island Ice Tea that looked like a straight up coke; those things are supposed to be at least 3/4 booze. - They don't stock gin? Or at least they were completely out of it on a Friday night, which is unacceptable for this lover of G&Ts. read more

beer football bar food. What more could a man want, a few more of the opposite sex and I would be tempted to say this is the best pub in dublin. I might pop in after work actually mmm. read more

This is a great spot for many reasons. First off, if you ever find yourself drug out to St. Stephens Green for shopping with the wife, this is the closest place you can go to grab a pint. I remember when I first spotted it the wife look at me and said 'if you want to go grab a pint while I do my shopping...' and that's about all I heard as I disappeared into what was probably a cartoon shaped cloud of smoke that was left standing where I had been. While in the pub I found another reason to love the place - they are one of only a handful of pubs in Ireland that serve a Bloody Mary. Nothing beats a good Bloody Mary for the cure, or as a good liquid lunch. The staff were friendly, the food I got was also pretty good for standard pub fare, and it has a nice decor for a basement bar. By that I mean it doesn't feel cramped, crowded, or dank. If you find yourself stuck watching women flip through racks at Stephen's Green remember you can escape underneath to this place if you are quick enough. read more

I have been in here a few times mid week and found the bar staff very unprofessional. Some of the staff seem to think its acceptable to treat customers like they are dirt? I was convinced they didn't want our custom. I won't be coming back here again. read more

This is probably my favorite bar in Dublin. There is a great mix of younger and older people, lots of sports on the various television screens, and pretty good deals on drinks. On Saturdays, cocktails are 2 for €7 from 9 pm to 10 pm, which is one of the best deals around. Everyone is relaxed and joins together to cheer on their teams. The only downsides are that it does get pretty crowded, so finding a seat can be difficult, and because it's crowded it can be loud. Not to worry though-- when the games come on, they turn up the volume on the TV's. read more

This pub has been around a long time and has stood the test if time for sure. Still buzzing with good tunes and a fun crowed. 2 cocktails for €6 before 9 is definitely a crowd pleaser with no half measures. read more

They have a good deal of 2 cocktails for just 6 euros and huge food platters. Very good for big groups.

The premier sports bar downtown, Sinnotts is fantastic for football-fanatics and sports enthusiast. Wouldn't go here if there wasn't a game on, but arrive early, as even though the place is huge, it fills up pretty quickly. They've good bar-food (the burgers are especially nice) to keep your mind occupied while you wait for the match to begin. read more

We stopped in just to check it out, having heard it was a good place to watch sport. Now we didn't go when a match was on or anything since this was purely for information purposes. At first when you have to go down a load of steps it doesn't seem too promising. But then, you see this huge space with loads of screens and big screens and you realise the rumours were true! There was also a sufficient amount of seating (especially as compared with another place proud of its big screens). The best part? Peroni on tap! Sadly, there's no pitchers but that can be overlooked. I'd defo give it a go for watching a match! read more

Went for a promotion advertised on yelp, and where told it was not promotion that was ever given. Poor form

Best place in town to watch a match with some friends. It's not bad on regular nights either, those 2 for 1 cocktails promotions get the right crowd in read more

While a mention of the word "carvery" is usually enough to strike horror through the soul of anyone familiar with the rubbery, limp, sliced meats served in impossibly tiny portions for outrageous prices in the majority of public houses - Sinnotts completely reverses the trend. The location is amazing, down an almost hidden staircase, just to the side of the Stephen's Green shopping centre. Don't be put off by the wide screen television showing sports in the window outside, while there may not be room to swing a cat at night or on sporting weekends, the cavernous downstairs is wonderfully relaxing on a weekday lunchtime. Words can barely do justice to the quality and amount of food on offer. There's usually two joints of meat, freshly carved in front of your watering eyes (yes it's just that tear jerkingly good) and a surfeit of vegetables - but the main event has got to be the potato selection. There's the obvious roast, boiled and mashed piled high on your plate, but wait, just before you pay, the chef asks "will you have a few chips?" - of course you will, they're amazing!!! Even if you don't have room for a full dinner, there's still a selection of soups and bread on offer. But of course, it's Ireland, so of course theres the option of a sandwich. Not just any sandwich either - you can have a cold one, or you can have a hot roast between two slices of bread. The best part is - they all come with free chips. So grab some food, have a pint and enjoy the cosy surroundings. read more

The Security were the nastiest piece of work I have had to deal with in my lifetime. My boyfriend and I went there for a 21st and they would not let us in (I don't drink and my partner had only had a beer). I asked them the reasons and they refused to. When this happens I assume it is because I am foreign yet my boyfriend is Irish, that said, both security men and the manager were foreign too. Apparently the club has this policy of not disclosing their reasons of refusing admittance to customers which is far from legal and very suspicious (shall put a complaint through the Equality Tribunal). This said, once we managed to get in, the place was far from nice, it was very much overpriced and dirty as well as populated with shady characters. Drinks are incredibly expensive for a place of this type. Will stick to classier bars next time. read more

Food is average and tasteless good for sport service is good and staff friendly and helpfull

Amazing bar for sports!!! Watched F1 and soccer on not one, not two, but THREE projection screens. Multiple normal TVs around too!! Then watched six nations rugby and Premiership. Amazing find as its down stairs but opens up to a vaulted ceiling. Felt more like a beer hall with the spaciousness. Food was good, ample panini sandwiches , fresh chips and good prices. Made my weekend away to otherwise not so impressive Dublin. read more

Sinnotts has the best carvery meal in Dublin. The food is so much more fresh than other carverys. The staff are quick, friendly and very helpful. It's just a pity the carvery isn't served all day and at the weekends. read more

I used to come here years ago for lunch when I was in college. They used to do the most fab and massive tuna sandwiches! They still have a fairly extensive menu but these days I would pop in there for pints from time to time if there was some match on. The bar itself is really big so it can hold the hordes of people without ever feeling too horribly mobbed. In fact you can nearly always find a seat, especially at the bar, which is my favourite place to be anyway. It's a bit annoying if you smoke as you have to go the whole way back upstairs and out to the front. However the screens are on in the window as well so if you are engrossed in the football you can keep an eye on the proceedings as you puff. There are usually tables and high stools in this area too and you often notice members of the public going by and stopping to check the score. One evening I was having a cigarette there and Neil Jordan strolled over from the Gaiety across the street to see how Liverpool were getting on! read more

Sinnotts is a great little spot located just next to Stephens Green Shopping Centre. I've been here a load of times and all but once it's been packed. They are very accommodating for live sports, particularly the football as they show some foreign channels that most other places dont have. The pints are pretty standard prices and they have the usual selection of beers/spirits etc etc. The food here is pretty nice too as far as pub food goes. The menu is fairly basic but the food comes out quick and is ok in terms of price. If a live game is on then this place is packed out and you can barely move but the atmosphere is very good read more

Sinnotts was right around the corner from our hotel during our stay in Dublin. The servers were friendly and the food was delicious. Martinis were only 5 Euros which was a great price - my Cosmo and Apple Martini were both delicious. There are plenty of TV screens for watching sports and it has a nice relaxed atmosphere. read more

I was there last night with two friends. We were drinking the same drinks all night. The first round I got I was charged 20.50. The second time my friend was charged 18.50. When my round came around again I was all of a sudden charged 21.50. Now, this really didn't bother me a whole lot, but out of principle I questioned the bar maid why I keep getting charged different prices. (different person different quote). A large bald gentleman who was the manager that night soon came out with a very aggressive attitude and was actually shouting at me accusing me of lying. I asked him to relax, but to no avail. He then grabbed my arm a shoved me out. Completely unacceptable behaviour in response to a customer's legitimate query. Also, bringing an unprovoked physical attack on me was completely outrageous. Absolutely disgusted! read more
